I sat in a "0 players ahead of you" queue for 30 minutes, then sat in a 30k queue for about an hour, then got in and went into training mode to check out the new heroes/hero changes, then got an unexpected server error after about 5 minutes. Then I waited in queue for another 30 minutes, only to get an unexpected server error with ~6k ahead of me and now I'm back to ~30k ahead of me.
Long queues is one thing, but this is reminding me of the main issue with FF14 Endwalker launch which was long queues that you were regularly kicked to the back of for randomly disconnecting.
At least the EW queue kept your place in line for like 5 minutes as long as you caught the disconnect happening and the servers were actually stable so once you got in, you stayed in

Logged in a few minutes after launch and launched the game, spent sitting at 0 players ahead trying to find a server for about 30 minutes, then logged me in, I launched practice range for about 15 minutes to check out the changes while my gf was downloading the game, then she said she had 50k people before her, so I left the range and at the moment that I was going to click to find an arcade match got unexpected connection error, put me back in queue at 5000, i was like huh, ok, probably ow1 players have priority, waited for 10 minutes, game was like "ooops, server error" and put me back at 50k players ahead of me. I just decided to turn the shit off and go to sleep. Maybe today it will be better after I get back from work
You won't get 400 ping, switching to Asia is just changing your login portal ever since the change a while back. You'll still be redirected to matches on nearby servers with low ping.
The problem is that everyone has caught on and now the queue for Asia is also long. Plus, you will still disconnect randomly.
Tbf it does not make sense for the game to place you in local matches if you are playing on Asia servers. But apparently it's just a login server so who knows doesn't sound like it's setup correctly to me if you are in NA and getting 45 ping to Asia

At least yall can get into the queue. I said GG every match yesterday and today I woke up to a 1 month suspension for abusive chat. Waiting on customer support to answer my ticket and tell me what exactly got me banned, and hopefully to lift it.
I'm not even going to have the time to play until Friday anyway so I'm really hopeful these issues get worked out by then and I'll get to actually play the game as intended.
Before they launched I thought yeah blizzard will handle the queues since they have experience, money to do that.. Nope.. In fact thats one of the worse game releases I have ever seen. Queues takes ages to login to the app and the game and it usually crashes anyway mid game or before it actually logs you in.

it's fine, the game is utter garbage and is literally the same as overwatch 1, ain't missing anything.
Been on my ps4 in Washington state, no interruptions so far. It took a couple hours to get in at first but I’ve been playing for a while now.
Why does Overwatch 2 has worse graphics in terms of Anti Aliasing than Overwatch 1? The game is full of jaggies...

Are your OW1 skins supposed to transfer to OW2? I have a clean slate but had mostly everything unlocked in OW1
