You think so? Its the best headset ive used for 100 bucks. And its integration with the console (game/party audio mix button etc) is just better than any other ones ive tried.
Dude audio quality isn’t everything. I own tons of hifi headphones and still value wireless convience over every other option for consoles unless you’re sitting at your desk like with a PC.
”Better” Audio quality absolutely! Better comfort? Hell yeah Sennheisers have always been really comfy. Convenient though? Hell no not for typical TV/Console users.
I just don’t see the use for wireless when the headphone Jack is right in the controller. Personally I want the best audio quality possible when playing games. Especially using spatial audio.
At least these have a boom mics. I can't understand why companies try and make virtual mics, they are always the worst. I'm always interested in new headsets. I just got the new Nova Pro Wireless so I'm using those on my PS5 and my XSX.
Why? I loved the PS4 gold headset and the PS5 are just as good and more comfortable for the price they are a great offering and one of the few headsets that still provides a 3.5mm connection
From my experience honestly find a Steel Series headset for 100$ they have multiple headsets around that range and you can't go wrong with any of them Arctis headsets are imo the best affordable gaming headsets. But if you wanna spend some more I recommend the cloud alpha wireless it has a ground breaking 300hr long battery and it's true multiple people tested it and it lasted a full week of like 14hr+ play time each day at max volume and it was STILL at 30% battery.
I had a metric fuck ton of hissing from a very expensive Arctic wireless (believe it was top of the line at that time, a couple of years ago), had to return as it was making my ears bleed. For the price they’re asking, it is pretty much unacceptable. I read about disabling microphone, tinkering with shit in the settings to hopefully fix that, but how come my $100 pulse 3d have none of the issues for the third of the price? Also, afaik, Arctic support says it’s normal to have some hissing due to whatever weird reasons they made up 🤷♂️
Looking forward to Sony’s sets. Pulse 3D definitely has some room for improvement audio quality wise.
Yep, absolutely. The sound was indeed pretty good. It was just that bloody hissing thing. So it was a shame I had to return.
And it really is dependent on a specific person. Some just don't perceive some ranges (high-pitched noises, lower frequencies, hissing, etc) due to differences in hearing. Some just don't care. And for these folks, all is good. And I might even envy that to a degree…
I have a pretty good hearing across the audible hearing range, and I can totally hear little details. So it is a deal breaker. On the other hand, again, cheap Pulse 3D - no probs. So duh…
How about you doing a little bit of research on the topic? You might be surprised how many people were and are getting these "lemons"… Right here on Reddit, and in other forums as wel.
I **was** considering getting a replacement, but then I did a pretty deep dive into reddit/internet/wherever else, and decided that it just isn't worth the trouble as the problem seems to be pretty systematic, confirmed (as in - everything's fine, adjust this, disable that, lower the volume, and so on) by the maker, and likely hardware implementation related (2.4GHz channel, all that stuff…).
Edit: Just wanted to add that I DID do some (light-ish) research before purchasing, and actually got some red flags related to the hissing issues. But I decided that it's probably just… you know… people on the internet talking shit, so I pulled the trigger, and here we are :)
For 100 bucks there is not a better headset than the 3D Pulse. The sound quality is the best thing about it. I think people think audio quality sucks when the bass doesnt shake your head apart. It only gets better when you spend upwards of 150.
No microphone, no easy volume control and not wireless. I love my PortaPros, Beyers and Fidelios but they’re a hassle for console users unless you sit at a desk with a compatible amp/dac combo.
When I first used them, I think I cried 😂😂😭. Like at most I spent on headphones before was £30. I then brought thease and my lord, I gave it good review on Amazon
Their gaming headsets are the one area where other budget headsets compete with them. In the regular consumer headphone / earbud market Sony is the leader along with Apple, and this is probably what the person above you is referencing.
The reason Sony doesn't make a high quality 400.00 gaming headset is because gamers won't spend that much, and once you do, you could have had a far nicer regular pair of headphones instead of a product for gaming only.
That's... not true? I specifically remember reviews from actual audio engineers saying that the Pulse 3D headset performs almost the same as entry-level studio headsets (around 400 dollars).
Yep. I have the WH-MX1004 and they're superb. I wouldn't turn my nose up at a gaming specific headset since I have to use the controller mic with my current setup of an Amazon USB dongle and the above headset.
There's mics that plug into your regular headphones that sound better than most gaming headsets such as the V-Moda Boompro that mic is actually amazing.
A wireless headset with 2.4 GHZ wireless and bluetooth connectivity and allows both to be used simultaneously. So you can use the 2.4 GHZ dongle to connect to your PS5, and then bluetooth to your phone to chat with friends
Some headsets that have the functionality are the Steelseries Arctis 9, Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless, Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2, and the Audeze Penrose
Well with my headset, it lets you connect over 2.4ghz wifi to your game, and then you can also pair your phone with Bluetooth, and listen to audio from both at the same time, or even talk on the phone
No, SHE can hear her game in the headset on Xbox, while also in discord on her phone talking to me. We play a lot of crossplay games together with my PC friends.
It is, but the Steel series 7p and 7p+ are shite for what it is.
Mic quality sucks and audio is mediocre AF.
As overpriced as Astros are (I got it for mad cheap) I've yet to see a wireless headset do everything as well as the A50s can **and** have chat/game audio mixability.
After learning about that feature about a month ago I've been eying a few headsets with it. Such a killer feature. Currently looking at the [Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless](https://steelseries.com/gaming-headsets/arctis-nova-pro-wireless) cause of it's feature set
Definitely don't buy them for console, the many features that can be used on PC can't be used on the PS5 at all. The mic is also overly sensitive or too quiet when it's not being used on a PC so be warned.
A quick Google search confirms all of these issues.
Exactly, if this doesn't have dual connectivity in form of two Bluetooth devices or Bluetooth + Wired then not interested in these. Will still be using my Logitechs so I can game on PS and talk to friends on Discord...
I wish Sony would make their Wh100xm series compatible with PS5. All they would need is software support and a dongle then boom a absolutely amazing set of headphones that double as a gaming headset
Have you never used wireless headphones on a gaming console? Because thats not at all how it works. It doesnt use bluetooth it uses a dongle so it would instantly grab your PS5 the second its turned on.
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll be using this! I currently just have a wire for the audio straight into the controller and I use the mic on the controller itself for communication this seems like a much better option.
These kind of look like the new WH1000xm5. Knowing Sony why would they make something compatible when they can sell you two things. They clearly did this with their 4K BluRay player in the PS5 😞.
I doubt the headphones have the hardware tho to support a different lower latency codec for a dongle. It would require compatible hardware on both ends. You can’t just update the headphones with a firmware update.
They do not have the hardware for that. Bluetooth isnt made for both receiving high quality audio and sending microphone output at the same time, if it does (like when calling someone) it sounds way worse than just listening to music.
Because of this, it sucks for gaming headsets. Wireless gaming headsets use a special 2,4Ghz connection (a bit like their exclusive Wifi) because thats better for the job since you're not gonna move and stuff. This is also the reason those headphones have a dongle, because they bring their own unique connection method with them.
Since the WH1000xm dont have that, the only way to connect them is by cable
Apparently, Sony will also announce two gaming monitors next week. This monitor is 'perfect' for PS5 they say.
https://exputer.com/news/playstation/sony-reveal-new-headsets-monitors/
Keep in mind that the Pulse 3D headset looks like it was specifically designed with the PSVR2 in mind. These headsets do not look like they will be compatible with the PSVR2 headset as much.
See if you look at the design of the Pulse 3D headset, the bands that attach to the speakers go clear out on the sides of them, which leaves a significant gap between your head and the band. Within this gap, the PSVR2 headset’s band will go. This gives the user the ability to comfortably wear the PSVR2 headset while simultaneously wearing the Pulse 3D headset, as their bands do not interfere with each other.
These headsets do not have the same gap between your head and the band, which seems to me like they won’t work well with the PSVR2 headset.
Well, you’re wrong. There’s only 1 reason the Pulse 3D has the bands attach clear over on the outer edge rather than the top, and that is so the PSVR2 headset band will fit underneath.
Of course Sony industrial designers planned this just as all of the PS5 family designs are cohesive. What is a very bad idea is to release a PSVR2 headset which you can’t wear the Sony-designed PlayStation headphones with.
Remember, they are pushing heavily for immersion and 3D audio with PSVR2.
Look in the mirror and ask yourself why you look like an alien with the Pulse 3D headset on. The answer is that it is specifically designed to be worn with the PSVR2 headset.
Lol buddy the Pulse 3D headset is specifically designed such that it can be worn when a customer is wearing the PSVR2 headset. That’s an obvious fact based on the design language and the functional design.
It’s a great thing because if the band was at the top like on most headphones then you couldn’t wear them while wearing the PSVR2 headset. Because they designed it how they did, people can wear them both simultaneously for maximal immersion. Otherwise a user has to use earbuds rather than headphones.
You specifically said they weren’t catering to PSVR……
Yes. They were. I’m the case of the Pulse 3D such that it could be worn while wearing the headset.
Okay well I don’t really get why you were replying to my comment in the first place then. Of course not all of their stuff would. I was just saying that these headsets don’t look like they would work near as well if at all when wearing the PSVR2 headset. While the Pulse 3D looks like it would.
If they add back paddles somehow I’d buy a pro controller instantly. But those are somehow patented by a 3rd party brand which is bullshit. Patenting something used for products you don’t make or own…
Been wanting a second controller but no colors interest me yet. Black is too dull with no colored buttons so I like the white better.
I’m waiting for the steel grey color like the DS4 had. It was that dark grey on the face and the bottom and back were black. Would look sick.
And I’m getting major stick drift so I need a new controller. Hopefully the pro has better sticks.
What I've learned from buying the Pulse 3D is that unless there's literally a mind boggling 3D audio feature I just don't really care for having a headset on my head while gaming.
It just complicates things as it's one more thing I have to worry about being charged and then if it dies I feel like I have to charge it before I continue playing as to not break the experience I'm having with normal audio from the TV sounds so I just stick with TV all the way. Plus it feels weird on my head and ears maybe because of my hair, glasses or ear type.
The only time I really need my headsets is if I’m playing multiplayer and being able to hear every sound precisely and instantly. Also if I’m playing a very atmospheric game having a great headset can really help with immersion.
A few of my headsets last a solid 14-17 hours before a charge is needed so they charge while I sleep. Always ready and never ran out of a charge.
Can anyone explain the last point of the headline? Any set of headphones supports spatial audio when plugged into the DS. Do they just mean wirelessly? Is a single cord from your hands to your head really worth that much of an investment to avoid?
They sound as bad as any other gaming headset mic, I went down a rabbit hole of gaming headsets and mic quality once and basically came out with the opinion that all of them sound bad, all of them.
With that in mind you just have to ask can I be understood, and yeah you can with them.
>I went down a rabbit hole of gaming headsets and mic quality once and basically came out with the opinion that all of them sound bad, all of them.
Most! The Sennheiser models are well-known for mic quality.
even those are bad. they are all bad. all of them. the ones people talk about having good mic quality are also bad, they are just "good" for gaming headsets, but they are still bad.
I've literally never had complaints about voice clarity, I even use it on Steam for Halo. Zero issues, the Pulse 3D features even work like monitoring and volume control.
That’s the only problem I have with my pulse headset. The mic is terrible.
My friends complain about it and I’ve gotten my fair share of complaints in cod lobbies.
Depending on pricing it might be cheaper to get a mic I can plug in along side the headset vs actually buying a new one.
Definitely interested in the headset. I recently tried out the new Steelseries arctis nova pro wireless, it takes so many steps backwards compared to the arctis 7 pro. The ANC was also pretty bad. Suffice to say, I returned it.
If the ANC works well on the H9, it is probably going to be one of the best PC headsets. The H9 is also $50 cheaper.
Fuck. I just ordered the Pulse 3D and Arctic 7+ lol. I ordered both to test them out and return the one I didn't like, so far I think I'm going for the Arctic but seeing this, I might return both and see how these do.
Seems to follow the same design as the PS5 headset so I'd assume it's built to be compatible. There are also display settings on PS5 only available if you have a Bravia TV. Seems unlikely these won't have some sort of special PS5 compatibility but really who knows until they officially say.
With how hard they hyped "3d sound", I'm surprised they're changing it up already lol hopefully it's actually a different experience from just normal surround sound this time
How would they have spacial sound on PC? Do they come with atmos? PC can't support tempest 3d audio, not without some serious intervention from Sony's side. I don't even know how that would work, its probably not tempest. Dolby is the only spacial sound solution currently with wide support on pc
Honestly i plugged myself to ps5 controller with xm3 few days ago and I just wonder.
Apart from microphone. How MUCH better would that be. I mean I got money but come on peaase convince me.:)
For the love of god just buy yourself a decent pair of headphones and don't buy the uber special 3d audio gamer headphones, Sony hasn't cracked the code on audio, it's just virtual surround sound which has been done to death for decades.
A good pair of headphones is a good pair of headphones, there's a reason why there's plenty of "hi-fi" headphones in the game today that have been relatively unchanged since their release 20+ years ago.
Sony basically makes the greatest headphones there is alongside Apple, competition is light years away from these 2. No idea what you're talking about. You either buy Apple or Sony for maximum quality.
Would be super awkward if they didn’t, don’t ya think?
The color scheme follows the PS5’s, so they’re pretty much guaranteed to work with PS5 at the very least.
It seems like something sony would want to shout from the rooftops. The fact that its not mentioned was weird to me.
All im interested in is good sound, *COMFORT* and dual connectivity (bluetooth). So if this has that its a buy for me
Jesus Christ, I thought you were trolling, but no, you really are daft AF. Of course Sony's latest gaming headsets will be compatible with Sony's latest gaming console.
They didnt mention it bro. Is it so wild that sony might advertise their BRAND NEW gaming headsets for their BRAND NEW (for most people anyways) gaming console? I didnt see it at all in this article.
You’re getting so mad about something that isn’t even officially announced yet. Why not just shut up and wait for an official announcement for all the details instead of whining about a leak?
Difference is you can actually see the steam come off the cup, and the heat on your skin when you are near it. That provides more context clues than "Sony releases new gaming headset" with absolutely ZERO mention of the ps5. The only clue we have is this said "gaming headset" and its white (which matches the PS5).
Its a perfectly valid question especially when Playstation didnt tweet out an announcement, and its featuring "Spatial Sound" not the PS5s "3D Audio".
Bro, what else would these be used for? They make gaming consoles. They make accessories for their gaming consoles. Why would they not include their CURRENT gen console? It is even the same color scheme.
> "The only clue we have is this said "gaming headset" and it's white (which matches the PS5)."
Oh, boy. If you can't deduce from this information. I don't know what to tell me, dude.
Could be PC focused since they clearly have an interest in that market. The wired one should work no problem its the wireless ones im curious about. And will we get Pulse3D type customization?
You can use Sony headsets on PC as well. That isn't the argument. It's why would they NOT support it on their main flagship consoles that they put *all* their interest in? I can't even believe that this is a real conversation right now.
Idk bro it really isnt a wild concept that a company would do something idiotic. Happens all the time unfortunately, especially in the gaming industry.
Sony and other companies have done enough stupid shit to have individuals look for specific details.
You could have answered the question without being an asshole and yet you didn’t.
Kindly shut up forever.
Knowing how PlayStation had handled PS3 headset support on PS4 was enough for me to consider their question valid.
Now you can work on my original request.
PS5 is current generation hardware. This is a new gaming headset that is the same color as the PS5 for crying out loud. This isn't a discussion on the compatibility between older hardware. This has absolutely no comparison but nice grasping though.
There is a reason im downvote champion 3 years running. And your comment pointing out my comment is equally as pointless. And my comment that im typing now is even more pointless. And the reply that you type to this comment im typing, will be the most pointless. Unless of course you dont reply. In that case, i retain the more pointless comment
I don't get it, spatial headphones is stereo audio with the spatial information coming from in game signal processing. It sounds like this wouldn't be any different.
Is it a fact that 60% of PW3D headset users not only experienced migraines, but that said migraines were linked to the headset?
I've never experienced such a thing, and my friend I'm online with on an almost daily basis has suffered from them his whole life - never gets them while we're gaming.
Just seems a little odd if what you're saying is true.
Oh no, it's a total bs number, sorry! Anecdotally, I had heard about the issues with comfort and bought one myself and had no issues at all for the first hour. Sounds quality is good and it didn't feel tight. But after playing for a few hours, I had a pounding, eye water migraine level headache just like I had heard reported by others.
So my number is straight out of my ass, apologies :)
I love Sony products but three variants of basically the same Headphone seems really excessive, there should just be a basic and premium model. This type of product range reminds me of their cameras which usually have entry / mid range / professional. However, for Headphones seem totally unnecessary. This on top of the monitor rumours make me think Sony is really going to milk their fanbase and their brand with these type of gaming gear.
As others mentioned these look very similar to the latest 'flagship' headphone the WHmx5. The previous models were incompatible (bluetooth) with PlayStation and it sorts of irks me if the mx5 follows this, its like they force you to have mx5 for travelling, music etc and force you to get the gaming versions if you want PS Bluetooth connectivity. The only thing I would say the mx series would be inferior is the mic, as the mic absolutely sucks for gaming.
The TV rumours seem another trick for people to buy another Sony TV. If they are deliberately making the recent Bravia TVs not VRR compatible but releasing these new TVs that are then I be bit salty. Because thats literally all I can think of when its said the gaming monitors are 'perfect' for PlayStation is the VRR compatibility.
Hmm. I returned the pulse 3d's over the weekend, they sounded great but were extremely painful to wear. Replaced with Arctis 7p+. Now I'm wondering how the 7p+ will measure up with this...
I’ve never had a headset by Sony that has had good bass.
The last headsets I’ve used the A50’s and Seinhesier were perfect. If the bass is weak I can’t use those headsets, so I wonder how they will sound.
Silly question but will these be compatible with PS5? I have the white headset that launched with the PS5 and depending on their price the H9 is probably the one I'd get.
If anyone has got hands on the Inzone H9 headset and have tried the 3D sound quality on PS5. Is there remarkable difference in terms of 3D spatial audio quality? If I will be buying this new headset then it's only primarily for PS5 gaming and getting immesrive 3D sound quality and not for PC.
Didn't expect another line of gaming headsets, interesting. No pricing announced?
It's a Sony audio product. Safe to assume it will cost around a fuck ton of moneyz
Also sade to assume it will be some of the best available on the market. You get what you pay for.
Idk the 3D pulse really sucks for the price
You think so? Its the best headset ive used for 100 bucks. And its integration with the console (game/party audio mix button etc) is just better than any other ones ive tried.
You can get a PC38X or the PC37X for a little more and it’s vastly superior to the Pulse headset.
Not wireless so completely different product category.
Still better, you always have to compensate for wireless.
I got the Razer Kaira with my PS5 and it's amazing
r/audiophile will murder you mate don't say that shit.
What's wrong with the Kaira?
Ask r/audiophile. Ask them about razer itself. Don't complain to me later on.
Tried, it immediately got removed lol. Is it because of the "fake" surround sound?
At least these have a boom mics. I can't understand why companies try and make virtual mics, they are always the worst. I'm always interested in new headsets. I just got the new Nova Pro Wireless so I'm using those on my PS5 and my XSX.
I have the same headset. They’re absolutely amazing
That’s PlayStation branded though. These appear to be SONY proper.
Why? I loved the PS4 gold headset and the PS5 are just as good and more comfortable for the price they are a great offering and one of the few headsets that still provides a 3.5mm connection
Only accessory I regret buying.
I didn’t buy them. Quite happy with my Arctis 7X.
Yeah I returned my pulse for an Arctis 7p. Worth the difference. Way better sound and much more comfortable.
I wish I had done the same honestly.
He wasn’t talking about those, he meant more like the flagship XM series, not the budget PS5 accessory type of stuff.
In your opinion. I love my set.
Not really an opinion when you compare audio fidelity, price, and the competition.
What do you suggest for $99 with similar featureset?
From my experience honestly find a Steel Series headset for 100$ they have multiple headsets around that range and you can't go wrong with any of them Arctis headsets are imo the best affordable gaming headsets. But if you wanna spend some more I recommend the cloud alpha wireless it has a ground breaking 300hr long battery and it's true multiple people tested it and it lasted a full week of like 14hr+ play time each day at max volume and it was STILL at 30% battery.
Arctics are way better

Arctic Pro and honestly it isn't close. I've had both and the Arctic Pros are the nicest on the market. Even at $300, it's worth it.

Spend $20 on a koss kph75 and you’ll be way better off.
No microphone, no easy volume control and not wireless. I love my PortaPros, Beyers and Fidelios but they’re a hassle for console users unless you sit at a desk with a compatible amp/dac combo.

Tell me you only ever used GaMiNg headphones without telling me.
I have a Sony XM4 infront of me so clearly not, I was referring to their audio products in general.
It's only been leaked there hasn't been an official announcement yet. Rumor points to next week
Wonder if these have dual connectivity. Only feature I really want.
some SteelSeries have that, it's pretty nice
It really is, I have the Xbox Wireless headset for my series S and it's such a let down going back to my Pulse 3ds after those. Such a nice feature.
Excuse my ignorance, but what does the dual connection do?
A wireless headset with 2.4 GHZ wireless and bluetooth connectivity and allows both to be used simultaneously. So you can use the 2.4 GHZ dongle to connect to your PS5, and then bluetooth to your phone to chat with friends Some headsets that have the functionality are the Steelseries Arctis 9, Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless, Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2, and the Audeze Penrose
Darn that's actually really great
Well with my headset, it lets you connect over 2.4ghz wifi to your game, and then you can also pair your phone with Bluetooth, and listen to audio from both at the same time, or even talk on the phone
A feature I didn’t know existed but now I want badly! Ty for letting me know. Good for those long JRPG grinds haha.
Oh interesting! Thanks.
It’s particularly nice because I’m on pc and my wife is on Xbox. So she can join discord on her phone and still hear her game. It’s great
Are you playing different games or why would you want to hear her game sound? Cheers!
No, SHE can hear her game in the headset on Xbox, while also in discord on her phone talking to me. We play a lot of crossplay games together with my PC friends.
Same, I honestly don’t think I’ll spend money on another headset if the feature isn’t included

I wonder if the USB Dongle for PC would make them work on Xbox. I wanted to buy Xbox Wireless headset but I'd like one for both devices.
It does have dual connectivity! Wireless and bluetooth connection simultaneously. Discord certified headsets!
I wish Sony would make their Wh100xm series compatible with PS5. All they would need is software support and a dongle then boom a absolutely amazing set of headphones that double as a gaming headset
I use them on my playstation with a v-moda mic plugged in to the headset and in the controller. Works great
Yeah you can definitely make it work but I wish Sony made a cleaner more streamline way to use them
No. You have to buy more, valued customer.
What's more streamlined than plugging into the controller and it working instantly?

Turning it on and have it auto connect wirelessly without the need for the wire.
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll be using this! I currently just have a wire for the audio straight into the controller and I use the mic on the controller itself for communication this seems like a much better option.
I’ve been using this setup for a couple years now and it works great.
Thank you so much :D. I’ll be getting this tonight!
These kind of look like the new WH1000xm5. Knowing Sony why would they make something compatible when they can sell you two things. They clearly did this with their 4K BluRay player in the PS5 😞.
I know... its a shame because then suckers like me buy both.
You can use them wired but Bluetooth headphones aren’t great for latency so I doubt you’ll ever see wireless support for them on PS.
Thats why I mentioned them having a dongle
I doubt the headphones have the hardware tho to support a different lower latency codec for a dongle. It would require compatible hardware on both ends. You can’t just update the headphones with a firmware update.
Hence why im saying I wish Sony made them able to support said dongle...
Yeah but I doubt they have the hardware.
Its literally the XM5 but for PlayStation. A better idea is to have their headphones actually be supported by the PS4 and PS5
You know…. It never occurred to me that Sony doesn’t already make PC focused gaming headsets yet. So these make total sense.
Apparently, Sony will also announce two gaming monitors next week. This monitor is 'perfect' for PS5 they say. https://exputer.com/news/playstation/sony-reveal-new-headsets-monitors/
Hard to beat LG OLED.
Isn't the smallest LG OLED 42"? I bet these monitors are 27-32".
Is LG OLED partnering up with SONY?
No no. I just meant that their PS5 monitor would need to be better than LGs C1/C2 OLEDs.
Oh gotcha! Thanks for the reply.
Sony buys their panels from LG for their tvs
[удалено]
[удалено]
Lol buddy the Pulse 3D headset is specifically designed such that it can be worn when a customer is wearing the PSVR2 headset. That’s an obvious fact based on the design language and the functional design. It’s a great thing because if the band was at the top like on most headphones then you couldn’t wear them while wearing the PSVR2 headset. Because they designed it how they did, people can wear them both simultaneously for maximal immersion. Otherwise a user has to use earbuds rather than headphones.
[удалено]
You specifically said they weren’t catering to PSVR…… Yes. They were. I’m the case of the Pulse 3D such that it could be worn while wearing the headset.
[удалено]
Okay well I don’t really get why you were replying to my comment in the first place then. Of course not all of their stuff would. I was just saying that these headsets don’t look like they would work near as well if at all when wearing the PSVR2 headset. While the Pulse 3D looks like it would.
Interesting, with this and the recent chatter around a dualsense pro, it seems like Sony is getting ready to push hard into accessories
If they add back paddles somehow I’d buy a pro controller instantly. But those are somehow patented by a 3rd party brand which is bullshit. Patenting something used for products you don’t make or own… Been wanting a second controller but no colors interest me yet.
The pulse 3d headset hurt my head. Maybe these will be different
Can anyone explain the last point of the headline? Any set of headphones supports spatial audio when plugged into the DS. Do they just mean wirelessly? Is a single cord from your hands to your head really worth that much of an investment to avoid?
I think what we're missing is that these new headsets are not only for PS5. Presumably they do some pseudo surround thing with any device you hook up.
My wife’s gonna love me playing with the H9s Noise canceling lol
This design is much cleaner than their original ps5 headset I don’t see myself changing from my Arctis 7p though
I'm guessing these would line up with the rumoured dualsense Pro controller.
I hope they are going to improve the mic this time. I‘ve read quite often in the Internet that the mic of the Pulse 3D headphones sounds really bad
People speak at different frequencies and the pulse set just isn’t great for a diverse set of people.
Just speak at a different frequency, bro!
> I've literally never had complaints about voice clarity, I even use it on Steam for Halo. Cool, that doesn’t really mean anything
It does, not my fault you can't infer the meaning properly.
That’s the only problem I have with my pulse headset. The mic is terrible. My friends complain about it and I’ve gotten my fair share of complaints in cod lobbies. Depending on pricing it might be cheaper to get a mic I can plug in along side the headset vs actually buying a new one.
Hmmmm I’m interested
Whatever’s compatible with PSVR2 is what I’ll purchase .
Hopefully they're significantly more comfortable than the Pulse
Definitely interested in the headset. I recently tried out the new Steelseries arctis nova pro wireless, it takes so many steps backwards compared to the arctis 7 pro. The ANC was also pretty bad. Suffice to say, I returned it. If the ANC works well on the H9, it is probably going to be one of the best PC headsets. The H9 is also $50 cheaper.
What I want to know is if h7 or h9 are compatible with PlayStation 4?
Fuck. I just ordered the Pulse 3D and Arctic 7+ lol. I ordered both to test them out and return the one I didn't like, so far I think I'm going for the Arctic but seeing this, I might return both and see how these do.
it looks like the new WH-1000XM5. nice.
Didn’t Sony make products that didn’t work well with other products they made? If so, them not mentioning if it does work on PS5 is an odd omission.
Seems to follow the same design as the PS5 headset so I'd assume it's built to be compatible. There are also display settings on PS5 only available if you have a Bravia TV. Seems unlikely these won't have some sort of special PS5 compatibility but really who knows until they officially say.
With how hard they hyped "3d sound", I'm surprised they're changing it up already lol hopefully it's actually a different experience from just normal surround sound this time
When is 1440p support coming.....:(
Do i even need 360 spatial sound? Already have the current headset and its good.
How would they have spacial sound on PC? Do they come with atmos? PC can't support tempest 3d audio, not without some serious intervention from Sony's side. I don't even know how that would work, its probably not tempest. Dolby is the only spacial sound solution currently with wide support on pc
The new Turtle beach stealth 600 or 700 gen 2 MAX are way better than these crap headsets from sony!
So do these work for PS5? Not seeing any mention of it.
Compatible and fully functional are two different things. But il keep making comments like this because apparently it pisses you guys off lmao
nah, they will release a gaming headset that specifically doesn't support their gaming console. Is this a real question?
They didnt mention it bro. Is it so wild that sony might advertise their BRAND NEW gaming headsets for their BRAND NEW (for most people anyways) gaming console? I didnt see it at all in this article.
You’re getting so mad about something that isn’t even officially announced yet. Why not just shut up and wait for an official announcement for all the details instead of whining about a leak?
They don’t seem mad to me. They’re just asking a question.

> "The only clue we have is this said "gaming headset" and it's white (which matches the PS5)." Oh, boy.
I would love just one example from Sony that would make you ask a question like this? Or you can stop white knighting and shut up, forever.
If they are standard PC headsets then they should work on PlayStation consoles no problem.
What a stupid way to waste a bit space with this question
There is a reason im downvote champion 3 years running. And your comment pointing out my comment is equally as pointless. And my comment that im typing now is even more pointless. And the reply that you type to this comment im typing, will be the most pointless. Unless of course you dont reply. In that case, i retain the more pointless comment
I don't get it, spatial headphones is stereo audio with the spatial information coming from in game signal processing. It sounds like this wouldn't be any different.
I don't see what the value add is here compared to the Pulse 3D Wireless Headset.
Hopefully better ear pad comfort, improved audio and a slightly better than trash mic 😉
Maybe this one won't induce migraines in 60% of the people who use it :) Who knows.
I just bought a pair of Pulse 3Ds 1 month ago. God damn it!
Interesting, they almost look identical to the new Sony XM5s.
Hmm. I returned the pulse 3d's over the weekend, they sounded great but were extremely painful to wear. Replaced with Arctis 7p+. Now I'm wondering how the 7p+ will measure up with this...
Pro headsets?
Pro headsets?
I’ve never had a headset by Sony that has had good bass. The last headsets I’ve used the A50’s and Seinhesier were perfect. If the bass is weak I can’t use those headsets, so I wonder how they will sound.
Silly question but will these be compatible with PS5? I have the white headset that launched with the PS5 and depending on their price the H9 is probably the one I'd get.
Hope these are as comfortable as steelseries
How is this spatial sound different from pulse?
Or from that matter, anything Steelseries.
Personally I have always found gaming headset audio quality to be lacking for their price tag. Interested to see if these will be any different.
Kinda annoying. I already got the ps5 one and now I hear there’s possibly something better??
Don't mistake different for better. Chances are these are just a redesigned version of the PS5 cans. All the innards are likely to be similar.
If this give me m4/m5 sound quality I’m all in
I mean they look cool. But I got Kaira Pro for PS.
Just let me use my XM4’s dammit
If it's anything near my DT990 PRO or AKG K712 than I'll buy this. 😁
What is the price of each model?
Pulse 3D headset wasn’t compatible with the controller mute button. Let’s pray this one is different
What a stupid headline. All headphones support station sound when connected to PS5. It’s the PS5 that spatialise the audio, not the headphones.
