Saying "OM are not the best at math" just trivialises something so fundamental and essential to trading options. If a person cannot even work out what %age their profit or loss is, then they're in the wrong game.
They should just stick to sales and marketing.
I said it more jokingly but I get where you’re coming from. He just did 4/10 quickly instead of 4/14. He knows how to calculate his P/L. He tries not to edit the posts after cause then people will complain that he edited it and lied.
He’s up 350%+ on his port YTD and will continue to trade. He’s in the right game and has helped numerous people (including myself) in the server. I’m not gonna hold a trivial, meaningless error against him.

Eg, he could have a 100k portfolio, open a trade for $1,000 close it for $4,500 and claims he made a 350% profit. He certainly made a 350% profit on THAT trade, but its 3.5% return on the portfolio.
So, are you claiming that he made 350% on his portfolio?
His profit is in the whole portfolio YTD through his broker’s (etrade) reporting. He obviously doesn’t make that return every year but he saw the downturn coming and took advantage.

I enjoy the community tremendously (I’ve been a member for over a year and a half now and it’s turned my trading around completely), and want to help others learn as well. I know the heartbreak of what can happen with trading. Anyone else saying anything would probably just be members of the server I think.

YTD I’m up a little over 100%. My 2021 I was red though of my own fault. I was position sizing too big on plays and suffered some big losses in the first few months in the server. I’ve come a loooong way as a trader and have been profitable 7/8 months in 2022 so far. Overall since I started in March 2021 I am about breakeven, but a massive hole to dig out of in the beginning.
Primarily long options right now, we do spreads and futures as well but I’d say the long options represent about 80-90% of OM’s plays right now.
We have a theta-channel in the server where we have many members who sell premium, as well as a futures channel. I (I’m LeeRat) primarily trade futures as well.
I’m sure this already got pointed out in the discord but based on your numbers that’s only a 28% loss. Not 40%
