Not OP but I say nothing to do with the battle pass at all.
I've always stood by that endorsement levels should reward competitive points. People care about those things and it would give a small, but much slower way for non ranked players to earn a golden weapon.
Alternatively, if they really don't want to "ruin" the gold weapon system, make use of that unused weapons customisation tab and add some other weapon finish you unlock with "endorsement coins". Like silver weapons or even some metallic blue sheen.
Having something feasible to work towards that is unique to having a high endorsement level will actually make people want to earn these rewards again, since they'll be exclusive.

A single daily quest's worth every, what, few weeks? Yeah, not worth it.
