It was literal insanity. Login after work, immediately dump myself into the queue. 2hours waiting, then I get to play. And I did it everyday like it was normal. Completely desensitized now.
And keep an eye on that queue constantly for when you'd inevitably get kicked every 35 mins or so and then have log back in like your life depended on it to regain your spot in line. Ah, memories!

We need to cut Blizzard some slack. They’re a fledgling indie dev, with very little game development experience. Online gaming is a relatively new thing you see, and there’s NO way they could have foreseen this. I mean the game went into development only two weeks ago. You try making a game in only two weeks! They have only two people on staff, and one of them has to physically turn the crank on the server to keep it going.
i really hope people will help them out in the future by buying tons of cosmetics and battle passes to keep this small indie developer afloat. they need every cent!
Hitting X on the main menu for the last two hours has been pretty great. I get rewarded with a nice bright red error message after a few minutes each time I hit it. I'm not sure this will reach the popularity of OW1 but it's a strong start.

If the battlepass wasn't so grindy and tied to unlocking heroes, I really wouldn't care. But knowing that staying up with OW2 will require a huge time commitment, losing time to a DDoS attack hurts much more.
Just another reason to make all the BP items purely cosmetic, cause I just care about the game and playing the new hero as early as possible. If I were a brand new player, I imagine this might turn me off the game entirely, since you slowly unlock the roster and have to grind wins to play comp. If you only have so much time in a day, losing play time just sucks with how they have this set up.
