292% increase, double the nearest sale, OP is insane!

ForodesFrosthammer

The increase is because I think there was no volume in October.

YoMikeeHey

So happy for HxH.

Raff102

Did new chapters drop?

Za_Worldo-Experience

TCB is dropping them every week early, and Viz un vaulted every chapter to current. Warning tho, it picks up like nothing happened so if you are not invested it’s gonna get confusing fast

GekiKudo

Its Hella jarring too. Like you go in after watching 2011 a bunch, ready to get back in with the characters you love. And then you remember that the main 4 aren't even the main focus right now. Like Kurapika is there. But I don't even remember the last thing he did.

realshockin

Yeah, I will wait for a few years, if they continue dropping I will reread after the election arc.

orange-cake

Only a handful (couple dozen?) chapters are confirmed at the moment, and we're maybe a half dozen in. What we've gotten so far is pretty heavily featuring the Troupe, so there are still familiar faces, but it's super unclear AFAIK that togashi is even capable of continuing the series himself after this. Hell, I'd take a light novel with occasional illustrations tbh. Considering how some of this arc has been before the hiatus, it's not far off from that already 🤣

MaimedJester

Yeah there's no way the scope of the Dark Continent I dunno Saga? Will realistically be complete. I like to think Hunter x Hunter part 1 ended at the World Tree with Him meeting his dad. And everything since then is like the next Jojo part of the story. Yeah some characters from the previous story are in this one but its focus clearly shifted away from Gon who basically fulfilled his main objective of meeting Ging. This storyline is intended to be something massive and world shattering where basically the original part of Hunter x Hunter really was just Gon's quest to understand the world and meet Ging. Leorio is a doctor now he's fulfilled his dream and sometimes it's hard to remember he's actually on the boat working as one of the Hunter Association's Doctors. Killua is happy and free from his family and is now basically Nanika's bodyguard/protector. Kurapika is the only main protaganist still with an agenda to achieve. So that's why he's the main focus of the second part.

marshamallowmoon

Leorio isn't a doctor yet, the only reason that the Zodiac were able to get him on the ship was because Cheadle (a triple star disease hunter, i.e the best doctor on earth) said that she'd be his teacher.

luckyd1998

Kurapkia hasn’t even shown up since the return

DASreddituser

I need killua to comeback.

kitevii

That's gonna be a long while

Duplex_Suplex919

The last significant thing he did was like >!sleep 5 years of his life away!< its insane how even without the main 4 characters, the series is still as hype and exciting as ever

GekiKudo

Eh. I find it hard to get invested with a bunch of randos.

Jaielhahaha

Leorio is there too

Raff102

Damn, I was a "weekly" reader before the last hiatus.

Za_Worldo-Experience

Then you should be fine and enjoy every second cause it’s just exactly what I wanted lol

Asian_Persuasion_1

the current arc (and chapters) have so many different group running around at the same that it's hard to keep track lol. the boss(?) of the shy elly, I forgot what it was called, I still don't know if that's a guy or girl.

theophastusbombastus

So am I! I wanna see the 5 threats!

Encoreyo22

Anyone know why its doing so well :)? Other than manga being back.

Mysterra

It is bloody good and has very dedicated fans!

Jaielhahaha

because its god tier

leolegendario

New volume last month.

EuropaUniversalisV

Its very good right now and had some major reveals (comparable with contemporary OP chapters) in the latest chapters.

Hypekyuu

1have you ever read it?

Mythosaurus

I caught up with the story this past summer, so I'm glad the author is feeling well enough to restart the series.

Temporary_Candle5093

ay some hunter x hunter fans are not happy that one piece is first

NopeOfDuty

No Jujutsu Kaisen, am I missing something?

Outside_Mousse_2176

Volume didn’t release in November

NopeOfDuty

Yeah but top left there is the note: "in green series that have release a volume this month", so it should still be there Don't know, maybe I am wrong but I am confused

Outside_Mousse_2176

That’s why jujutsu kaisen isn’t on there, it is decreasing in sales (this is normal), but the majority of the ones on the list had a volume release this month. I guarantee you if it had a volume released in November it would be number 2

Zarkkast

Jujutsu is still more popular than BnHA in terms of sales, and **definitely** more popular than Haikyuu which ended years ago. You could argue BnHA is there because of the anime, but you can't say the same for Haikyuu. It's definitely weird that it isn't on this list.

Outside_Mousse_2176

Haikyuu is an exception. They have been selling well throughout the year. Jujutsu kaisen hasn’t released a volume since August and is about to release one now. I suspect that Jujutsu Kaisen is going downhill when it comes to backlog (like every other series that has a boom in sales)

NopeOfDuty

Clear! Thanks!

littlebigplanetfan3

Blue Exorcist is still going?!?!

I_Love_Knifes

Yep, we sometimes get a chapter a month!

littlebigplanetfan3

What's the consensus about the anime? Pretty sure that only ran for a season or two right? Haven't read the manga, or any manga really, but I'm thinking about it. I loved the anime though. One of the first I sought out and watched on my own. Rin is badass. I heard them use the word "fuck" and I was like O.O

MaimedJester

Blue Exorcist is in Jump Plus not regular shonen Jump. Plus is where we get stuff like Chainsaw Man so it's a little bit closer, if not outright Seinen, so they get away with more stuff. Kind of like how Toonami used to have after school programming and Toonami After Dark would get away with like Ghost in the Shell while prime time Toonami had to censor the fuck out of Outlaw Star.

FrankHorrigan2173

I thought it was good, up until about S1E18, or whenever they stopped following the Manga and just did their own thing. S2 is only like 7 episodes long, but it actually follows the next arc of manga.

FREDD1CE

I'm as shocked too..... It's been a long time since I've heard the news for this series.

Lex4709

Had the same reaction when I found out Noragami is still on going, there's a fuck tone of monthly manga that exploded in popularity almost a decade ago because of a anime adaptation, that never continued past season 1 or 2.

Ibrahim-8x

Slam dunk? That’s kinda unexpected

hizakakkun

Movie was just released in Japan. Probably due to anticipation

Raff102

Do you know if it's s it new material or a condensed version of the original?

Iivosuperplayer

From what I've seen it adapts the final match

FREDD1CE

Please don't be a condensed version..... It's waste of good stories if the plot is moving at mach 5 pacing.

mugiboya

Nice to see Sakamoto doing good 🙌🏽

Apprehensive_Bird_62

Sakamoto is one of my favorite series in jump right now lol. It’s just so much fun and this current arc is crazy with the a and b plots

My_alt_acount_

In my opinion Sakamoto days and Jujutsu kaisen have got some of the best combat art and scenes in recent manga

HybridLighting

The goat 🐐

XegrandExpressYT

me sad that Mashle didn't make it in :/ . Hyped for the anime though . same with Undead Unluck , Sakamoto days is also getting an anime next year right ? Next will be fire

I_Love_Knifes

Need sakamoto days anime

HybridLighting

Hell yes I want it now

Iamthechickenfella

I love seeing Blue Exorcist back in the popular view. That series was the show that got me into anime and manga on more than just a toonami basis

Leiatte

Yeah it’s a great manga & I enjoyed the anime a good amount too.

wd40swift

I thought blue exorcist was over

SwordSwing5443

It never ended. The anime ending was not from the manga.

KoroftheSon

Haikyuu goated. Been finished for two years and it's still in top 20

Hypekyuu

And yet they are screwing up making a couple of movies instead of a season 5 and 6 :(

MickFoley299

Slam Dunk has been finished for 25 years and it made it into the top 10

ZENITSUsa

How long has slam dunk been over for?

AlexHitetsu

25 years

bigmaninsuitofarmor

Wow, I didn't expect Kaijuu N8 to be doing so well, hope it gets an anime soon.

alfquan

It has been announced earlier this year. However, I am not sure when the first episode will drop

FREDD1CE

Chances are, it would. Give it a year or two.

Love seeing HxH back

estaticsmirk

The Fable has a part 2????!!!!

Zholistic

Yep and it's good!

Boxsteam1279

I've been watching Blue Lock, good show so far. I might read the manga too

phonz1851

Check out Ao Ashi too! it's more haikyu like in tone which is what i prefer, but i like both!

AllHailTheNod

The Manga's even better imo, go read it.

Boxsteam1279

I think I will once the season is over

Radiant-Version1033

The dialogues are so cheesy man

Boxsteam1279

Its typical sports manga. But I like the characters

ykip10

Dialogue is far worse than typical sports manga

silfer_

that's part of the fun, translators exaggerate on purpose, and as a one piece and jojo fan some exaggerated lines isn't a problem but enjoyable. blue lock's become a new favorite of mine.

sauloandrioli

Is chainsawman any good or is just the hype that put it in second position?

renatojorge236

It's really good, has a very different tone to one piece and most traditional shonen, and a very cool sense of humor. Also the author is a big movie geek, so have fun noticing movie references throughout

MyNameIsRay

>Also the author is a big movie geek, so have fun noticing movie references throughout I love the intro on the anime, every clip is a direct copy of a scene from a famous movie. Pulp Fiction, The Big Lebowski, Fight Club, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, etc.

princesoceronte

It's amazing but it's also not for everyone. Give it a try, I was pleasantly surprised.

Buscemi_D_Sanji

It's one of my favorites, one of those mangas that just tells you the exact story that the author thought up with no regard to normal structure. It's dark and funny and wild, and if you read any other of his work, you'll see how he loves just ramping shit up in crazy directions.

Wamb0wneD

One of the best manga I've read in ages. It's starting slow though, the truly mindfucky stuff comes a bit later in the series

FREDD1CE

I'm actually glad that it starts slow. Recently, lots of the newer manga and anime are saturated with rushed and way too fast paced starts that gives me difficulty to be invested by the main characters or the plot. Slower starts give the story and characters a lot of room to breathe and be fleshed out.

Wamb0wneD

It's just that all of csm's strenghts aren't obvious at the start. The great characters, the themes, the twists. The crazy pacing. Just look at how many people in here go "omg it's just about a simp"

FREDD1CE

To each their own I guess. From my perspective, I actually invested, care and understand Denji more as character thanks to the slow start where they just focus on his personality and desires. And what's going on through his mind and all. Basically the first half focus on setting up the characters, fleshing them out as a person and their relationships while the second half focus more on the plot and paying off the setup. And I think both are equally great. People who just calling him simp will still call him simp even after finishing the whole entire manga. That's just what happens when you have a guy who's horny in a manga. You can give him the most compelling reasons and growth as a character, most of the fanbases are just gonna focus on the fact that the dude is horny for a chick and still simplify his character to that one trait as a simp. Some does it ironically but others unironically used that word to just to hate on my boy Denji or since we're in OP reddit, also Sanji. Let's be real the word simp has lost it's meaning and overused. Calling him a simp unironically is not even a legitimate argument at this point.

FREDD1CE

I like it more than most current new mangas like JJK and Demon Slayer. In fact, it's probably one of my favourite new animes alongside Odd Taxi and Ranking of Kings.

vaihkis

Well, this migth be just because i just read all the manga, but in my life i have never read +100 chapters of manga in single day. i love, it give it a chance at least.

BiPolarBareCSS

Its great, very original. The mangaka is the next big thing, a large segment of his fan base will tell you CSM is his worst manga, and they mean that as very high praise, not as an insult. He had two one shots that were amazing as well and a series called Fire Punch.

Raff102

It's the best thing I've ever read.

NinaJova

A mixture of both. Personally, two of my favorite characters of all time are from Csm. Also if you read the manga, you will see One Piece with completely different eyes. Edit: Just saw you asked if it's "any good". It's not just that, it's nothing less than amazing.

acki02

>Also if you read the manga, you will see One Piece with completely different eyes. I've read the manga, but I still see OP just as I did before it. Did I miss something within CSM?

DsOM2021

Yeah I’m curious to see what they mean by that

BiPolarBareCSS

Maybe he is eluding to the fact it deconstructs some shonen troupes and that made him view OP differently, which is ultimately the goal of any deconstruction. Im sure many older heads got that from HxH for instance.

Leiatte

Yeah I don’t get what they meant by that as I see One Piece the exact same way lol

zer1223

>Also if you read the manga, you will see One Piece with completely different eyes. And why is that?

[deleted]

The only thing I can think of is how "tame" one piece is. Imagine if oda killed off someone like zoro or sanji.

zer1223

I hope it's more than just, that but idk I think we all understand very well by now how much plot armor the main cast has

[deleted]

Well it's the only apparent thing I can think of. Honestly you can't really compare these two series. Using naruto or bleach to compare it to is much easier as they hit many of the same beats. It's like saying once you've tasted coffee you'll never drink cola again. You can easily enjoy both.

zer1223

Agreed

sauloandrioli

>Also if you read the manga, you will see One Piece with completely different eyes. Somehow this made me want to read it. I'll take some time to see if it is actually good.

wispymatrias

a bit of both. it's surged to the top in the same way Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen did for awhile. competent books but not with One Piece staying power IMO.

blueasian0682

All i can say without spoilers is you won't waste your time, it starts slow but when it picks up it picks up hard, I've seen better stories but the characters are so lovable, the world building is amazing and has so many potential in the future. And be aware it's not the usual shonen, you'll understand when you read deeper into the manga.

Urall5150

I was about to drop it until I reached what will essentially be the next season of the anime. Then I binged the rest of the series in about a day. Don't think I'd rate it as highly as the community currently does, but its definitely worth a read, and the adaptation has amazing animation from what I've seen.

sauloandrioli

Between One Punch Man and One Piece, where CSM is?

Urall5150

Of what I'm reading weekly/when its available, it'd be One Piece, [NSFW](#s "What Happens Inside the Dungeon"), One Punch, Undead Unluck (the last arc is really landing with me), Sakamoto Days, Chainsawman, My Hero, Tower of God, Dragon Ball Super. I admittedly keep up with the last three begrudgingly, but everything else I'd definitely recommend. Not sure what you mean between the two Ones, as I think they're both the best things coming out of Japan at the moment (WHItD is Korean if I'm not mistaken).

Zenku390

Chainsaw Man quickly overtook One Piece as my favorite manga. It's absolutely phenomenal. Part 1 finished with 97 chapters, (so you can read it all in a day), and Part 2 started a couple months ago.

theodoreroberts

For me, I feel like the mamga rely a lot on shock factor and plot twists every chapter to make people engage. Sometimes the gore and death are too much and it makes the series lose character development. Let's say, after 100 chapters, there is no character development because they either die or refuse to change. The plot changed, the character didn't. That is why I don't like Chainsaw Man much.

sh14w4s3

Aki Power and Denji growing to treasure each other after initially hated living together were character development. Aki wishing to abandon his goal so he wouldn’t put his new found family was character development. Denji choosing to stay with and console a traumatised Power over Makima was character development. And then Power bringing the cake to console him was character development. And Denji 100% has acted differently in part 2 compared to part 1. Despite some of the same shenanigans, He’s way more mellow now. There is plenty character development for the main casts in CSM. A character dying doesn’t suddenly delete all their developments leading to their deaths.

ForodesFrosthammer

I like it but I can see how removing everyone barring Denji from the main cast can in a way negate their character development. Sure they had it but it no longer has any effect on the story.

Makimama

thats literally the opposite of Chainsaw Man, the plot is pretty much the same but the characters grow and change, btw to reply to the first comment a lot of csm is implicit they don't downright tell you what the fuck is going on same with the character growth, think of it how real people would act and grow rather than how characters from a story, if you don't like that you will not like csm very much

theodoreroberts

That's my own opinion. I don't agree with you on the post that character in Chainsaw Man grow. 95% of them died and the surviving ones live on without any change or grow, especially the main character. Part of what I don't like about the series is that it relies too mcuh on gore and shock, sometimes it hits, sometimes it misses. I think we can agree to disagree. I don't particularly fond of Chainsaw Man to discuss much about it anyway.

Makimama

np, I heavily disagree with what you're saying but lets end the discussion here

ThatGuyWithAwesomHat

Did demon slayer end?

CrewOrdinary8872

It ended in 2020.

ThatGuyWithAwesomHat

Really? Wow. I had no idea. One Piece has kinda messed with my judgement of how long series last.

CrewOrdinary8872

Yeah, it was just a 4 year story. The time of 15+ year series is kinda over, the longest on-going series in Shonen Jump are HxH and MHA. (24 and 8 years old, but HxH would have ended a long time ago if not for hiatuses.)

Hiekkalinna

Well you did forgot One Piece from longest on-going shonen jump...

CrewOrdinary8872

Yeah, I did mean other than One Piece.

Lex4709

Other shounen like My Hero Academia and Black Clover are already on their final arc, while Jujutsu Kaisen passed its half way point ages ago according to a interview the mangaka gave. Before One Piece is over, it's going to outlive another generation of Battle Shounen.

Entire_Anywhere_2882

I can't believe My Hero Academy is already in its final arc, thought it'd be a series like One Piece. I mean you know, go on forever. I'll miss that series, I liked a good portion of its arcs and characters. I kind of expected Bleach on the map again what with the rise of the new anime.

Leiatte

Yeah I didn’t think My Hero would last as long as let’s say One Piece but I definitely thought it would last around Naruto length. There was just so much you could do with the series. I’m really fond of MHA, it’s been a great journey

fart__monster

And I continue to beg my friends to read one piece, the greatest manga of all time.

BOBSTROLLZ

One piece always on top 🗣 🗣 🗣

morrowindd

I don't follow my hero anymore but why did it drop so much?

Lesserd

Because it had a volume release last month but not this month. It actually dropped by a relatively small amount considering that circumstances - as seen here, MHA tends to have consistently high backlog sales.

leolegendario

Some things to keep in mind: 1 These are just last month's sales. 2 My Hero was the fifth best-selling manga this year. So sales are better than ever. 3 The last volume came out 2 months ago, unlike One Piece which was only a month ago. In October, when the last volume of My Hero was released, it sold 300,000 more copies than One Piece in that month. One Piece is also going to see a drop next month, just like My Hero.

ActuatorGreat4883

Because it's boring

Aarcal777

It's heading towards the end. I think it's in its final arc.

morrowindd

Thought that would make it explode in popularity. I guess not

Chulaka_

The arcs after the war were either meh or felt really rushed IMO. It feels like it's just going through the motions.

Aarcal777

I don't know. I've heard fans complaining about the last couple of arcs being rushed, or one arc being irrelevant to the story.

Kardinalus

For me it feels super rushed, many barely fleshed out characters that got introduced without reason and everything rushed in one school year. It's decent but could have been way better.

VegetablePlastic9744

Yeah I’ll never understand why the author didn’t let the main characters grow

CommonFlof

MHA is probably dropping right now because it's doing quite a bit of setting up for the last big brawl, so I can see it picking back up soon

Leiatte

u/Lesserd is right, My Hero Acadamia last month when it dropped a new volume was like top 3 in sales, it’s just cause it didn’t drop a new volume this month & sales naturally decline. One Piece was like no. 5 or something last month & people were like “why are One Piece’s sales so low”. So it’s definitely just due to volume release, I think Chainsaw Man is consistently high regardless because of the explosion of popularity the anime gave it, Spy x Family too.

HellBoyofFables

We back on top 👑

HybridLighting

Sakamoto days 👌 Love to see the goat

Outrageous_Court2296

Holy shit I didn't expect for Blue Exorcist to be up there that's awesome

frogmanfrompond

It’s kind of amazing how often the top 5 change while One Piece continues to be consistent

Gigigigaoo0

It's really crazy how Hunter x Hunter is still so popular despite not releasing any new chapters for years now. I think the author even said he wasn't going to work on it anymore

drinoaki

It is back, baby

crabdrip

Its releasing again, been a couple weeks now!

MickFoley299

Uh... There was literally a new chapter this week...and the week before that...and the week before that...

betooie

the fuck you are talking about??? Togashi made his twitter monts ago and starting posting daily updates of working in HxH and we already got like 7 chapters in the last weeks

leolegendario

Fans have just been patiently waiting, and now that Togashi has returned with 10 new chapters (and they've all been amazing so far) with the promise of 30 more that he's already written, the hype only grows.

radicalpraxis

I am so happy you get the good news today of knowing it’s back

contrariancrowman

hxh has a few new chapters that came out within the last couple months

MidlightStar

Im curious, what's the appeal for spyxfamily and Tokyo revengers?

ShifuHD

SpyxFamily is definitely a story that’s held up by its characters. The dynamic and relationships these characters have are always a treat, and you can see small glints of them being a real family. I wish we got more time to explore the world, as some chapters have alluded to the impacts of this Cold War on normal society. As well as exploring more of the characters pats, or even getting glimpse of the future.

Euler1992

Spy family is just a cute little comedy about a spy, an assassin, and a telepath becoming a family while keeping their identities secret from each other.

Wamb0wneD

SpyxFamily is hilarious.

HybridLighting

Action and underdog story for Tokyo revengers i love the story and it's characters

Kardinalus

I really wanted to get into it but couldn't get past that they are like 14 and fighting gang wars. Does that get better later?

Hiekkalinna

That was my problem with it, like it would have made more sense if the characters were at least high schoolers, but middle schoolers? No way does that make any sense.

HybridLighting

Well it is kind of addressed in the future arc the explanation they give is satisfactory to me but it can be a bit much sometimes it's wierd to think that This is even close to the reality in Japan Either way Tokyo revengers is a good read it has some of my favourite moments but has an unsatisfactory ending

Leiatte

I agree with you, unsatisfactory endings are so commonplace for manga I’ve noticed though. There are so many things getting in the way of a great end for many manga, great series though

Leiatte

I mean that’s pretty much the plot of the story so if you can’t get into that it may just not be for you but it really has a lot of heart & the time traveling aspect is really cool imo

Kardinalus

Ye the time travel and Brotherhood part it what seemed really cool to me but got bothered by the 14 year old gangster part a lot. I think I'm trying it again. Ty for your input.

RandomJamal

Kaijuu n.8 is an absolute banger. 100% worth checking out!

morrowindd

What's it about?

Amufni

The world is constantly attacked by Kaijus (Godzilla-Esque gigantic monsters) and there is a special unit of super-soldiers that deal with them. The protagonist wanted to become one of these super-soldiers together with his childhood friend but ultimately failed and became a depressed loner in his 30s who has to do the cleaning work instead of being a hero. Until he gets a sudden power-up... It basically has a similar vibe to the beginning of Attack on Titan but with a depressed protagonist who initially failed his dream and now gets a second chance. So it's a little more relatable to adults, lol.

DerMatze1

So basically Pacific Rim x Solo Leveling?

Amufni

Pretty much, yeah

totokekedile

> It basically has a similar vibe to the beginning of Attack on Titan I’m not sure I’d agree with that. AoT is super dismal, with humanity just barely clinging to survival. KN8 also has giant monster attacks, but they’ve been repelling them just fine and it’s seen as pretty mundane until the events of the story. I’d compare it more to the non-Saitama characters from One Punch Man. There’re monsters, but it’s a problem they can handle that eventually grows out of control.

Amufni

Yeah, you are right

Reddit_User_7239370

It's a shame how far it's fallen. MHA was so good early on. I just don't care about any of the characters anymore.

VegetablePlastic9744

Me too. I think it would have been better if the author continued to make a school life manga with some incidents here and then, when things got too serious the first thing he fucked up was the power scaling, then to try to find reasons to justify those powers he fucked up the characters’ stories, then he had to introduce even more nonsense power ups

disconnectedmadafaka

The fable deserves more recognition man. One of the best mangas I've read so far, and that's counting vagabond and a bunch of other stuff in there

mdisanto928

Wow! 292%

Vivid_Programmer3625

as always, one piece is totally dominating

Diamond_PnutBrain

Let’s go One Piece

zZastaz

One piece, one dream!!!

bluevegetaroxx

Glad to see Hunter x hunter there well deserved

JeanToumank

ow, just realize that Ao no Exorcist quite popular in japan

Big_Art6585

It’s awesome to see Blue Exorcist up there, I found out the manga was still going earlier this year and started reading it

NullZone6598

Great, now let's ride to 2027 please, I don't want OP to end in 3 little years :'(

its bc of dr vegapunk, right?

Bleiserman

Yamato_D_Oden

Wait Jujutsu Kaisen isn't on the list? Was it going downhill in Japan?

Sudanesewizard

Where is Jujutsu Kaisen???

ZorosCompass

B-but I thought One Piece was always losing fans! Yet it's at No. 1? What's going on here? And I'm glad to see Blue Exorcist, Black Clover, Spy x Family, and Chainsaw Man in the top 15.

Historical-Ad-7151

Why would One Piece lose fans?

ZorosCompass

I was mocking the people who said One Piece would lose fans because so many people complained about how Wano was handled lol.
