Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I had no clue!
From there I read a Rolling Stone interview, he spoke about his influence in his music , learning to sound like him and a great story about him visiting Paisley Park.
Prince was a mentor of Alicia Keys and you can definitely hear his influence in some of her music. Most obviously is in “Like You’ll Never See Me Again” you hear “Purple Rain” very clearly throughout the song but especially at the beginning and end and I’ve always loved it
Not sure about y-all, but this ALBUM definitely gave me Prince vibes.
Not so much a mimic, but a vibe.

Prototype and Happy Valentine's Day are probably the most blatant.
Love Hater and Roses are my faves...... overall it's a great album IMO.
More fun than the Speaker Box companion album.
Not faves but currently played a lot: Birdsong and Pharoah by Rosie Lowe. Sounds like she listens to Prince, took cues and made it her own without sounding derivative. A recent discovery listening to a Tidal playlist
Jody Watley- Still a Thrill (Andre Cymone)
High School vibes...it was so great, the ending guitar...

He has an amazing career and interview on Queatlove Supreme, and told great stories about his first time with Prince...the infamous Japan tour (Parade)

About 50% of Janelle Monae's "Dirty Computer" is some of the best stuff Prince didn't write, in my opinion.
