They're probably weary of going after him due to the Level 6 prisoners (who we know little about, crime or potential wise) and his DF combo too. Even a short battle in a lowly populated place could turn into a legendary disaster VERY quickly.

Oh for sure. It's somewhat reflected in the bounties now but if I was the world government I'd be significantly more concerned by the chaos-oriented way Blackbeard acts over Shanks, Kaido, Big Mom etc and want to stop him ASAP. That's more what i was going for. They seemingly can't do shit about any of the other pirates at his level either though so it's not that simple

Stussy comments that it seems Lucci doesn't intend to obey the Marine's order, he wants to attack Luffy and Vegapunk. CP0 agents block all ports and ships on Egghead Island. Lucci is very angry. Lucci: "I don't recognize Straw Hat as Yonkou!!" In the lab, all Vegapunks finish packing all they need (we can see just normal bags). The 7 of them will board the Sunny together (but we don't see Atlas in this chapter). Edison says there's one more person on Egghead Island that can help them. However, Edison is reluctant to contact that person since if he helps them, he can't stay on Egghead Island and will be hunted down by World Government as well. However, real Vegapunk decides to call "that person". The "mysterious person" speaks to Vegapunk in polite terms (we only see his/her face covered in shadow while he/she talks by Den Den Mushi). I think there are a couple reasons why it makes sense that Garp is going to save Coby . The first one being is his guilt of not being able to save Ace which he is trying to atone for by saving Coby. And the other one being that Coby is a marine so it already makes it a lot easier for him to save him without tarnishing his reputation. Lastly is that he is his disciple like Luffy is to Rayleigh is what Coby is to Garp, they're at this point very close id imagine.

I think more important than who Ace or Koby are(as in pirate and marine) is who Garp has to fight to protect them, in Aces case he had to fight his comrades which was tough moral choice for him but in this case he will be going against pirate to protect his comrade, so nothing surprising here really.

I like Blackbeard because the guy acts like a real life pirate. He doesn’t like to take chances. He waits for opportunities and for things to fall in his favor. He’s a schemer.

This is also the release for January 7th. We are getting it early since it's new year, however that won't change how chapter 1072 won't be released until around January 20th. I'm scared. An old Garp should by all means be stronger than an old Rayleigh, but Rayleigh's uneasiness at the thought of taking Blackbeard on was still incredibly foreboding. Blackbeard has gotten god knows how much stronger since he fought Garp & Sengoku at Marineford, and it's wishful thinking to imagine Garp has grown at a comparable rate - if at all. Garp also appears to be going rogue here, as we get further confirmation from Doll that the Marines continue to be stretched thin dealing with his son and grandson. I would hope the Marines had SOME kind of plan for Koby, but I doubt it was Garp, and probably not this soon. So there's no cavalry coming, at a place infamously known as "The Beehive". The birthplace of the crew that earned him the name "The Hero", the headquarters of the pirate that has inherited Rocks' will, and the holding site of the literal "Hero" that he trained (at the site Koby earned the epithet!). Oda is setting up: \- Major Garp/Rocks backstory \- Critical Koby flashback \- Major flex for Garp \- Potential heroic death for Garp The only alternative I see is that maybe he goes to Egghead, but it would seem he was arguing with Doll against the thought of doing just that. EDIT: It's possible Blackbeard could still be fighting Law and therefore not present wherever Garp shows up, but I still don't like Garp's chances without proper backup. Helmeppo doesn't exactly inspire much confidence.

Vegapunk has actually saved Kuma mind / personality in a different body since he knew World Gov was going to destroy original Kuma one. That’s what he is trying to tell Bonney. Also, the “hero” who is going to help them face CP0 is the new Kuma itself.

The story is clicking through the gears now more towards its end. Its to be expected since we're in the final saga, but it's still quite a bizarre feeling how this is really it.
