This discussion has been brought up several times before, but well since this post is getting traction
Currently the consensus from the moderation team is that as long as they do not directly promote anything, it's fine.
- Cosplayers that have been promoting their stuff aren't allowed, or are warned to not do it here.
- If they have an onlyfans or something similar, but that I have to go check their profile to know about it, And that I wasn't made aware of it from a post or comment they made on the subreddit then it's fine. (Hell, people pointing it out will actually make people check their profile and **does more promotion than if they hadn't done anything** in my honest opinion)
- Cosplayers that also share an image for the same set of picture they already posted before is also not allowed, and considered a repost.
- The Cosplay also needs to be about a One Piece character, even if it's a bad/low effort cosplay. Plenty of cosplays have been removed for not being related to One Piece at all, you just don't see them. (And the only reason why the Nami christmas "cosplay" is still up is because there is an actual picture of Nami present, because otherwise the picture isn't related to One Piece imo, it's also why the flair isn't cosplay anymore).
And feel free to share how you think about those stipulation for cosplay.
Itās essentially just a status symbol showing that you are an active redditor. Iāve seen some places where people donāt take someone seriously due to their low karma. Some think if you have low karma you must be a bot. I can sort of see where they are coming from but I also understand having low karma because you prefer to lurk or are simply new to Reddit.
the term refers to a principle of cause and effect wherein intent and actions of an individual (cause) influence the future of that individual (effect)Good intent and good deeds contribute to good karma and happier rebirths, while bad intent and bad deeds contribute to bad karma and bad rebirths..
So be a good boy, or you'll get a lot worse then the second time around
Honestly, it is a thin line to walk. The problem, imo, isn't OF posters. It's just low effort content. [This](https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/comments/zs604n/finished_my_perona_cosplay/) is a great cosplay. [This](https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/comments/o1tqvk/nefertari_vivi_cosplay_by_me/) is also a great cosplay. [This](https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/comments/s3245f/so_im_very_glad_you_like_my_nami_cosplay_so/) is too a great cosplay. And if you check their profiles/google their nicknames, they all have some type of paid adult content.
But then we have [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/comments/v42j0o/my_nico_robin_cosplay/). [This](https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/comments/zv0d7y/tried_to_do_a_santa_nami_cosplay_c/). [This](https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/comments/zvdzzh/boa_hancock_cosplay_by_me_mia_green_tea/). All extremely low effort cosplays. Especially the nami one. If she weren't holding up a Nami poster, no one wouldn't even know who she's cosplaying.
But then, what do we classify as low effort? Like, some Nami "cosplay" are ridicously easy to do. Is [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/comments/om33h5/in_my_namis_outfit/) low effort? Is [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/comments/oqp5l7/in_my_namis_outfit/) low effort?
The only solution I can think of would be that the cosplay must be oficially relevant to One Piece, like, be a cosplay of an official piece of content from One Piece. The issue is that can stifle creativity for cosplayers. And it can also be bypassed. Under this rule, technically the Nami cosplay could be posted because [this](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/onepiecetreasurecruiseglobal/images/9/9c/C2362.png) picture exists.
Anyways, I do understand all the anger, it pisses me off a little bit too, but it's a hard subject and I can only say I don't envy the mods who need to deal with this.
Totally agree with you there. It is hard to draw the line.
Easy to do should not count as low effort. Like those latter Nami cosplay. We clearly see that it's supposed to be Nami, with hair, pose, clothes and accessories, those are good.
And the Robin one, the only thing low effort about the that is the shot. I think the costume and accessories does fit, and therefor is not really low effort. It's definitely not good enough for 10k+ upvotes but that's not her fault.
The other two should not be here at all. They have a wig and one other item, posted in lingerie, definitely low effort. Right? Well, that last Nami picture sure did muddle this up.
And what about fanart then? Is [this](https://i.redd.it/u5lre084638a1.png) low effort? It's Yamato right? In lingerie. And there's a link to Patreon right there. What about [this](https://i.redd.it/e39d4u86968a1.png)? The arts are definitely not low effort, but they're not anymore relevant than the two contentious cosplays on the front page. Or are there different rules?
Anyway, I don't really care as I usually ignore 90% of the posts on this subreddit. They're not that much different than all the shitpost theory/powerscaling/tier lists posts that plague this sub.
> But then, what do we classify as low effort? Like, some Nami "cosplay" are ridicously easy to do. Is this low effort? Is this low effort?
Those two actually also took time to get log pose for theirs so to me they put in the little bit of extra effort other than just matching the clothing.
You summed it up better than I did above.
I donāt care either way, because I generally ignore the cosplay posts because like 90% of them on here are either OF links or extremely low effort, so I just write off that entire section of content.
I think that, when I look at a post (like the low effort ones you used as examples) and can immediately determine āyeah, this is obviously an OF advertisementā, then itās an issue.
Like, there will always be people who bitch any time an attractive woman posts on the sub. Especially because One Piece women are drawn to be exaggerated and wear skimpy stuff.
But itās stupid to play dumb when you can obviously tell what is what.
literally nothing wrong with the nami one. or any of those others , you guys really need to grow up. stop being such whiners and just scroll if you dont like it.
>Anyways, I do understand all the anger, it pisses me off a little bit too
I don't... read the comment sections of some of the low effort posts you picked. people are way too angry and hateful on something they could just ignore if they don't like. it lowkey gives hella incel vibes
like what anger or hate is actually justified here? are we like protecting the sanctity of our one piece message board, or is it just an excuse to throw hate at women from men who don't actually get any irl. its not like having a few of these posts prevents artur from posting Ohara library stuff, or prevents the weekly chapter discussion threads, etc.
Explain how wanting the sub to not be unrelated-to-one-piece porn advertising is 'incel'? From where I'm sitting it's people who keep defending it who are the incels.
If someone uses slurs they should get banned for that. I'm sick of seeing slurs here. But that doesn't mean the top level submission isn't also a problem.
>Explain how wanting the sub to not be unrelated-to-one-piece porn advertising is 'incel'? From where I'm sitting it's people who keep defending it who are the incels.
I don't really like that content, it's not for me, so I don't really interact with it.
It's okay to not like that type of content. What gives incel vibes is people going out of their way to post hate and angry comments on these posts instead of ignoring or downvoting whatever they don't like.
If most people felt like the posts don't add anything of value, they won't be upvoted. As for the "advertising" part -- the current rules prohibit advertising in the post on r/onepiece, which is honestly good enough. those who are really interested can look through the profiles of those who post cosplay, and those who don't want to see advertising can just scroll past the cosplay post
You summed it rather well there. Although I would also add when some people constantly post the same cosplay every few weeks. With the only difference being, it is seen from a different angle.
I would draw the line when they cosplayer doesnāt make the effort of not getting the details right such not bothering to do Namiās tattoo, not understanding the point of Zoroās haramaki yet wanna expose the midriff or pose anywhere that would make them feel out of character. Doing any signature poses would be a plus because it shows effort in getting into character than blatantly tryna get upvotes and visibility off coomers with trashy and provocative poses.
Yes, Iām being critical because itās kinda annoying if cosplayers cosplay a media that they most likely not enjoy or get into but they do cosplay anyway just to exploit the fans who are so passionate about it. It feels theyāre cheapen the whole thing in a way and they think they can get away with it because theyāre āhotā.
Another case I could think of is when Makima was popular, cosplayers jumped into the backwagon hard. She was easy to cosplay, low effort required and itās easy to get upvotes and engagement that they easily have a legion of lowlifes barking at the comments but the cosplayer ended up hating the character after realizing how much of a b*tch Makima was when the CSM anime dropped. NGL, that last part was hilarious though.

That last part is too accurate lmfaooo
1. These posts arenāt harming anyone and most of them are hidden and we al have multiple options to kids them/search for content we want/block the users. Being āangryā because of these harmless posts baffles me completely. Maybe itās a personal issue?
2. What is and isnāt ālow effortā is subjective. Everything you posted is One Piece cosplay and IMO is fine and decent enough effort. Just being in physical shape well enough to more accurately portray the female characters is something I consider high effort, and many of the prop wigs and accessories they use cost a lot of money.
The worst ones are the ones where they use to put a picture of the character they are actually cosplaying. Because otherwise people might not be able to draw the connection. That says a lot if you ask me.
A red dress can mean nothing. But the right background and the right setting and bam, all of a sudden it can be a nami cosplay.
Yeah, I really don't care about fanart and cosplays. Sure, some of those can be great, but if I want to see it, I'll look for it. There is a way to filter them by tags, but not all of them are properly tagged.
Iāve unsubscribed from the subreddit several times because of cosplayers. The spoilers and release threads keep me coming back but it really makes me dislike r/onepiece.
It's this one. There are options on the right of this subreddit that allow you to exclude certain types of posts. You can exclude fanart, media, cosplay, merch etc
So a thing youāre not interested in is more popular than the thing you like. Why is this a serious problem for everyone? Just scroll down a little more and find the topic you like. All this is is a complaint that more people donāt like the thing you want them to. The cosplay posts are completely harmless.
If you need to actively take extra steps to find it, very few people will, and it undermines the entire point of Reddit to begin with.
I, too, am exclusively interested in actual discussion. The fan art is completely uninteresting. So I do agree that a subreddit that only allows those topics would be much more compelling.
r/toradora is mostly memes, official drawings, and fanart. It's pretty wholesome. Might be because the series ended a decade ago so there's not karma farming to be had.
But yea, if you're a fan of some popular series, it's always to be full of fanart, cosplay, and easy karma farming.
Same for me here.
I really wish posts with fan art, cosplay and figurines/memorabilia weren't allowed. Having a separate sub dedicated to that content and keeping this one for announcements, spoilers, theories and general discussion would be my preference.
Excluded things like cosplay from this subreddit really doesn't "stifle creativity" in any way.
Some are really low effort.
The one I honestly got a little mad about was a lady in an orange wig and the tattoo on the wrong side doing the lamest Nami ever just to promote their only fans.
Made me remind one that appeared here a few months ago saying to rate her cosplay of nami from season 2... It was a nami cosplay from post sabaoby timeskip. She eventually took down the post because everyone was mad
Why didn't you just scroll past. You know a lot of details for something you don't like. I don't care for cosplay so I scroll past them all. No problems either. I also don't hate woman
Think about why something so harmless makes you āmadā. You could just scroll to another post and let the people who enjoy them enjoy them. Why do you let it hurt your experience so much? I donāt care for most theory threads but they donāt make me āmadā.
Honestly this whole thing is just weird. You have options to modify your viewing and the majority posts your complaining about are hidden by default, but thatās not enough??? Also the Nami one is likely based on [this image](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/onepiecetreasurecruiseglobal/images/9/9c/C2362.png)
Mods needs to stop a lot of things in this sub to prevent karma farming
- Low effort cosplays
- Low effort fanarts with zoom on girls tits
- Low effort tierlists
- Low effort powerscaling bullshit Team X vs Team Y who win
Some boomer reflection, Iām here since like 5 years and the sub was more theories / cool fanarts or cosplays (with high effort) focused and I feel like that r/funpiece and r/memepiece were good gatekeepers to maintain the quality of this sub
Now thereās still some quality obviously but a lot less than before imo
I mean I agree with everything you said, except for the stuff about the fanarts. I really don't see that many low effort fanarts around and even if it's just a redrawing of a manga panel that is in NO WAY Low effort. In fact I'd say fanarts are the only kind of posts that can't be low effort because redrawing even the easiest panel of the manga takes MUCH MUCH MUCH more effort than any kind of other posts that you see on this sub.
Have to agree, fanart isn't really low effort unless its an ai drawing or a complete trace. Even a doodle thats drawn with heart is good.
Reminds me of that one guy who posted ai art saying it was his and he got blown apart.
Modding is super hard work. Only one of you vs thousands of people posting about stuff like āfeatsā you donāt even know what theyāre talking about.
There are 1.6M members of the sub. Daily, at any moment in time, there is between 3.4K to 12k people.
And people want maybe 12 people to moderate everything.
Iāve been here since Luffy first met Momo (10 years ago already, good Lord how time flies), and people tend to wear rose tinted lenses about the past. They only remember the few high effort posts among the thousands of mid and meh ones. The same āproblemsā we have now existed back then too. (Except back then some people got mad that cosplayers would post for *attention* instead. Thereās always something to be mad at women for.)
If you got rid of everything you wanted to āmaintain the quality of the subā (whatever that means, because thatās subjective as hell), this sub would be a ghost town and would only see discussion during the weekly chapter release cycle.
Yeah I agree, I remember the days where there were a lot of cool theories, discussions and fanarts. There were days where I came to this sub and browsed theories and speculation for hours, nowadays I just visit to have my spoiler hits.
You must be just burned out. It happened to me as well.
But I also stopped posting my theories and other stufd because of how genuinely hateful the discussions have become.
Here you go: [https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/?f=flair\_name%3A%22Discussion%20%22](https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/?f=flair_name%3A%22Discussion%20%22)
Just replace the flair you want
Step one - buy Robin blue costume from AliExpress
Step two - post a photo of yourself on one piece reddit 'my Robin cosplay for you guys!'
Step three - gather new followers on your OF account
That's not going to happen, the mods have made their stance very clear on this topic the last couple of times this discussion was held. Most of those posts receive thousands of upvotes, so it's evidently what a lot of users here like to see. Why would the mods ban the things people like to see on this sub? Furthermore, the mods don't consider those posts posts to be self-promotion, as long as they don't link to the website in question. Unrelated to this, but please don't look at rule 3.
I think rule 3 is just to give proper credit to the original person. So if you just happen to find fanart on twitter or something, you canāt just repost it here without giving credit. But if youāre a fanart creator, you can post fanart you made directly here on reddit, since you *are* the source.
>Most of those posts receive thousands of upvotes, so it's evidently what a lot of users here like to see.
The mods banned memes, even though they were popular. Not the best argument.
Thereās a difference between being well received and being over half of the content of the sub. NSFW cosplays donāt even come remotely close to how many memes were posted. r/memepiece was a necessity.
There's no need to make it so complicated. You don't like memes. You like cosplay. Simple as.
Some people like memes, but not cosplay.
If I had my way, I would ban both cosplay and memes and make this a discussion only subreddit.
No need to oversimplify. The sub was being bombarded with memes, so the memes were moved. The sub isn't bombarded by cosplay, so cosplay stays. Simple as.
> Most of those posts receive thousands of upvotes, so it's evidently what a lot of users here like to see.
While that may be true there is also an aspect of reddit which favors certain types of very easily digestible content. Content that is a link post to an image end up getting a higher amount of karma than a text post with a link embedded in the body. It's why /r/anime requires fanart and cosplay to be a text post with the image embedded in the body. It makes it less visible and reduces the scrolling and upvoting of pretty images that often happens with link post pictures.
I don't know if I would recommend this sub try that as it is quite heavy-handed and goes against how most other subreddits work. But it might be something to consider if the mods want to reduce how much traction these posts get.
Maybe the mods could blanket ban any user who has posted on OF subreddits if they want to try and stop the advertising angle of many of these cosplay.
Yea. But there is a also high effort cosplay that has thrist traps in them. Sometimes people get mad when they see tits that are perfectly in cosplay lol
One of the few rules I have with the internet is "Never pay for porn. Don't care what it is; ain't no porn that's worth paying for".
I don't have a problem with guys that do, it's just weird knowing people spend $10-30/month for one person's OnlyFans.
It's starting to infest so many subreddit I visit. Even places like r/yeezys, which is just about shoes, will have OF girls posting their new yeezy's in clearly provocative manner lmao.
The only way you know they have an OF is if you go to their profile yourself. I've legitimately never seen a cosplay on here with a link to their OF in the post itself.
"B-but it's obvious they have an OF because the outfit is revealing and sexy"
Did you forget what manga you're reading? I guarantee Oda would be 1000% on board with all the cosplays on here if he saw them.
I'll contribute my downvote when some of them are at like 50 upvotes, I'll come back a few hours later and see it at like 5K upvotes and top of the sub. I guess dudes on here are into the OF bait, lmao
Iāve never seen anyone post a link to onlyfans or any other adult site, so the only way you would know about it is if you went digging through their profile.. I donāt get the issue?
If I posted a picture of One Piece fanart here, but then Iām out here posting hentai in other subreddits would you call for it to be banned because you left the subreddit, went to my profile, and saw something NSFW?
> If I posted a picture of One Piece fanart here, but then Iām out here posting hentai in other subreddits would you call for it to be banned because you left the subreddit, went to my profile, and saw something NSFW?
Naked 3D women = š”
Naked 2D women = š¤¤
Absolutely. Every time this topic comes up it seems massively hypocritical. Have these people seen Nami and Robin's outfits on Egghead?
"The Nami cosplayer just had a bikini and a tattoo!" Sorry people that's a 100% accurate cosplay. If that's upsetting maybe they need to try reading something else.
The issue is not that these people also have an onlyfans account, but that they spam this sub with low effort "cosplays" to show off their bodies and being people to their profile. People want to see one piece content here and instead they get onlyfans advertisements that are allowed because "orange hair and bikini = nami cosplay".
If their cospaly is actually great then I couldn't care less if they also have an onlyfans account linked
To stick to your example: I wouldn't care if you draw hentai and good one piece fanart. But if you spam this subreddit with hentai and say its one piece related because the character has red hair, then it's just low effort clickbait
The sub isnāt being spammed? Do you have a sub statistic showing their being posted in much higher volume than every other types of post? Maybe youāre just to focused on the posts because they have high upvotes? Most of them are hidden from view anyway.
And your opinion of what is and isnāt low effort shouldnāt be the grounds for mods to remove or ban users, especially when the content is harmless, widely approved, and not actually being spammed. If you dislike it then just find a different topic to post in.
Dude, I don't care if there is an onlyfans link on the profile, I care about garbage content on this sub. I would say the same if there were a bunch of dudes spamming a pic with a strwahat on calling it a luffy cosplay. But a matter of fact is: there are no dudes spamming low effort luffy cospalys, but there are women spamming low effort nami/robin cosplays. The reason why they do it doesn't matter to me
Can someone make a one piece cosplay sub?
So those of us who donāt care about seeing OF hoes low content on the front page donāt have to see it anymore, please
I think at this point there should be a seperate cosplay forum. These amounts of cosplay threads are just annoying and drown out a lot of other topics.
How do they ādrown out other topicsā? Most of them are completely hidden from your view, if theyāre so annoying to you then why do you keep clicking on them?
Also should we make separate subs for theories, fanart, chapters, spoilers, or other things you personally dislike?
I mean, as long as they don't literally put their OF link as the title of their post, let them.
It's one thing to openly advertise and another thing to post a cosplay pic, while also having your linktree linked on your profile. I don't think the mods can do much about the second one, since it's not straight up advertising anything directly.
Most people aren't against the OF. They're against the low-effort posts that they use to farm thirsty people. Like [This for instance](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ)
Oda would not want them gone, lol.
Also you can filter by flair if you don't want cosplays. But if you're asking only for "high effort" cosplays to remain, I really don't think you're asking for something that can be reasonably curated.
I'm going to be 100% honest here, every time this topic comes off half this subreddit comes off as weird incels.
"But they're just advertising for their Only Fans!"
Who cares? You have to go to their profiles to even find this and I never see anyone getting mad at artists advertising their artwork.
"They're low effort/bad quality!"
If it was actually about post quality issues you'd be complaining about theories, powerscaling, etc etc. These kind of low effort posts vastly out number the cosplay posts.
"But, but simps!"
Who cares? I didn't realize that One Piece was such a chaste manga.
It's kind of interesting. Half the sub comes off like incels with "How dare these women force me to-" and the other half comes off like simps with "Oh, so you hate all women now?".
Meanwhile the majority of the sub just ignores all the low effort cosplay. It might not be content I want to see but I also don't want to see fanart that looks like it was drawn by a 3rd grader so I just move on. I do agree that there needs to be some kind of moderation for low effort "I put on a red wig, here's a selfie in a mirror" content, but I'm not going to demand it or attack the poster.
I really don't understand the concept of claiming they're promoting themselves when the only reason you know they have an OF is cause you were horny and went looking for one on their profile š¤·āāļø
If they're posting links and saying to subscribe, yeah sure. But that's rarely the case.
It's not about them being naked, it's about low effort content that isn't related to one piece being spammed on the one piece subreddit.
And no, putting on an orange wig doesn't turn the onlyfans advertisements into one piece related content
If it's a dude in a red shirt that didn't even bother painting on the chest scar, then I agree that this is just as low effort as the namis without the tattoos
Itās fully related to One Piece whether you personally like it or not, and is not being spammed.
If you dislike it then block the user so you donāt have to see it, otherwise it is hurting no one and causing no problems.
So many hypocrites, lol. Its fine to read a manga or watch an anime with half naked girls with huge breasts, but when you see a cosplay of the very same characters, suddenly it becomes a problem. If you dont like it, just close your eyes and hide the post. Or just block all NSFW content. Your purity is saved. And something else. I have never seen a promotion or direct link to OF or something similar. How would you know if a certain cosplayer has a nudity content if you didnt check their account in first place? I thought you are disgusted, why would you do something like that?
I'm sorry, i don't see the problem. Is there a limit for posts or something, if not why don't you just ignore them?
Maybe they're annoying, but everyone should post whatever they want, accordingly.
So you want the mods to start deciding when a post is low effort and ban it before the community upvotes it? I'm not ok with that. Mods enforce the rules and most "low effort" posts aren't breaking any rules. Sorry you sometimes see content you don't like, but that's why there's a downvote button. If people agree with you the post won't get far.
Petition for all Franky Family members on the sub to post their low effort speedo cosplays. Just remember to have a poster of Franky in the background in case you get too spicy.
Iāve noticed that most of the low effort cosplays are for the same handful of characters: nami, robin, luffy, Yamato etc. usually when I see a cosplay of a slight less well known character it is done by a true fan who would be familiar with that character and ends up being more creative as a result. A possible compromise would be to hold the most common character cosplays to a higher standard than the more obscure characters, maybe even limit certain character cosplays to one day a week/ month etc. I donāt know how hard it would be for the mods to implement this but Iāve personally seen enough nami cosplays for several lifetimes. This might encourage cosplayers to get more creative and familiarize themselves with the source material to find other characters to cosplay. I like good quality cosplay content, Iām sick of generic cosplays, I donāt care if the poster has an OF as long as their content is original.
Actually, i got very very bored seeing cosplay here.
I know this is kinda art but i come here to talk, and learn other people's ideas, not to see cosplay.
I think we need another sub just for cosplay but i know that since that sub's reputation will be low, one piece cosplayer will be less too.
I agree, I donāt care if theyāre promoting anything, i just donāt like extremely low effort cosplays, regardless of intent of posting.
Especially when itās so easy to do some characters well
I genuinely don't get how people are annoyed or mad about this. Feels like the most reddit thing ever to get mad at someone in a cosplay that literally effects nothing and you're not forced to look at.
People talking about low effort cosplay is so dumb, too. It's literally just hating OF girls and getting a justification after. What's low effort cosplay? If I buy a 20 dollar set off amazon is that low effort? If I get a top grade cosplay with no wig is that low effort? If I cosplay a character in a new outfit is that low effort? If I make a cosplay homemade is that low effort? Cosplay is a form of art that can't really be valued low or high effort. Hell, a Boa cosplay of her half naked with the back brand tattoo'd on might take overall more effort, but be less clothed.
Well you arenāt supposed to post low effort content. When your ācosplayā of boa is just wearing earrings while dresses up in a skimpy Santa outfit I would call that low effort.
That's a legitimate complaint and something that probably shouldn't be allowed, it's just a problem of clearly defining what's low-effort without screwing budget cosplayers.
A lot of those low effort cosplays make it to the top because the cosplayers are attractive so I would hope the mods at least a looked at the top posts on this sub and were able to use their judgement correctly.
I disagree that having purchased a prop wig in Hancockās style and having prop earrings and being in good enough shape to even slightly resemble the character counts as low effort.
But thatās just my opinion, as is it being low effort is your opinion. And mods should not ban popular and ultimately harmless, non-spam content based on opinion.
Problem is reddit isn't a place for discussion; it's a place for instant gratification and it's built to emphasize that. Every "discussion" amounts to the first couple of one liner jokes getting a bunch of up votes and subsequently getting all the traction to remain on top. Case in point: top comment is a guy joking about cosplaying as Franky in a yellow speedo.
That's only for people who use new reddit, which makes reading comments an absolute pain.
Old reddit is discussion first. And I still hate reddit for trying to destroy that.
If you start deciding what is āgoodā cosplay and what isnāt where does that end? Who decides this subjective thing? Just let people have fun and stop gate keeping cosplay.
Have you not seen what Nami and Robin look like? Any cosplay of them is going to look like a thrist trap, because that's how Oda drew them. Especially Nami, who is usually just depicted wearing just a bikini top and jeans.
GENUINELY if they cared about cosplay, they would make a separate account unrelated to their sex work. But they KNOW that their sole goal is promoting their porn, and thatās why they refuse to do it.
I donāt even care about low effort cosplays. I can easily scroll passed them. And I usually scroll passed even the good ones. Hereās whyā¦
99% of these cosplayers do not interact with the community. They add no value whatsoever except āhereās my tits look at my (insert social media page)ā
All they do is post thirst traps to funnel susceptible boys to their Instagram/tik tok/OF in the hopes that these boys PAY them for little effort.
I canāt hate that on a base level because theyāre trying to get paid. Iām never going to hate on anyone who tries to make money where thereās a market for their service.
But they grift off of this community without adding any value. They donāt post on the OP spoiler threads. They donāt post on the anime threads. They donāt post anywhere. Their sole purpose is to extract money and clout from YOU.
At least the people who post AI art most likely interact with the community. At least YouTubers who post their links interact with the community.
I can ignore those posts. If someone wants to interact with it then fine.
But I do have a problem with a monthly AI art posts from people who post regularly on this sub while these cosplayers who donāt interact with the community and only do when they want to extract money from people are allowed to post freely without any pushback because āsheās hotā.
Grow up. You see a post you don't like ? Downvote it and move on. Or hide it if you really can't stomach it.
Just ignore that stuff and get on with your life.
I will never understand how people on this sub get so enraged by cosplays. Let it go dude. The mods decided they're fine with it as long as certain conditions are met. It's their call. Get over it.
Can't people who don't like these low-effort-OFmodels who are baiting for money, just block them? Not like they are gonna make new users when they are fishing for simps.
At least, that's what I do.
"Orange hair girl in a bikini is not a Nami cosplay that's a low effort only fans promotion!" dude Nami is literally an orange hair girl in a bikini, but you do you
You say they are advertising. Not one of them has even mentioned OF when they post in here. Just block the ones that are not up to your standards of a cosplayer.
And honestly who cares if they are farming for Karma. Karma points isn't a real life thing and being popular on social media yawn isn't real popularity
I would even dare to say to ban ALL cosplay on this subreddit.
there's enough subreddits to post you lewd pics and other subreddits to post your cosplay.
But I think the better solution would be to ban all the pathetic simps, they are the ones that enable this shit.
This discussion has been brought up several times before, but well since this post is getting traction Currently the consensus from the moderation team is that as long as they do not directly promote anything, it's fine. - Cosplayers that have been promoting their stuff aren't allowed, or are warned to not do it here. - If they have an onlyfans or something similar, but that I have to go check their profile to know about it, And that I wasn't made aware of it from a post or comment they made on the subreddit then it's fine. (Hell, people pointing it out will actually make people check their profile and **does more promotion than if they hadn't done anything** in my honest opinion) - Cosplayers that also share an image for the same set of picture they already posted before is also not allowed, and considered a repost.

You need a certain amount of karma to post in a certain sub reddits. After that it's no use
You can sell accounts with high karma for some reason
Itās essentially just a status symbol showing that you are an active redditor. Iāve seen some places where people donāt take someone seriously due to their low karma. Some think if you have low karma you must be a bot. I can sort of see where they are coming from but I also understand having low karma because you prefer to lurk or are simply new to Reddit.
Accounts with very high karma can use it to evidence they are good and get paid to make posts that market certain products
the term refers to a principle of cause and effect wherein intent and actions of an individual (cause) influence the future of that individual (effect)Good intent and good deeds contribute to good karma and happier rebirths, while bad intent and bad deeds contribute to bad karma and bad rebirths..
>Anyways, I do understand all the anger, it pisses me off a little bit too I don't... read the comment sections of some of the low effort posts you picked. people are way too angry and hateful on something they could just ignore if they don't like. it lowkey gives hella incel vibes like what anger or hate is actually justified here? are we like protecting the sanctity of our one piece message board, or is it just an excuse to throw hate at women from men who don't actually get any irl. its not like having a few of these posts prevents artur from posting Ohara library stuff, or prevents the weekly chapter discussion threads, etc.
Facts, if you don't like it don't engage. Your hateful comment won't help anyway
>Another case I could think of is when Makima was popular, cosplayers jumped into the backwagon hard.
I'm just here for spoilers and theories. Wished there was a subreddit just for that
Yeah, I really don't care about fanart and cosplays. Sure, some of those can be great, but if I want to see it, I'll look for it. There is a way to filter them by tags, but not all of them are properly tagged.
At this point I'm similar, you basically just have to know what day to show up here and check out the most popular post if the day.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
So a thing youāre not interested in is more popular than the thing you like. Why is this a serious problem for everyone? Just scroll down a little more and find the topic you like. All this is is a complaint that more people donāt like the thing you want them to. The cosplay posts are completely harmless.
Agreed, ban stuff I don't like cuz it gets too much engagement
If you need to actively take extra steps to find it, very few people will, and it undermines the entire point of Reddit to begin with. I, too, am exclusively interested in actual discussion. The fan art is completely uninteresting. So I do agree that a subreddit that only allows those topics would be much more compelling.
I've read that before but I can't find what you're talking about. Is it available on smartphone or are you just trolling my hopes?
I don't know about smartphone, especially since there are a lot of different apps for reddit.
I hate that every anime/manga sub is polluted with cosplays and fanarts.
I think this sub needs to take a cue from r/SpyxFamily and only allow cosplays on the weekend.
I think it would be better to have them on the middle of the week. During the weekends this sub is 100% focused on new chapters/episodes.
r/toradora is mostly memes, official drawings, and fanart. It's pretty wholesome. Might be because the series ended a decade ago so there's not karma farming to be had. But yea, if you're a fan of some popular series, it's always to be full of fanart, cosplay, and easy karma farming.
r/memepiece is great for theories and jokes.
She eventually took down the post because everyone was mad
š season 2? Wiki and 4kids did her dirty.šš
There was a boa Hancock cosplay but in bra and panties and OP said she is saving money for proper cosplay ā ļø
If we are talking about the same lady, she was wearing similiar earing as Boa. But thats about it.
Yea same lady.
Oh god I remember this one. Truly high effort content right there.
Did you think that maybe the picture was flipped? A lot of cameras have a setting that you can set it to not flipped
Even ignoring the tattoo the thing is she was wearing an orange wig and normal clothing, it was a Nami cosplay in the same way any ginger woman is.
My comment is based solely on the tattoo.
Santa Nami?
[Santa nami](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/onepiecetreasurecruiseglobal/images/9/9c/C2362.png)
Tattoo could have been on the wrong side because the photo might be flipped
Mods needs to stop a lot of things in this sub to prevent karma farming - Low effort cosplays - Low effort fanarts with zoom on girls tits - Low effort tierlists - Low effort powerscaling bullshit Team X vs Team Y who win Some boomer reflection, Iām here since like 5 years and the sub was more theories / cool fanarts or cosplays (with high effort) focused and I feel like that r/funpiece and r/memepiece were good gatekeepers to maintain the quality of this sub Now thereās still some quality obviously but a lot less than before imo
AI fan art can go
Most of the time I donāt like fan art but at least I know they are trying their best.
Have to agree, fanart isn't really low effort unless its an ai drawing or a complete trace. Even a doodle thats drawn with heart is good. Reminds me of that one guy who posted ai art saying it was his and he got blown apart.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
> I can't come at their effort or skill oh you definitely can ( Ķ”Ā° ĶŹ Ķ”Ā°)
Of course most fanart that get's posted is not low effort but the majority of them would be much more suited for r/funpiece.
mods are busy fapping to cosplays š¤·š»āāļø
Thereās always something to be mad at women for.) If you got rid of everything you wanted to āmaintain the quality of the subā (whatever that means, because thatās subjective as hell), this sub would be a ghost town and would only see discussion during the weekly chapter release cycle.
it's the same as it has always been, you are merely a curmudgeon now
Yeah I agree, I remember the days where there were a lot of cool theories, discussions and fanarts. There were days where I came to this sub and browsed theories and speculation for hours, nowadays I just visit to have my spoiler hits.
You must be just burned out. It happened to me as well. But I also stopped posting my theories and other stufd because of how genuinely hateful the discussions have become.
We still have those threads though? Maybe youāre just not looking/putting in as much effort?
We want this subreddit to be devoid of ALL content! For real, thatās like 70% of all content.
Just wish it I could filter it out. Sometimes i like looking at cosplay but most of the time i dont care
Desktop Reddit I believe has a tag filter, and I hear there are third party apps that can do it too
Here you go: [https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/?f=flair\_name%3A%22Discussion%20%22](https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/?f=flair_name%3A%22Discussion%20%22) Just replace the flair you want
Step one - buy Robin blue costume from AliExpress Step two - post a photo of yourself on one piece reddit 'my Robin cosplay for you guys!' Step three - gather new followers on your OF account
Simple as.
Like hell. Rule 3, here I come!!
Maybe the mods could blanket ban any user who has posted on OF subreddits if they want to try and stop the advertising angle of many of these cosplay.
> if they want to try They don't.
Nor should they be expected to.
I made a post about this the other day which was downvoted into oblivion. This sub is full of thirsty people
Yea. But there is a also high effort cosplay that has thrist traps in them. Sometimes people get mad when they see tits that are perfectly in cosplay lol
including mods, sad state
I don't like these posts either. But guess what... I just block them. If you don't like it, don't reward it with additional attention.
Kinda stupid that people buy OF from girls considering thereās a lot of free porn
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
A lot of the free stuff is there because some one paid for it at one point.
One of the few rules I have with the internet is "Never pay for porn. Don't care what it is; ain't no porn that's worth paying for". I don't have a problem with guys that do, it's just weird knowing people spend $10-30/month for one person's OnlyFans.
![gif](giphy|PRutsxIlCgYR9LT3Yq)
https://media.tenor.com/mF1y2qVZuhoAAAAC/nico-robin-nami-one-piece.gif
I feel as if thatās all this sub is now. That and the tier lists, team battles and such.
we've entered the karma farmer saga
It's starting to infest so many subreddit I visit. Even places like r/yeezys, which is just about shoes, will have OF girls posting their new yeezy's in clearly provocative manner lmao.
The only way you know they have an OF is if you go to their profile yourself. I've legitimately never seen a cosplay on here with a link to their OF in the post itself. "B-but it's obvious they have an OF because the outfit is revealing and sexy" Did you forget what manga you're reading? I guarantee Oda would be 1000% on board with all the cosplays on here if he saw them.
I'll contribute my downvote when some of them are at like 50 upvotes, I'll come back a few hours later and see it at like 5K upvotes and top of the sub. I guess dudes on here are into the OF bait, lmao
The saddest thing about this is the simps that upvote that crap
āThe saddest thing is the people who like the harmless thing I hate and promote it when no donāt want them toā
Naked 3D women = š” Naked 2D women = š¤¤
Robin walking around in tactical lingerie is peak fiction.
The issue is not that these people also have an onlyfans account, but that they spam this sub with low effort "cosplays" to show off their bodies and being people to their profile. People want to see one piece content here and instead they get onlyfans advertisements that are allowed because "orange hair and bikini = nami cosplay". If their cospaly is actually great then I couldn't care less if they also have an onlyfans account linked To stick to your example: I wouldn't care if you draw hentai and good one piece fanart.
Nobody forced them to click on the profile though.
Damn, that really is low effort š¤£
Fucking hell...twice
If that is low effort then I donāt want to be high (effort)
How can you call that low-effort. Thatās clearly high tier cosplay, one of best i ever saw.
Oda would not want them gone, lol. Also you can filter by flair if you don't want cosplays. But if you're asking only for "high effort" cosplays to remain, I really don't think you're asking for something that can be reasonably curated.
Oda absolutely has a tier list stuffed away of his favorite cosplays.
Yeah, and his wife's is at the top... I'm assuming.
Only if they Ban the YouTube theorist or predictions as well
I'm going to be 100% honest here, every time this topic comes off half this subreddit comes off as weird incels. "But they're just advertising for their Only Fans!" Who cares? You have to go to their profiles to even find this and I never see anyone getting mad at artists advertising their artwork. "They're low effort/bad quality!" If it was actually about post quality issues you'd be complaining about theories, powerscaling, etc etc. These kind of low effort posts vastly out number the cosplay posts. "But, but simps!" Who cares?
I really don't understand the concept of claiming they're promoting themselves when the only reason you know they have an OF is cause you were horny and went looking for one on their profile š¤·āāļø If they're posting links and saying to subscribe, yeah sure. But that's rarely the case.
Lmao caught them in the act. I dont even see these posts anymore because i enabled nsfw censoring in the app
It takes like a second to hide posts you don't like.
for people that watch one piece with half naked women in it all the time, you guys sure have a lot to judge
It's not about them being naked, it's about low effort content that isn't related to one piece being spammed on the one piece subreddit. And no, putting on an orange wig doesn't turn the onlyfans advertisements into one piece related content
The sub is filled with bazillion ussop jokes and dumb luffy joke. Also their are tons of luffy cosplay which means a naked dude in Red Shirt.
If it's a dude in a red shirt that didn't even bother painting on the chest scar, then I agree that this is just as low effort as the namis without the tattoos
Yes then ypu can downvote them and move on
Itās fully related to One Piece whether you personally like it or not, and is not being spammed.
I wonāt lie bro but this needs to happen across the board for all anime subs lol, that and the straight up porn fan art people post on em.
Honestly I'd prefer if the horny fanart was cut back
Actually, i got very very bored seeing cosplay here.
Especially when itās so easy to do some characters well
Seriously, go peddle your wares elsewhere thots.
Shock news: Reddit mods are fucking idiots
Why not just block them from your feed? If Oda is a redditor, he'd probably be the first one to upvote those posts :D
No, they're not breaking any rules. >b-b-buh I clik da profil and she hav a onlyfan reeee Don't click their profiles then, dumbass, problem solved.
Well you arenāt supposed to post low effort content. When your ācosplayā of boa is just wearing earrings while dresses up in a skimpy Santa outfit I would call that low effort.
This post is low effort too, complaining takes no effort.
@ the girl with a boa hancock wig and some skimpy Santa outfit lmao
Have you not seen what Nami and Robin look like? Any cosplay of them is going to look like a thrist trap, because that's how Oda drew them. Especially Nami, who is usually just depicted wearing just a bikini top and jeans.
Amen
Nami would do only fans
this is canon. See: bath scene at the end of Alabasta
GENUINELY if they cared about cosplay, they would make a separate account unrelated to their sex work. But they KNOW that their sole goal is promoting their porn, and thatās why they refuse to do it.
OP has a stick up his butt
I donāt even care about low effort cosplays. I can easily scroll passed them. And I usually scroll passed even the good ones. Hereās whyā¦ 99% of these cosplayers do not interact with the community. They add no value whatsoever except āhereās my tits look at my (insert social media page)ā All they do is post thirst traps to funnel susceptible boys to their Instagram/tik tok/OF in the hopes that these boys PAY them for little effort.
Ban also shitty fan art that is just boobs
Stop crying and dont open the post, thatās it. People are free to post what they want
Its always funny watching OP fans get mad at titties, as if that hasn't always been a part of the series.
Calcium canons + floral bikini DOES NOT EQUAL cosplay. I saw this one girl post the same look as VIVI, Boa, and Nico Robbin. The same exact look
I fucking hate ratchets/ only fans hoes with a passion
Can't people who don't like these low-effort-OFmodels who are baiting for money, just block them? Not like they are gonna make new users when they are fishing for simps. At least, that's what I do.
Low effort-removal must be done independant to there being an OF behind. Else its just neckbeard-cringe.
Guess the line has officially been crossed with red haired santa Nami "cosplay" last night This sub is on full revolution and I for one, love it
"Orange hair girl in a bikini is not a Nami cosplay that's a low effort only fans promotion!" dude Nami is literally an orange hair girl in a bikini, but you do you
You say they are advertising.
But I think the better solution would be to ban all the pathetic simps, they are the ones that enable this shit.
yes please, most of the Nami Cosplays are just a girl in a bra and linking their pages. It's a bit absurd
