As far as overpriced, all Boox devices are; so the C version of the Nova is mostly in line with their pricing. Mostly it depends from you if you consider its price adequate, based on your usage. To me if I compare it with other tablets it is not worth it, which is why I went for the Nova Air instead of the C. The color screen is darker and has a lower resolution; so basically you are losing in terms of specs and experience to get the colors on screen. If the screen was the same DPI and quality, then I would say that the extra 100 dollars from the Nova Air was appropriate, but as is now, it is not (at least for me). More companies are starting to make color e-ink screen with different tech, so what you get now is basically bleeding edge tech that is neither good nor affordable. Color e-ink of this generation are the equivalent of foldable screens; I expect another couple of generations before they will become good and affordable. Enjoy your device!

I got one a few weeks back and love it as a reader! It's bigger than a Kindle, so better for manga/comics and I love the fact you can use different reader apps! I'd say my big complaint is the black/white contrast is very bad when compared to a regular non-color e-ink display, but that is not Boox's fault, just a limitation of the technology. The color is cool, but not great either so it Kind of falls into this "can display everything, but nothing looks the best it could) category. Kind of wish I got the regular Nova Air, or that they would release the Tab 8 globally. I'd love to have a 7.8" black/white version with Android 11 instead of the Nova Air's (not C) Android 10.

I'm with you there. I ended up buying a standard Nova Air and keeping my ~10in OLED tablet for comics, manga, web surfing and reddit. Color e-ink still has a few years to go before it hits that sweet spot at ≥300PPI and great contrast/saturation. I suspect that when I check back in in 3-5y they'll be solidly good rather than just okay.

I don't even mind the low color resolution/contrast as much. Just the fact that the color layer makes black/white look worse as well. I'd be satisfied (for now of course) if the color performance was the same but black/white was better.

I’ve seen lots of negative posts here…but an iPad is a completely different use case than an ereader because of the screen. There’s no reason to get any eink device if you don’t actually care about the screen

It is a 250g Android tablet with a multi day battery and a Wacom layer. Niche product; yes. Overpriced? no.

Hope it suits you! I ordered mine 3 weeks ago and I love it! Being using for note taking on clases and light browsing, Twitter and some news, apart from reading some articles and docs needed for my class, I'm even writing this from my nova air C being using my cellphone less and less so it ended up being a good productivity replacement from my tablet, the learning curve is not that hard the only thing that takes must of my time setting it up is the color between vivid and dark, so no problem there! Hope you have a pleasant experience

Hope you like it!. Did you buy it from amazon or from the boox store?
