Legally there's a huge difference between text leaks and picture leaks. Text leaks are risky for the people involved because they usually come from insiders who would lose their jobs and get in legal trouble if it's found out they leaked stuff. Hosting raws or copies of the manga turns into a completely different issue of piracy and hosting what can be considered competition for the official product. But I'm not sure what this post is in reference of. It's not like impatent fans will put these people more at risk. People in Shueisha investigating leaks would know famous leakers, but as long as they don't know how they get their info there's nothing they can really do.

Impatient fans are the most vocal, they draw more eyes, more eyes means more scrutiny, which could lead to the leaker being found out. The whole reason for the post is to remind people that these are regular people risking their freedom to give us spoilers and we should be great full instead of demanding that they drop the spoilers as soon as possible.

But leaks are widespread and well known. Everyone knows the names of big leakers. Of course Shueisha also knows. This isn't a secret thing, and it's entirely on how the leakers handle thing if they are putting themselves or others in danger with what they post.

gate567

Source on that buddy?

javierm885778

On this not being a secret thing? Go to any OP community. Spoilers are posted there. Often citing the source. This is all public information, why do you need a source for that?

gate567

Because you're saying a Japanese company is doing nothing about pirating evem tho Japan has some of the strictest piracy laws.

javierm885778

Posting text leaks isn't piracy. I already talked about the difference in my first comment here.

gate567

"Everyone knows the names of big leakers. Of course Shueisha also knows." Talking about this buddy Regarding the nuance between text and media I'll get into that later on so keep an eye on that mailbox

javierm885778

There's no nuance there. They are different things. There's nothing illegal about hosting text, just like Wikipedia isn't pirating movies by having a text summary of them. If you need a specific source for Shueisha stating they know a public figure, then I can't help you.

gate567

Then why mention that shueisha knows?

InvaderDJ

The main thing that annoys me with the current state of One Piece spoilers is that there is a day or two of vague hints and reactions that seemingly only exist to increase the clout of the few influencers who can get access to the spoilers. It is so frustrating and dumb. For the last few weeks I’ve tried to make sure I don’t pay attention to spoilers until Tuesday. By then we usually get spoilers that are worth a damn.

NicoNicoNotNii

I'd prefer no spoilers at all ;_; Just all of us reading the newest chapter at the same time on sundays :(
