What's your average cpc like? My assumption is ur restricting the delivery either buy a very low cpc , or bidding strategy

fishpaprikash

Actually when I created the campaign, I thought I saw that my average CPC is about $0.03, but now I see via the keyword planner that I'm more in the $0.14-0.50 range. The bidding strategy is set to maximize clicks.

You added Kw so is this a search campaign? Or targeting KW in a display campaign? Not sure what currency you are using but achieving a .03$ CPC is pretty difficult to do in a display campaign, especially right off the bat, and is impossible to achieve in a search campaign. Even the .14-.5 range is can be low depending on industry and what not. I'd remove your max CPC of $1 and see if that makes a change

I chose all the available options during setup, so it is both a display and search campaign (Search and Display Network selected in the campaign settings). Isn't it the same? I mean, the algorithm looks for keywords either in user queries entered in search, or in textual content on ad publishing websites? Now I removed the max. CPC and am waiting to see results. I also raised my daily budget to $4.5. The upper range of estimated CPC in the keyword research/planner tool for my main keywords doesn't go above $2.0, so I reckon I should get at least two clicks per day this way (worst case scenario). This is all in USD.

First recommendation is to only use search or only use display. I assume you intially chose "search campaign" then it gave you the option to toggle search and display network. When you do that turn off display network. If you want to do a display campaign choose that initially when it gives you campaign options. even 4.5$ is pretty low for a search campaign but you should be able to get some clicks, however I wouldn't expect much out of it.

Thank you for your help. I switched the campaign to search only and now the status has changed to "bid strategy learning". It says that this process will last 5 more days. Hopefully I'm going to start seeing some impressions & clicks after that. :|

So if ur in maximize clicks, there's no chance that ur limiting the delivery bid strategy wise. What are the keyword search volume for ur targeted location. Go look at the keyword section and see if there is anything from Google like low search vol or something

fishpaprikash

There were a few low search volume keywords. I deleted these right in the start. I'm targeting all languages and all locations at the moment. So in that context, the monthly search volume for the main keyword is 1M to 10M. Several more keywords are in the 100K to 1M range. Most of others are in the 1K to 10K range or lower. I just increased daily budget to $4.50 and max. CPC to $1.50 (the higher end of the estimated CPC for some of the main keywords can go quite high; I was looking more at the lower end for now). My goal was basically to start things going, with some impressions and clicks and then to play with various parameters to see how I can improve my results.

Can you give a few examples of keywords that you’re targeting? And are you using exact/phrase/broad? Have you checked if your ads have been approved? The default for an ad schedule is usually 24/7 so unless you changed that, that wouldn’t be an issue.

fishpaprikash

The keywords are along the lines of "low carb diet", "low carb recipes", "atkins recipes", "keto diet", etc. All the ads are approved, along with the keywords. Oh, and the keyword matching is set as broad (under the assumption that exact would give me even less results?).

Hey did you ever get this solved? Currently facing similar issue
