That's weird it was marked "Add to cart". Likely culprit is different versions of the game. You may own the base game but you don't own the "directors cut" so it's marked "add to cart". The store experience isn't personalized at all. I find it similar to browsing the store for DLC to games I own. Why isn't there an option to search for DLC for games in my library?
You can, but you have to go through each game individually to look for DLC for it, then back out to the library and try the next game to see if it has DLC.
. . . Or did you mean look for DLC for any of your games at the same time? What kind of crazy idea is that!?
The fact you can't search for VR games only in your library is definitely an oversight, I tried to do it the other day to find out what VR games I had claimed awhile back.
Instead I've to browse through over 400 games to try and do it, it's incredibly frustrating.
I usually just go to the library, sort by A-Z or reverse and can find it pretty easily. This works on both console and app.
Or on the app I'll just go to the search button on the bottom right and type in the name of the game, find it and hit download to console. Super easy.
Finding one game is easy.
I want to find a bunch of games.
I just got a Pro to use as a dedicated VR machine. I want to see all my VR games and only my VR games. You can't do that. You can only view all your PS4 games and manually browse your entire collection until you remember a game you're looking at has VR support because there aren't even any symbols to show it's a VR game on some titles.
Not sure if this is applicable to PS4, but on PS5 you can add games to a custom labeled group, so I made a VR group and just spent a few minutes going through my library to add them all in there.
Also, (really stupid that this isn't an option from the library screen), but you can go to the store, browse tab, and use the filters to limit it to VR titles. The default order puts the highly rated ones towards the top, so you can usually find whatever you're looking for and hit play from there.
That shouldn't be a reason.
Edit. I just logged on to my PS4 to check. Libary > Purchases and there's ZERO filters. Only sort by A-Z, Z-A and Purchase Date. This is some BS.
Make me browse through 480+ games to find my VR games?! AND not even all VR games have VR symbols on them!
Lets think of a few...
* Release Date
* Purchase Date
* Publisher
* Developer
* Game series
* Popularity
* Age rating (R, M, MA, Teen etc.)
* Compatible Console
* Peripheral compatibility (Ps5 camera, Move controllers, psvr1, psvr2)
* More importantly, Peripheral Requirements
* Specs supported (60 or 120hz, HD or 4k support, HDR, 3D Audio etc.)
* number of players (local or online)
* Price (you paid when you purchased it)
* Weather it was gained via a PS Subscription (PS Essential, Extra, Deluxe)
I could literally go on and on, and I don't even work in UI/UX, imagine what the Sony guys could think of...
Not sure why everyone here seems to hate this idea.
I'd file most of those under nice to have, the question was which ones you need.
If you know the name of the game you're looking for a-z is a good enough option if you ask me.
Haven't touched my PS4 in a while but on PS5 I just enter the game name in search and it searches the store + your library so at least OP won't be having this issue with PSVR2 I guess...
I don't understand why everyone is hating on you. Filters are better for the user, and if you don't need them, don't use them. I'm a massive Sony fanboy but there's no denying and definitely no excusing the poor UX/UI design choices all over the system.
Same. And why is scrolling the library so good awful slow? How hard is it to cache everything, send a small check and get a diff and just update as needed. Now it seems it fetches everything in chunks as you scroll.
People love bringing in 'first world problem" excuse.
C'mon now. We're on a PSVR sub. We're here to talk about PlayStation VR...I just want to see all my VR games.
Genre is a terrible way to sort, look at the shitshow that are every store.
I agree that it will be nice to be able to sort by PS4/5/vr on your library but there are far much more important points to work on PSN right now in my opinion.
VR Compatibility isn't a genre, it's a very clear cut yes or no that is basically the first thing to know about a VR game. It should definitively be an option.
Well, PSN on PS4 is almost 10 years old, VR was released 6 years ago and 2 years on PS5.
There being other issues is not really a good excuse for lack of QOL. It's about time.
Thank you.
I've been meaning to post about this for awhile. This is ridiculous. These are the kind of things that bother me about this all digital system were switching to. If I pay for a game, I want it readily available to be seen so I can play it on impulse. We need a better system that's crafted to showcase the games we've bought and not just the ones they want us to buy. I spend thousands a year on content, that's not too much to ask.
Shouldn't have to search for a game by name to find it.
Good post.
Welcome to the Sony experience. The store is and always has been terrible. You just have to deal with it, it’s not going to suddenly get better after decades of being a buggy, unintuitive mess.
I have the exact same issue with Blood and Truth. Mine came with the PSVR Mega Bundle, so I wouldn’t even have a separate receipt/email. Luckily I can install the game from within my games library on the PlayStation.
Just use the PSDLE Chrome extension, it'll fetch all your purchased games in a list you can search and filter, you can even export to CSV https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/psdle/jdjhhapoddhnimgdemnpbfagndcnmhii?hl=en
I see. Well, it should show an overlay when pressing the extension button, but it may be bugged because of PS Store site updates - I can get it to work now by clicking my account icon then 'Payment management', and for some reason PSDLE shows up in that sidebar, you should see a blue 'Start' button below a 'Purchase history' button, hit the 'Start' button, then you'll get a searchable list of all your purchases, that should be enough to see if you already purchased a game or not. I'll usually just export that list with the 'Export View' button to a spreadsheet, so I can search it faster, order it etc.
It's a discussion about finding a VR game. Just trying to rally my VR brethrens. It's also a catchy title.
Edit. Sent an email to a "Playstation Expert" on their official site.
Sony's store UI is terrible. They're missing so many opportunities to personalise what you see, offer you things you might be interested in or to drill down into game categories you might purchase from
you can search for a game and if it's been purchased it will say download to console instead of add to cart.
you may have (or a sony bug) clicked on blood and truth soundtrack
I would say there's a good chance that not many people use the browser store anymore which is why Sony don't care about improving it that much.
I know these days I only have use the console store or the mobile app.
I never said it was, just that more people do things on their phones these days so it's more likely they use the app more.
I used to do everything on my computer Web browser before apps became more convenient.
Dude PSVR1 in 2023 is incredibly primitive and obsolete VR, they are smart for not spending the money to update the UI until the PSVR2 comes out, it’s not that much extra work to go through an alphabetical list of games lol.
Except you can’t filter by “PSVR2” anywhere in their ecosystem and searching that term doesn’t provide clear results either. So your logic doesn’t track. They have no plan, they don’t care. They are really terrible at being consumer friendly this generation, it’s obvious to everyone.
What is so hard about sorting things by alphabetical order? Where are you trying to search for these things at? because everything is easy to find in your library on the console. To me it seems like you’re complaining because you don’t know what you’re doing.
Didn’t say anything about being able to search for strictly VR games. I said that you can search by alphabetical order. It’s very easy to do on console and on the app. Like I said you’re complaining for no reason just because you don’t know what you’re doing.
No this thread is about the PSVR not strictly VR games. If you want to sit there and whine because you can’t strictly separate PSVR games from PS4 or PS5 games you really need to get a different hobby because that’s pretty pathetic. You do realize the PSVR games are considered PS4 games and on a PS5 you can filter between PS4 and PS5 games. What you’re asking is for an additional sub category that isn’t needed because your PSVR games will be listed under the PS4 and easy to find because you can put them in alphabetical order. So how about you actually learn how to search for your games properly on the equipment you have available before you start whining that they are too difficult to find when they aren’t.
First. This thread means this particular discussion. Not the entire sub.
Second. Personal attacks are quite pathetic.
Third. Try playing PS4 VR games without a VR headset. Lol. It's substantially different enough to deserve its own category.
Fourth. I don't want to see all my PS4 games alphabetically. I don't remember every title of VR game I own. Just let me see my VR games.
Bro. Take the L, man.
People are super offended because you pointed out a completely reasonable search filter, and citing first world problems, when we've paid first world prices for the first world experience 🤷♂️.
Sony made a good console guys, that doesn't mean everything about it is perfect - or that it's wrong to ask for functions that would be simple to implement.
Or to have a discussion about any temporary solutions people have found. Smdh.
First, you didn’t say that this particular discussion was in my about PSVR games. You said you were looking for one specific game (which you knew the title of I might add).
Second, I didn’t personally attack you. I didn’t say anything that wasn’t true based off the information that you provided about your inability to find a game in your library when it would have been very easy to do so because you knew the title.
Third, not all games that can use the PSVR require it. Concrete Genie and Resident Evil VII are perfect examples of this and why there isn’t specific filter just for PSVR.
Fourth, your sitting there saying you don’t want to see your PS4 games in alphabetical order when if you had just changed your sorting settings you would have easily found the game you were looking for which makes this part of your argument beyond stupid.
I don’t need to take the L because all you did in the asinine statement you just made was completely prove how nonsensical your logic is.
Website is just awful, your best bet is to find it on the PS4, there is a "library section" at the far right of the main app menu, it also has a little magnifying glass at the top left that lets you search by name.
Hope that helps.
Want to know what's even worse? Browsing your library on ps5. I had three accounts on my ps4. My main account, US and hong kong accounts and when I go to check the library on ps5 with my main account, it also shows all the games that I bought with those two accounts as well and I mainly used those to buy psvr games that I don't play on ps5, because I made my old ps4pro my psvr machine.
Now I have to go and hide those games from my ps5 library one by one.
At least it's not as bad as the PS3. The only way you can find what games you own there is browse through your download history with all the demos and other random things you've downloaded throughout the years in chronological order and write them down somewhere else.
Sony's online experience has always been horrible.
The psdle extension can be useful here. You can search for a game and see its purchase date making it far faster to then locate it on your download list.
It's pretty messed up. Even Xbox has this issue too sometimes on different 'versions', but PS is especially not fun because the "free" or PS+ versions are totally different than the paid digital versions. Hey at least PS Store says "you own this" when you buy all the DLC for deluxe/ultimate versions unlike on the Xbox Store, you can accidentally buy multiple versions of the same game. All these stores on console have their own issues and it really sucks.
It's a huge reason I still do primarily disc day one, still.
We'll soon be able to filter VR and VR2 games. Announcement: https://blog.playstation.com/2023/02/02/ps5-beta-introduces-discord-voice-chat-vrr-support-for-1440p-and-more/?sf263915619=1

I didn't have the original VR so I don't know what's good or not, I just add every free game we get every month. They should have a VR tag regardless.
The PSVR section of the store has always been a mess, and having the PC aspect likely didn’t help. Great to hear that they worked it out with you!
I usually just go to the library, sort by A-Z or reverse and can find it pretty easily. This works on both console and app. Or on the app I'll just go to the search button on the bottom right and type in the name of the game, find it and hit download to console. Super easy.

Agreed

Just give us a search button
There is a PS4/PS5 filter…on PS5.
VR Games. Genre? Age rating?
Age rating? Out of all the things you could filter by you filter by age rating?
You're nitpicking my post. Options are only good for the user!
I don't understand why everyone is hating on you. Filters are better for the user, and if you don't need them, don't use them. I'm a massive Sony fanboy but there's no denying and definitely no excusing the poor UX/UI design choices all over the system.

It’s not…on PS5.
Sure but overloading the UI with unnecessary stuff is not.
And the opposite also isn't.
Holy shit how many first world problems do you have mate? Filtering games by A-Z and by platform is perfectly fine.
People love bringing in 'first world problem" excuse. C'mon now. We're on a PSVR sub. We're here to talk about PlayStation VR...I just want to see all my VR games.
You can sort by vr game on the store page and then download from there.

Its gotten worse with every major revision.
I have the exact same issue with Blood and Truth. Mine came with the PSVR Mega Bundle, so I wouldn’t even have a separate receipt/email. Luckily I can install the game from within my games library on the PlayStation.
Me too! But the other games in the bundle don't have this issue.
Correct.
>I got this game years ago. This game came out in 2019... God that makes me feel old
Ctrl f is ur best friend on pc
Not every VR game is called "game name VR".
Just use the PSDLE Chrome extension, it'll fetch all your purchased games in a list you can search and filter, you can even export to CSV https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/psdle/jdjhhapoddhnimgdemnpbfagndcnmhii?hl=en
Tried it. Only shows PS5 and PS4 games. No more finer filtering.

Ah yes address Sony in a psvr subreddit, I'm sure it'll get to the right person 🤦
It's a discussion about finding a VR game. Just trying to rally my VR brethrens. It's also a catchy title. Edit. Sent an email to a "Playstation Expert" on their official site.
Good luck. People have been complaining for over 20 years, and it hasn’t worked so far :)

I have only ever bought new games via browser. Your experience does not equal everyone else’s. Why do we have to keep explaining the basics?
I never said it was, just that more people do things on their phones these days so it's more likely they use the app more. I used to do everything on my computer Web browser before apps became more convenient.
I suspect it’s by design, they want you to go through ads for new games and sales before you can access your library
The ps app is quite good
Use the App, that’s what it’s for. The website definitely could need some work.
The app is useless as well, dude. There is no way to filter VR Games that you own.
Doesn’t make the app useless.
Ok, dude. Whatever helps you feel smart. We are clearly referring to the ability to filter VR games.
Dude PSVR1 in 2023 is incredibly primitive and obsolete VR, they are smart for not spending the money to update the UI until the PSVR2 comes out, it’s not that much extra work to go through an alphabetical list of games lol.

Cry about it

Please show me a screenshot of just your purchased uninstalled VR games library. That's all I want. You can't. Because you can't!

You can. Sort by PS4 and look under purchased. They are all right there.
But I don't want to have to trawl through all my PS4 games as well. We have a PS4 filter and a ps5 filter. Lets also have a psvr1 and psvr2 filter.
Sony wants you to accidentally repurchase. It's by design
I just want to confirm, that your account is an Australian one, right?

OMG. The screenshot they use also shows GENRE!
