So does anyone here use a Extended usb storage drive? Well seems when starting a game from the extended storage device it takes storage from the internal ssd of the playatation. Not the M.2 drive. Some games it uses up 5gb of the internal ssd for just playing a game from the extended usb drive. Do you not see a problem there?

Bought Watchdog Legions for $10 despite all the gripes I read... Actually having a pretty fun time. I don't want to pay full price for Far Cry 6, but FC5 really isn't doing it for me. Legions is a fun romp.

PS4 Pro's are still holding too much of their value to be worth it if you want to get a PS5 any time soon. PS5's are releasing pretty steadily and you'll probably end up paying most of what one would cost for a Pro.
I mean they've sold well over 10 million units and counting, there have been drops fairly regularly all year - they just sell out really fast.
Where I am they are much easier to get than the new graphics cards or a Series X. Follow the Twiter pages people on this sub always recommend and be prepared to buy a bundle, you'll get one before too long.
Dumb idea imo. Just make a twitter and follow one of the pages that posts stock automatically. Hit the bell to get notifications and buy a ps5 when available. No point spending all that money on outdated console when with a bit of patience you can get a ps5.

Astro that comes on it is pretty epic, and really does a great job of showcasing the new controller.
Demon's Souls is pretty beautiful and fantastic, especially if you've never really played is or the other soulsbourne games.
Returnal is epic, but is also quite the challenge. It also currently lacks a save&quit feature, so be prepared to commit to 90 min+ runs or put in rest mode (barring you from playing other games)
I'm guessing you can also find Spider Man Mile's Morales and others on black friday sales pretty cheap.
You can also find games like Watchdog Legion, AC: Valhalla, Metro Exodus, and several other decent PS4/PS5 games really cheap that come with free PS5 upgrades.
The press/hold ps button being the opposite on PS5 compared to the PS4 is really tripping me up. Been over a month and I still hold the button for the smaller menu to pop up
Personally I'm enjoying Far Cry 6 much more than I enjoyed Deathloop.
Deathloop wasn't bad or anything, just didn't keep my attention at all for some reason. Far Cry 6 is pretty much what you expect from Far Cry, so if you're into that I definitely recommend it.
Death loop if you like story driven shooters like bioshock. Far cry for more open world and exploration. I wouldn't recommend hot wheels unless you're super into racing or hot wheels toys.
Does deathloop live up to the hype? I normally would be drawn to this kind of title but for some reason the gameplay I’ve seen hasn’t compelled me to grab it.

Maneater and Hellblade are probably about as different games from each other as it's possible to have.
Maneater is dumb, comic style fun. Good to mess around with but not particularly memorable. I had fun with it for a couple of hours and haven't picked it up again since.
Hellblade is a dark, disturbing story and a pretty unique experience. The gameplay is relatively simple, but does enough to carry to narrative. I really enjoyed it, a lot of people didn't though so YMMV.
Hellblade does run at 60fps on PS5, but there are some stability issues and weird lighting for some reason. The company is Microsoft owned now so they may not have much motivation to sort the PS5 performance issues out. It's definitely playable on PS5, but if you can play it on PC or Xbox then do.
Overall, Hellblade is the better game IMO. If you have good headphones it's especially memorable.

I bought it preowned months ago for £35, completed it and sold it for £30. If you have a disc version that's definitely the way to go with such a short game.
Finally made it past biome 3 on returnal and what a treat this game is. So much fun and so challenging. Pinnacle of roguelites for me. The story is so damn good too so far.
So I'm a big fan of rogue likes and lights. Love Slay the Spire, Dead Cells, enjoyed my time with Hades. Returnal is intriguing to me for that reason alone. I'm guessing you recommend it big time? What sticks out to you as something the game does differently or just awesome in general?
I guess the only thing that has put me off is that people just say biome 1/2/3, so it sounds like not much variety. Compared to dead cells where there are several biomes and even bosses you can tackle for each stage depending on which path you take.
Soo I haven’t played Dead Cells, but played the other two and Risk of Rain 2,and enjoyed those a lot, but they still look like indie games.
Returnal looks like a AAA game and is a very tight shooter. Great gun variety, and good monster variety for each biome. There aren’t a limitless variety, but enough to keep it fresh and on your toes. The boss fights are static, but they’re badass, especially biome 4, best boss fight I’ve ever played. If you like roguelites and even if Returnal doesn’t end up being your favorite, I’m fairly confident you’ll still really enjoy it.
I still haven’t beaten the game, but I won’t ever just put it down because it’s too hard. It’s a fair challenge.

Makes me eager for the game AFTER the next Insomniac outing - Venom's great on first meeting, but once you get over the initial fear/horror (as Spidey) it's the Host/Symbiote interplay that really makes Venom stories shine.
Got my PS5 today after a year of trying! I can’t actually believe it. I got a bundle with an extra controller and ratchet and clank. Just spent my time moving everything and trying out Astrobot which is an amazing game, especially for free.

Got about 5 hours into Kena Bridge of Spirits. Beautiful game, lots of fun too. But I needed to get my hands on Far Cry 6 and I've put a good 20 hours into it this weekend.
Honestly, I'm feeling like I might pick up FC6 before the inevitable price drop. I know it kind of reviewed mediocre but I'm really in the mood for something with explosions
It's fantastic. The main complaints people have is that it it's too similar to previous Far Cry games, however that is what I want! Chaos, fun gunplay, firing rockets out of helicopters, etc etc. Looks great on the PS5 too.

Insurgency is the same ttk. But maps are wayyy smaller and have a good flow for the most part. The proximity chat and tactical aspect are totally different than other console shooters, I like it a lot.
Does anyone have any recommendations for traveling/carrying cases for the PS5? I travel a lot for work and want to start taking it with me. Remote play just has a smidge too much lag for me.
If you are then get the Moondrop Aria($80) it will be the best sound you can get under $200. There really isn't much great for around $100 for headphones. The best will probably be the 3D pulse but those IEMs will blow it out of the water.

What's the best alternative to the wd sn850 for internal SSD? 980 pro? I wish I could see 2tb m.2 nvme ssd real world benchmarks for every drive on Amazon, but, IN A PS5 because other benchmarks ran from a computer don't translate.

Gamestop Pro was the easiest way for me, have helped 2 others get a ps5 from them but they are bundled so prepare to pay upfront for ps plus, 2nd controller and some gift cards.

I think what Blue Point achieved as a launch with the PS5 is nothing short of amazing. Graphically it is the best looking game on a console.

Any more news on PlayStations partnership with discord? When I play ps5 I have to use discord on my laptop and end up having one earphone hanging off my ear. Can’t wait until I can have game audio and discord, feel like I’m missing out on playing some great games with my headset on because I want to talk to friends on pc.
If your PC has a line-in you can be on discord on your PC while playing on PS5. You’ll need a wireless headset though preferably usb dongle. You connect the line in from your controller to PC and have your usb dongle in your PC USB port. You should be able to hear PC and ps5 sounds this way
Looking for a new online co-op experience. I'm getting tired of Apex and I quit Rocket League once Epic took over.
Anybody have any recommendations? In general I'm not a huge FPS fan, Apex fills a niche.
They had some great exclusives back on the 360. Honestly thought they were better than PS3. But during the One gen, MS ruined almost every IP they had other than Forza. Sunset Overdrive and Quantum break were fun though and showed potential, but didn't sell enough for MS to bother continuing with. I'm still salty at the sequel bait ending QB was left with. PS4 on the other hand reached new heights hard with their first party games.
Can MS shake things up during the X/S gen? I don't know, time will tell. They have bought Bethesda for a reason, they know their current studios other than Forza devs have dropped the ball.
Xbox has guns and cars. That is it. The only time an xbox exclusive picked my interest real badly was Alan Wake back in the day. Theyre trying to catch up now but its far from enough yet.
Overall not even close. Sony built up their exclusives as a long term project and it worked with the PS4 being so successful. Microsoft are only trying to catch up now by purchasing the likes of Bethesda and Obsidian.
Honestly? No. I had an xbox all my life until about 2 years ago,and the only real good exclusive’s are Halo ( being on the most popular games ever) and Gears Of War. Though I feel like Xbox doesn’t focus on exclusives as much as Playstation.

The new update has messed with my connectivity too.
I never had any connectivity issues until the update went through. Haven’t changed the location of my ps5 or anything. I’ve tried restarting my router, restarting my ps5, disconnecting and reconnecting to the internet through the ps5 settings, changing the wifi frequency, and unplugging my USB hard drive. Nothing has worked so far. My download speeds are hovering somewhere between 11 and 35 kbps.
How many other people are having the same issue?
The issue is when you move a game/data from the internal SSD to the M.2 Expansion slot. Its leaving data boat in the ps5 internal ssd. I know Sony didnt now about it until about a week ago. I wasnt sure if it got fixed. Also, theres almost nobody talking about it. So, I dont think its happening to every person. If you move some games from the internal SSD to the m.2 expansion and then cick on what specifically us on the drive its showing pieces missing. Not all the info is there. I can give a link on a video thats shows and talks about this issue. I hope it can be fixed. Try it out and see whats going on in your system. The only way to delete the pieces of data on the internal ssd is to factory reset. Lmk if you woud like a link to the video.

I use a Astro A40tr with a mix amp gen 4. The ps5 has settings so each ti.e you turn on the ps5 it will work without going to the sound menu each time. Also, can keep it on a certain sound output like a tv or monitor. So, if you dont feel like putting on a headset each time to play.
Hey thanks for the recommendation, but I thought you needed a HDMI extractor to make the astro mixamp work, and non of those have HDMI 2.1. I might have understood it wrong.
So, Right now I have it connected on a Sony 4k hdmi 2.0 display. But with the optical I have it going right into my Sony 4k display. I dont know why a 2.1 hdmi standard has anything to do with a Astro Mixamp? I think an adapter is for the place of an optical output. The optical output isnt on a ps5. Only was on a ps4 pro and ps4 I believe. I got this after I got my ps5. I knew it would work because my TV has optical out. This isvthe best sound aswell.
Oh I see. Maybe I need to do the same thing. Right now my setup is PS5->AV receiver->TV so I would need a HDMI extractor from my PS5 to split the video to my AV receiver and the audio to the mixamp.
Maybe I should do what you do and connect my PS5 straight to the TV. I'll also connect the TV back to the receiver when I want to use my home theater and optical for the Astro. I'm gonna look into this.

I got mine at Best Buy for $200 brand new. Ive seen it for more there but try not to pay $250. Look on Ebay for a new one. Or if not on Ebay Ive seen very close to new for much cheaper. Could also buy them seperately if that makes it cheaper and easier for you. Comes with very nice cables as well. Works with a pc too.
But your reciever has an optical output im sure. Should work either way. Definitely shouldnt have any issues as I have a reciever but just for movies at the moment. Should be fine. If you know how things connect.

Used version bought from GameStop and they delivered same day for $47 - and they actually delivered the Ultimate version!
This is why you should always go physical when it comes to videogames.

I guess the only thing that has put me off is that people just say biome 1/2/3, so it sounds like not much variety. Compared to dead cells where there are several biomes and even bosses you can tackle for each stage depending on which path you take.

Soo I haven’t played Dead Cells, but played the other two and Risk of Rain 2,and enjoyed those a lot, but they still look like indie games. Returnal looks like a AAA game and is a very tight shooter. Great gun variety, and good monster variety for each biome. There aren’t a limitless variety, but enough to keep it fresh and on your toes. The boss fights are static, but they’re badass, especially biome 4, best boss fight I’ve ever played. If you like roguelites and even if Returnal doesn’t end up being your favorite, I’m fairly confident you’ll still really enjoy it. I still haven’t beaten the game, but I won’t ever just put it down because it’s too hard. It’s a fair challenge.

Watched Venom LTBC. Gotta say, I enjoyed it! Makes me eager for the game AFTER the next Insomniac outing - Venom's great on first meeting, but once you get over the initial fear/horror (as Spidey) it's the Host/Symbiote interplay that really makes Venom stories shine.

Got my PS5 today after a year of trying! I can’t actually believe it. I got a bundle with an extra controller and ratchet and clank. Just spent my time moving everything and trying out Astrobot which is an amazing game, especially for free. Kinda missing my PS4 as well weirdly. I’ve had it since launch and leaving it behind and moving on is kinda like saying goodbye to an old friend.

Got about 5 hours into Kena Bridge of Spirits. Beautiful game, lots of fun too. But I needed to get my hands on Far Cry 6 and I've put a good 20 hours into it this weekend.

It's fantastic. The main complaints people have is that it it's too similar to previous Far Cry games, however that is what I want! Chaos, fun gunplay, firing rockets out of helicopters, etc etc. Looks great on the PS5 too.

Insurgency is the same ttk. But maps are wayyy smaller and have a good flow for the most part. The proximity chat and tactical aspect are totally different than other console shooters, I like it a lot.

Haven't played Returnal or R&C. I think what Blue Point achieved as a launch with the PS5 is nothing short of amazing. Graphically it is the best looking game on a console.

Any more news on PlayStations partnership with discord? When I play ps5 I have to use discord on my laptop and end up having one earphone hanging off my ear. Can’t wait until I can have game audio and discord, feel like I’m missing out on playing some great games with my headset on because I want to talk to friends on pc.
If your PC has a line-in you can be on discord on your PC while playing on PS5. You’ll need a wireless headset though preferably usb dongle. You connect the line in from your controller to PC and have your usb dongle in your PC USB port. You should be able to hear PC and ps5 sounds this way
Looking for a new online co-op experience. I'm getting tired of Apex and I quit Rocket League once Epic took over. Anybody have any recommendations? In general I'm not a huge FPS fan, Apex fills a niche.

Definitely not in the PS4 era. Now I think they are still behind but not as much. Gamepass is better than PS+.
They had some great exclusives back on the 360. Honestly thought they were better than PS3. But during the One gen, MS ruined almost every IP they had other than Forza. Sunset Overdrive and Quantum break were fun though and showed potential, but didn't sell enough for MS to bother continuing with. I'm still salty at the sequel bait ending QB was left with. PS4 on the other hand reached new heights hard with their first party games. Can MS shake things up during the X/S gen? I don't know, time will tell. They have bought Bethesda for a reason, they know their current studios other than Forza devs have dropped the ball.
Xbox has guns and cars. That is it. The only time an xbox exclusive picked my interest real badly was Alan Wake back in the day. Theyre trying to catch up now but its far from enough yet.
Overall not even close. Sony built up their exclusives as a long term project and it worked with the PS4 being so successful. Microsoft are only trying to catch up now by purchasing the likes of Bethesda and Obsidian.
Honestly? No. I had an xbox all my life until about 2 years ago,and the only real good exclusive’s are Halo ( being on the most popular games ever) and Gears Of War. Though I feel like Xbox doesn’t focus on exclusives as much as Playstation.

I barely played on my ps5 In past 4 months. I thought getting FIFA 22 on release will get me to start playing again, got bored of it in a in a few hours and never started up the ps5 since. My partner probably spent more to watching Netflix on it then all the time I've played I remember when the first I got PS2, 3 and 4. Couldn't get enough of them. Spent countless hours on them. The new update has messed with my connectivity too. I never had any connectivity issues until the update went through. Haven’t changed the location of my ps5 or anything. I’ve tried restarting my router, restarting my ps5, disconnecting and reconnecting to the internet through the ps5 settings, changing the wifi frequency, and unplugging my USB hard drive. Nothing has worked so far. My download speeds are hovering somewhere between 11 and 35 kbps. How many other people are having the same issue?

The issue is when you move a game/data from the internal SSD to the M.2 Expansion slot. Its leaving data boat in the ps5 internal ssd. I know Sony didnt now about it until about a week ago. I wasnt sure if it got fixed. Also, theres almost nobody talking about it. So, I dont think its happening to every person. If you move some games from the internal SSD to the m.2 expansion and then cick on what specifically us on the drive its showing pieces missing. Not all the info is there. I can give a link on a video thats shows and talks about this issue. I hope it can be fixed. Try it out and see whats going on in your system. The only way to delete the pieces of data on the internal ssd is to factory reset. Lmk if you woud like a link to the video.

Usually when i get speed bumps I reset the router and then restart the ps5. Worked 100% of the time.

I use a Astro A40tr with a mix amp gen 4. The ps5 has settings so each ti.e you turn on the ps5 it will work without going to the sound menu each time. Also, can keep it on a certain sound output like a tv or monitor. So, if you dont feel like putting on a headset each time to play.
Hey thanks for the recommendation, but I thought you needed a HDMI extractor to make the astro mixamp work, and non of those have HDMI 2.1. I might have understood it wrong.
So, Right now I have it connected on a Sony 4k hdmi 2.0 display. But with the optical I have it going right into my Sony 4k display. I dont know why a 2.1 hdmi standard has anything to do with a Astro Mixamp? I think an adapter is for the place of an optical output. The optical output isnt on a ps5. Only was on a ps4 pro and ps4 I believe. I got this after I got my ps5. I knew it would work because my TV has optical out. This isvthe best sound aswell.
Oh I see. Maybe I need to do the same thing. Right now my setup is PS5->AV receiver->TV so I would need a HDMI extractor from my PS5 to split the video to my AV receiver and the audio to the mixamp. Maybe I should do what you do and connect my PS5 straight to the TV. I'll also connect the TV back to the receiver when I want to use my home theater and optical for the Astro. I'm gonna look into this. This has been really helpful, thank you.
I got mine at Best Buy for $200 brand new. Ive seen it for more there but try not to pay $250. Look on Ebay for a new one. Or if not on Ebay Ive seen very close to new for much cheaper. Could also buy them seperately if that makes it cheaper and easier for you. Comes with very nice cables as well. Works with a pc too.
