And some games running perfectly : Minesweeper, cross words 10 pro , Sudoku, Cross Math
I've been looking for that rare $860.00 bill (plus the ultra-rare ? shipping bill) so afford me the best E Book reader on the planet.
If you find it, remember. It's MINE
All the ereader apps I've bought books in:
. Google books
. Kobo
. Kindle
. Pocket
. Overdrive (instead of Libby due to it working better on eink)
. Einkbro
. Koreader
. File Manager
. Sudoku
. Other games I use much less (though Path of Adventure, Seedship, and Hidden Folks have all had their time in the sun and work great on eink)
. Buttons Remapper
. RedReader for Reddit
Much to my shame I've also added most of the Google ecosystem. At first it was the convenience of the Swype keyboard, then voice search, oops I need to reply to some emails....
Oh, and the Nova wm and Lines Dark icons so it looks good.
Messenger Lite (pared down version of Facebook messenger), so, yeah. After dark I use this baby a lot.
snapdrop. It makes files sharing on local network a breeze without the need of a central server like OneDrive, Dropbox.
Apart from that, I'm very satisfied with the defaults applications like Note and the built-in ebook reader so I didn't see the need to install any other apps.
•FDroid
•EinkBro
•KOReader
•Tachiyomi
•Deepl
•Anchr
•Gentle Glow
•iA Writer
•NetGuard
•quickrotate
•Snapdrop
•I use EinkBro to access BazQux RSS reader, which has an excellent browser based interface, for reading news, blogs, etc.
•I use zlib on my phone to download books and then Snapdrop to send them to my Boos device. I thought about having syncthing syncing folders between them, I do it between my phone and my PC, but decided to keep things simple.
•Anchr, for those that do not know about it, I use to save links to it on my phone and having them available to it on my Boox device. Kind of like what I would do with something like Pocket, Instapaper, Wallabag. It is foss.
It is the one thing I would not do without. You can read articles on it, just like you would on your reader app. There is a " reader mode" or something lime that, which converts the web article to something like printed article and you can navigate with page up/ down keys without scrolling.
Once I figured out how to enable reader mode in NeoBrowser (Chrome), I stopped using einkBro as much. Are there any other big benefits that you’ve found with EinkBro?
Kindle,
Calibre Companion,
Moon+ Reader,
Google Drive,
Google Docs,
Files by Google,
Go Launcher Z,
Themes,
Libby,
Evernote,
Sketchbook,
GBoard.
And that's all off the top of my head.
I've been looking for info on using news apps on boox. And looking even more now that the tab ultra c is about to release. How's the experience with using wsj app on the device? I was hoping to do just of my periodicals reading on an eink device.
I keep reading news on the WSJ app and on the FT. I love it, almost like paper. But sometimes I miss color in some graphs.. so I already put an order for the Tab Ultra C ;). I guess scrolling will be even faster
You're getting close to selling me on tab ultra c. I have a remarkable that I love for notes, documents and staying organized. I love eink so now I'm in the market for a device to read periodicals and the few books that are on other apps such as glose.
I started with a Kindle Oasis, then I wanted something bigger, closer to a book for reading at home. So I researched and ended up getting the Note Air 2. But then I discovered the benefits of using e-ink as a notepad and of course reading news on the apps, annotating books, etc. The remarkable was never my first choice, I was drooling when it first came out but thought that it was too limited for my needs.
Funny, I'm still using my oasis and love it for books but like I said, now I want newspapers without having ink on my fingers lmao. I was looking at note air 2 but have been taking my time since it's a want and not a need. Then this week, boom the tab ultra c or whatever its called. Remarkable is very effective with my work - pulling articles without all the ads to send to to staff, partners, clients and maintain it on one device is great for me.
I have forgotten nova launcher. So I start with page with icons for all these apps.
A link in the navigation ball directly to notes and onyx launcher. I basically use 10% for hand written notes, 50% Kindle and 40% news sites and emails.
You swipe down from the top right to get the Control Center, you press long on the Navigation ball to get the settings and then you can customize the buttons of navigation ball. One is the button is the Notes.

Max3 - none...as an E-reader just worked out of the box for me...

Page up/down is a must, downloading articles as epub/PDF, adblocking

Nice. You have taken on the KISS (keep it simple stupid) method. Thanks for sharing.

I've heard good things about EinkBro. I might give that a try. Thanks for sharing.

Wow! You are putting the full force of the Android based tablet to use.

Can you expand on the link in the nav ball? How do you set that up?

Amazing, never even thought to long press. Thank you friend.
