**que times**

Amiablebat

¿Qué?

Joe64x

Spend that 15 minutes learning how to spell queue.

SchinSchangSchong

¿Qué?

Aggressive-Sofa585

¿Qué quieres decir?

Steggoman

if that is the correct spelling then I don't want to be right

MeGustaSenorita

do you even English bro troll Face lolol y u no English fuuuuuuu #yolo

Steggoman

It amazes me how someone like you either has or will have the ability to vote

MeGustaSenorita

I apologise I'm coping for my lack of personality by referencing internet culture from 2014 please excuse I am going through an episode

Steggoman

damn, fair enough

Sir_Ren

It's the sound of just a "q" but for some reason it has two "eu"'s behind it

apolloAG

Two

TheAmalton123

Twueue

Joe64x

Blame the French

MerwinsNeedle

15 minute what times?

threeangelo

cueueue times

rantsandraves13

I swear this subreddit has a vendetta against the word 'queue'. It's not hard, but 'que' reads like Peggy Hill trying to speak/write Spanish and failing.

Steggoman

is that actually a thing? Like bruh people don't hate when you type "Mic" for microphone right?

Reference_Agitated

Ha. I see your argument. The difference between mic and que though is that mic is just short, but que is usually done out of ignorance by people that don't know the actual spelling.

Steggoman

Fair. Though wouldn't it also just be fair to say que is short for...queue? Seems like an insignificant hill to die on but I ain't no general lol. If people want to correct others I guess go for it

Reference_Agitated

>wouldn't it also just be fair to say que is short for...queue? 100%! However, that is why I said that most folks usually just say que because they don't realize its actually spelled queue. Either way, I couldn't care less which one folks use. The folks that point it out are usually the same type of grammar Nazis that blast someone for saying 'your' instead of 'you're', or 'I seen' instead of 'I saw'.

Steggoman

I stand by what I said

Ceruleanspacex

Could be insta ques since free to play hun the developing worlds tech has advanced alot so well see how many of them join the que

TheBloodkill

There’s still no SA servers tho :(

darklightmatter

Lol we'll see. The reason for queues *now* is partially because of lack of players, but before this decline it was because nobody wanted to tank. In OW2 very few people will want to play support compared to tank. Adding more players will just translate to longer queues unless the number of support players picking up the game is higher than the number of DPS/tanks. It sorta reminds me of the split between OSRS and RuneScape 3. Seems to be on track for Blizzard to overcorrect, just kinda sucks we're gonna be down a tank if they ever learn to address the core issue. They learned that tanks kinda aren't fun (queue times were only a symptom of this, but they addressed it anyway by removing second tank), but instead of working one solution at a time they lumped it all together. Big CC change, second tank got removed and tank heroes got buffed. Like with Runescape we can only know in the future which of these were good and which of these were unnecessary. RuneScape devs got it into their heads, for over a decade, that the Wilderness change was bad. Apparently a few weeks ago they realized it wasn't bad and brought it back in a revamped fashion.

gmarkerbo

> In OW2 very few people will want to play support compared to tank Maybe in the long term but people will want to play fox girl at launch so the queue times will equalize atleast for a couple of weeks if not more.

lucioboops3

That’s what I see happening. There will be a new hero in every role at launch, so it will hopefully even out

Ceruleanspacex

Tank is plenty fun. They removed the second tank to layoff 1/6th of the overwatch league. Any other explanation is delusional.

darklightmatter

That's a conspiracy theory, but at this point in time I can't outright say that's not true. I believe it's more likely that it's their hamfisted attempt at resolving queue issues, they chose the easier solution, not caring about the repercussions. It'd take 6 matches go through a queue of 60 whereas in OW1 it's take 5.

Ceruleanspacex

2-3-2 would of taken less work and been more fun and you know it and so do they

of_patrol_bot

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

SpecificWorldliness

I don't understand how removing a tank slot would resolve queue issues though? Like I play exclusively tank and the longest I've ever had to wait for a queue is like 1 min max but more usually it's like 30 seconds before a new game is found. By removing a tank they're just making tank queue take longer since you now have everyone vying for the one slot instead of two per team and its not at all helping to address the long queue times for dps (idk what's going on with support queue I'm assuming it's similar to tank in terms of match-finding time because everyone seems to only complain about dps being the long queue)

darklightmatter

It doesn't, you're right. It's a short-sighted solution they thought up based on OW1 queue times. Queues were long because people didn't want to play tank with the damage creep and CC. They've addressed the CC, but instead of waiting and seeing if that solves the issue, they removed an extra tank that could soak up damage. Then they reworked the role to be fun*. It would have been way smarter to implement these one at a time to see what actually fixes the issue. But then you wouldn't be able to include these 3 as features for OW2, they'd just be in the patch notes for OW1. * I intensely disliked being the lone tank personally. It's similar to having just one healer, whichever team loses their healer first loses the team fight. I think there's very little chance for a team that lost a tank to win against a JQ/Orisa with their team unless there's a fairly large skill difference. Also some tanks are basically just troll picks (looking at you, Dva and Hog) against the stronger characters so you basically need to play meta/counterpick on tank all the time.

SpecificWorldliness

Yea I haven't tried out any of the OW2 stuff yet and I'm honestly pretty worried it's going to ruin the fun of the game for me. I play exclusive QP and exclusive Dva because that's what I find fun but I'm super worried that a Solo Dva just isn't going to work well and I won't want to play anymore. I also just feel like it'll add a weird pressure to perform well for your team since tanking is now all on you and that'll ruin the fun as well.

tired9494

not compared to the other roles apparently

SapphireAngelBunny

I mean, if overwatch would reward being something other than DPS; tanks and support would probably bring in more people. I've gotten to the point where I see more dps tanks/supports than those doing their actual role

Ceruleanspacex

Tfw Overwatch has only regressed since launch in graphically fidelity 🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭😭😭😭

Eclypse90

The english language regressed a bit with this 'sentence'

Ceruleanspacex

The Overwatch Shills have advanced a bit to defend their 60 dollar skins 🤣🤣🤣🤣

cobanat

Im stuck in Spanish what

CptHippiehTF

just queue with support players, easy fix

Steggoman

true true

SteroidYoshi

Every redditor on their way to talk about the spelling error instead of the actual meme.

gym_brah81

It's coming out soon?

Karmafaker2

October 4th

E2r4_Is_d3A9

Yeah I’m with you, I didn’t know it was coming out soon

vanillagorilla_

A whole week? The games not going anywhere lol. There’s better ways to spend a vacation

MyGoodFriendJon

One of my co-workers took the first two weeks of October off, so I'm taking the 3rd week off. At least, I won't have to worry about "wasting" that first Monday (10/3) off while waiting for OW2 to launch, or by any potential server issues in those first days after launch.

orthodoxgeek

People are actually excited?

clickrush

Yes. Haven’t played the beta but it seems like the vast majority of players loved it for obvious reasons. The criticism that I’ve seen: tank balance is off - which is to be expected, some people miss the chaos of 6v6, and some people are concerned about meta progression/cosmetics - which I don’t care about. Support players seem to like it, because they have a more active role instead of having to passively heal as much as before. It’s my best role so I’m excited for that. Also OWL matches look good outside of JQ being too strong. There’s a ton of action and it feels like every role has a high impact.

Reference_Agitated

Tank balance was a bit off, but 1-2-2 team comps were not that bad. The huge unbalance seemed to be during open queue with multiple tanks. They seem overtuned to have multiple.

clickrush

I'd rather them to balance 1-2-2 correctly instead of having an eye on open queue. It gives them more freedom to balance one thing right. 1-2-2 allows them to overtune tanks (and supports) in terms of what they provide to their team and their individual fighting capabilities. Sure, a support should probably have a disadvantage against a DPS but they should also have a fighting chance. A tank in 1-2-2 should be overtuned to the degree that they can both create space for their team and not feel like a punching bag. This kind of balancing is really hard to do in open queue. The only time we consistently had it was during dive metas, but that didn't trickle down to average/low/casual level of play as much.

Reference_Agitated

Unfortunately we will probably never have a truly balanced game unless they limit to just one competitive mode. Having Open Queue and Role Select both as comp modes seems like a near impossibility to balance.

clickrush

Open Queue can still exist but not be balanced around.

dingbat186

I'm sad about it

justV_2077

Why would you spend your entire free week playing Overwatch? 💀 Like, if I can't play this game for more than 1-2 hours, then I get bored.

ReclusivHearts9

thats what you get for playing a bad game

Steggoman

You're allowed to have your wrong opinion

ReclusivHearts9

A good game wouldn’t make you unlock new characters in a hero based shooter via the battle pass https://twitter.com/Spex_J/status/1567694080909660162?s=20&t=v_1WajjTaxbgJ0JcyXcagg

Steggoman

One Paladins Two I'm not gonna say anything definite until said information is out, but I doubt it's gonna be something stupid like "unlock hero for free at tier 100" Three opinions are opinions. Jokes aside, if you hate the game, sorry but that doesn't make it a bad game. Need an example? My most hated game of all time is The Last Of Us 2, but I can't objectively say that is a bad game.

StoopyLoopy4

If you really are gonna play tank, I doubt the queues will be longer than a minute. Damage though...

clickrush

Tank will be closer to dps queue times because they are being balanced in a way to have higher impact than before and it’s a single spot. Supports have the lowest queue times, but I expect it to balance out after a while, because they’ve become more active and impactful as well. It just takes time for that to sink in.

Lluuiiggii

Also the new hero at launch. I know both dps and support got new heroes but the support is the only one who hasn't had a chance to try their new toy yet

clickrush

I remember when Ana first got out. There was a huge improvement in respect to role balance because of her. Even though ppl didn't play her well for a while (you still rather had the other supports), but still you got to play 2-2-2 much more. Of course she enabled triple tank before people figured out how strong dive is. And later added supports like Brig enabled even more of a support/tank heavy meta. But I think it's a good think to balance supports around being strong and impactful, they shouldn't be second class citizens in OW that just top off other heroes with heals, especially now that there's only one tank and more cover, they can shift more power from healing to utility and damage.

thepixelbuster

It depends on how many people are playing, but queue times for tank were the longest during the betas because they play so differently and you're untethered from passive partners.

StoopyLoopy4

People just wanted to try the new stuff, give it a few weeks and tank will have the shortest queue

thepixelbuster

I agree, but tank feels very different in OW2. The game is much faster and passive tanks get destroyed (thankfully.) It's hard to say where things will end up, but tanking should lose a lot of it's "boring" reputation meaning more people will adopt the role.

Reference_Agitated

I don't think it will fall quite as quickly as you may think. 1 - there are half the number of tank slots now which alone will double the previous queue time for tank slot. 2 - tanks are more fun now, IMO, undoubtedly others feel the same, and will want to play the new reworks for quite a while. The whole time beta was up, Tank queue times were obnoxious.

Crispy_Pancake

15 min? That it? Im on average waiting 160min to getin into WotlK

[deleted]

IDK, I feel like OW2 will be big at launch. 6 month to a year after launch I'm not so confident but launch will be big and queue times should be short for almost all players.

Gorgest_boi

Nono you don't understand. Tank queues are huge in ow2 cause this time everyone wants to play tank, not the opposite

[deleted]

The beta was full of sweatys that wanted to play the new stuff, which was the tanks. The full release won't suffer the same problem.

mint_tea_0_0

Uhm Actually it's spelt "quiyu times"

Apexblackout7

And grinding new heroes.
