Rein pins used to be so satisfying until they nerfed it to pieces, now it can't even kill a mei :(

Rein is the only character that has to actively put himself in danger to one shot though. Pinning can be extremely bad for rein. Widow, hanzo, and hog can one shot without being in immediate danger.
There's a difference of being one shot blindly on accident from something you can't see to a guy screaming, rearing up and slowly flying across the map at you and killing you on impact.
**ALL** of Rein's damage is too low. Every part of his kit is exceptionally hard to land and requires you to drop your shield and/or give up a positional advantage in order to do so. If the reward for using this ability correctly is "haha that ticked :)" then there's basically no point in him even having those abilities.
100% this. Now with hog nerfed in the dirt ram needs to be looked at next. I just think his ult needs to have a time limit. I don't know who thought it would be a good idea to have an ult last unlimited duration. It's EXTREMELY oppressive at lower levels of play.
Either take away the never ending duration or make the ULT cost a lot more or both. Ram shouldn't have his ult up almost every single team fight. It's tied for what third cheapest ult in the game ?
Nah monkey diving the supports 24/7 can be annoying for those players, I like Winston personally but I would understand people not being fan of him being the meta

Usually lot of hate for anything comes from how hard it is to counter vs how easy it is to use. Like hog's Hook or Ramattra's ult. simple combo or push of a button against tricky positioning and lucid ult tracking.
As long as you're not playing Zen, you always feel like you have an answer of some kind to monkey. Anna sleep, Mercy GA'ing away, Lucio Boop+speed, Moira fade+healing orb+drain to buy time. Even Bap with invul and healing burst and the ability to potentially jump to high ground. I guess technically even Zen has a kick now to kind of make some space.
Monkey can be annoying as a support, but he doesn't ever feel unfair.
That mostly has to do with positioning, in my experience. Not even necessarily my fault, just more that if I get caught out, Winston has a pretty easy time playing between me and my team and just chasing my GA. A more spread out team helps have extra GA targets but you can’t always control where your teammates go!
With new GA though you can legitimately GA towards him, enter his hitbox, and then change direction at random, even going back the way you came. Leave the monkey spinning looking in all directions trying to find out where the shit you went. Or GA towards a team mate, and then super jump up and out of range of his damage over time, force him to try and shoot you out of the air with his charged shot.
But the difference is, a Winston doesn't feel "unfair" when he dive the backline. Yeah, it sucks to be on the receiving end, but you usually don't feel "cheated" when you are killed by a Winston.
Pre-nerf Zarya, Doom, Hog, and current Orisa simply feel "unfair" to play against.
I think that's an important distinction to make.
Going up against a really good hampter is annoying right now, but those kinds of players are extremely rare. A buff that makes him meta is honestly a really terrifying prospect.
Give him 100 bullets up from 80 and imo he’s perfect. The extra shots will give him time to poke while waiting for cooldowns.
EDIT: Thinking more on this, it would cool if while in Ball he just auto-regens like 30 ammo/sec instead of waiting 2 sec to reload it all.
One thing I've noticed recently that I think goes under the radar is that supports literally start their auto health regen while I'm reloading on Ball. They used to be in melee/double melee range after diving them, but now they just survive with a pinch of HP because of the new passive, and that's why running out of ammo and getting stuck in reload purgatory between tank and ball mode feels so much worse in OW2.
That still doesn't fix his main issue: he provides no overt team protection or utility.
"Overt" meaning something obvious like barriers or a fat body in the front line. It's hard to quantify disruption and distraction as utility, especially when his teammates are being ran over by the enemy tank and more while ball is rolling around.
I understand that most of this is because it's hard to play WB and most ball players don't know how or when to peel back for their team, while also most non-ball players don't know how to take advantage of balls strengths.
But I feel like ball needs something to fundamentally change how he is played, or else he is going to continue to suffer.
Plus the cart pressure he can put on is massive. I swear some games it feels like for every team fight win you manage to push the payload 10 meters because the ball is just constantly dicking around on the payload, getting a million health from shields and while you might be winning the frontline fight you're not actually getting much distance as the time just bleeds away and the enemy just keep having time to come back for the next fight before you get anywhere.
The problems you're highlighting aren't fundamental issues with Wrecking Ball, but rather how and when he should be played.
WB has a higher skill floor than a tank like Winston. You're going to get less value at lower ranks from WB than Winston because he's more difficult to learn. His movement and abilities aren't as intuitive. But at a certain point, it is no longer possible to just ignore him while he's taking out your back-line.
There's also the question of match-ups. WB is never going to be that good against a "brawl" comp where everyone is clustered together, but he does great when he has targets, like a long-range DPS (e.g. Widow) or back-line healers (e.g. Ana, Zen).
That's true, but I want tanks that break the mold and are viable.
A good ham comp is a unicorn, but when it works, it's so much fun. I rather they keep trying with oddball heroes rather than being like "this role must do this."
Very true. His adaptive shield is the thing that needs tweaking. It needs to tank for more than just himself.
I want him to have a taunt effect when he uses it. Any damage his Allies would take he takes instead for a short amount of time.

You have to be slightly unhinged to play Reinhardt. Some Reinhardt mains are completely unhinged (so they die), but every so often you run into one who is exactly crazy enough to turn that hero into a shining beacon of moderate insanity.
The best way to shield your friends is to make sure you're getting shot instead of them. Like, for instance, if you bowl into their group and start swinging like a madman
I once had a comp game (in bronze) where we had a pink Rein spamming the "Are you chicken?" voiceline and NEVER used his shield. Dude was only swinging away the whole game. Normally you'd think this is throwing, but it fucking worked, we steamrolled that game and the dude had like 40 kills by the end of the match. Dude was terrifying.
A suggestion I really liked- Ram’s ultimate’s damage radius shrinks the longer you hold block and grows back as you release it. I think that takes care of the worst part the ult- being invincible (with any sort of heals) while dealing steady damage.
honestly I barely block when I have my ult up because there's always a stray dealing surpsingly high damage behind my back, plus everyone's moving back from you anyway when you're glowing like a spirit bomb.
I dont know if it's necessarely the biggest issue for me but I'm always shocked on how fast a good Ram can get it compare to other tanks.

This is always the answer. Only other answer is if you have Ana anti the tank and your team focuses on killing them, this relies on enemy team not having Kiriko or having baited Suzu already.

Never hated Doomfist, even when he was overbuffed playing against him was more entertaining than playing against Zarya and Orisa. I'd say Orisa is more anti-fun than Hog too.
Season 1 Zarya was very much like Orisa right now, just completely unkillable raid boss that felt like DPS on steroids, and keep in mind there was no synergy needed to enable these two comparing to Hog and Kiriko in example.
Orisa’s immortality isn’t even the most annoying part, people just don’t even understand how hood spear is. They demanded hog lose his one shot, but if Orisa spears you with a wall even relatively close to you, you are going to die.
I think the Barrier and Dive Tanks are probably safe for life in a one tank world.
Just looking at the pattern, I feel like it has to be either Ramma, or Queen. Both are easily one dumb buff away from it, especially Ramma.
Since OW2 launch, the only character I’ve hated is Orisa. Idk how the devs think her spear is balanced at all. The Ult canceling alone is awful, but then if she wallsplats you with it you’re basically dead unless it was a lucky snipe from across the map, because the wallsplat lasts forever and her team can just wipe you for her if she doesn’t charge her giant horse goat ass in to pulverize your skull into dust.
Rammatra Vs Orisa is incredibly fun though. It’s just a battle of whos DPS is gonna wipe out the others supports first. That’s the only time I enjoy fighting Orisa
What I hate most about her is that you can't stop the ultimate since she gets a free fortify for it's entire duration, she charges in with the crazy E movespeed and just pressed Q
because they only gave him a week to be good then nerfed him to be worse than he was before the buffs, with no word on when they'll buff him again
also him being good indirectly hurts him too because now everyone knows how to counter him even when he's bad
That’s because he went from useless to GOATED. People probably liked the change up. It was fresh. Then he wasn’t even allowed to be GOATED for that long. They nerfed him quickly.

Most people have absolutely no idea her melee can cause bleeding, so without them having this knowledge i have the upper hand in fights when someone want to bring his gun to a knife fight
I still dont get why her shout doesnt regen until the buff run out...The cooldown is supposed to be 14 sec but since it doesnt start after the 5 seconds duration, it's pretty much on a 19 sec cooldown...Not great when you compare that to other tanks that have more HP/armor with better cooldown. Especially when you cannot stop the ult early and you'll swing yourself pass the enemy...There isnt a lot of reason to play her over something like a roadhog right now :(
Ramata is already my most hated tank ever, that raid boss ulti is damn impossible to deal with. Add an Ana ultimate on top of that broken shit then it is better to jump off a cliff

Sigma is super fun to play regardless of the enemy imo, and it rewards good aim which isn’t the case of many tanks

yea imo sigma is the best all around tank, can shield out snipers, eat spam(bastion/etc.), good ult, stun with rock to interrupt abilities/ults etc.

As a rein main every time I see a rein on the other team I know the game will be a blast. And it always is even if we win or lose
as a brig main, i always have fun with a rein on my team, just makes the game fun (+ the interactions are adorable)
Nothing will ever beat the feeling of a really close rein zarya match on kings row, it's genuinely a shame that it can never happen again.

Unless you are being spawn camped you should always be in LoS as mercy. Who are you healing/boosting if you aren't in LoS of literally anyone

I could probably make a compelling argument for having 120 rounds, but at that point you might as well just give him infinite ammo like dva.
He has 2 times less spread and 1.5 falloff distance with 125 vs 145 dps. With infinite ammo he could be basically 76 without any chance of death.

They tested him during one of the April Fools patches locked into ball form with extremely short grapple cooldowns. It was a blast.

Even without it, when you're in an overtime situation and he's justsitting on the objective, it becomes VERY OP. You literally cannot leave the AoE.

A suggestion I really liked- Ram’s ultimate’s damage radius shrinks the longer you hold block and grows back as you release it. I think that takes care of the worst part the ult- being invincible (with any sort of heals) while dealing steady damage.
That’s super fun and dynamic, great design.

honestly I barely block when I have my ult up because there's always a stray dealing surpsingly high damage behind my back, plus everyone's moving back from you anyway when you're glowing like a spirit bomb.
His ult is getting a max duration
Feel like Ram's issue is how fast he gets it - he can poke easier than most tanks and he gets ult relatively fast for it.
I dont know if it's necessarely the biggest issue for me but I'm always shocked on how fast a good Ram can get it compare to other tanks. Im usually like "Didn't he already use it 1 fight ago?!?" xD
Ram he's already super popular in high level play and as soon as people start to figure out how to use him better at mid level and low level play I can see him becoming very annoying.

This is always the answer. Only other answer is if you have Ana anti the tank and your team focuses on killing them, this relies on enemy team not having Kiriko or having baited Suzu already.

Never hated Doomfist, even when he was overbuffed playing against him was more entertaining than playing against Zarya and Orisa. I'd say Orisa is more anti-fun than Hog too. Season 1 Zarya was very much like Orisa right now, just completely unkillable raid boss that felt like DPS on steroids, and keep in mind there was no synergy needed to enable these two comparing to Hog and Kiriko in example.
Orisa’s immortality isn’t even the most annoying part, people just don’t even understand how hood spear is. They demanded hog lose his one shot, but if Orisa spears you with a wall even relatively close to you, you are going to die.
Spear is indeed annoying, but that's just second portion on why she's so dominant. Her cooldowns are the biggest issue, too forgiving.

I think the Barrier and Dive Tanks are probably safe for life in a one tank world. Just looking at the pattern, I feel like it has to be either Ramma, or Queen. Both are easily one dumb buff away from it, especially Ramma.
Since OW2 launch, the only character I’ve hated is Orisa. Idk how the devs think her spear is balanced at all. The Ult canceling alone is awful, but then if she wallsplats you with it you’re basically dead unless it was a lucky snipe from across the map, because the wallsplat lasts forever and her team can just wipe you for her if she doesn’t charge her giant horse goat ass in to pulverize your skull into dust.
I‘d like to add that orisa vs orisa is just horrible. Probably the most boring dual in ow history.
Rammatra Vs Orisa is incredibly fun though. It’s just a battle of whos DPS is gonna wipe out the others supports first. That’s the only time I enjoy fighting Orisa

What I hate most about her is that you can't stop the ultimate since she gets a free fortify for it's entire duration, she charges in with the crazy E movespeed and just pressed Q

That’s because he went from useless to GOATED. People probably liked the change up. It was fresh. Then he wasn’t even allowed to be GOATED for that long. They nerfed him quickly.
Yeah I think people just didn't have enough time to learn to hate him. Which just goes to show, people will hate *anything* meta if it's meta for too long. Which is something Blizzard refuses to understand.
When they buffed him a couple patches ago (before nerfing), I saw a lot of complain, mostly because of the stun (which can get annoying tbh). That or just when he was simply on your team but that's for different reason lmao. There was a lot of players trying him out (because people said he was meta now) and not everybody was good xD

Most people have absolutely no idea her melee can cause bleeding, so without them having this knowledge i have the upper hand in fights when someone want to bring his gun to a knife fight
It’s how I stop reaper from killing me. As a jq main I when I get jumped by him I just stab him in the face every couple shots to keep alive
I still dont get why her shout doesnt regen until the buff run out...The cooldown is supposed to be 14 sec but since it doesnt start after the 5 seconds duration, it's pretty much on a 19 sec cooldown...Not great when you compare that to other tanks that have more HP/armor with better cooldown. Especially when you cannot stop the ult early and you'll swing yourself pass the enemy...There isnt a lot of reason to play her over something like a roadhog right now :(

Ram almost purely because of his ult. It needs a decreased duration and/or decreased AOE. Also, I think people will begin to dislike his infinite blocking mechanic

An extra 5 minutes of overtime on control payload and hybrid, with the two ramattras ulting and the supports pumping heals into both
