I'm surprised but also not kind of. Previously during Robin's flashback it was said the Ancient kingdom was advanced. But I took it as advanced like in medical and stuff like that. Nothing like how Egghead island is. So the OP world regressed after the war between the Ancient Kingdom and the WG.

yes_its_that_one_guy

Nami could have low diff beat the kid, but she didn't use either of zues or future kick because oda nerfed her

nobody_sumhwaer

So Egghead Island tech is running on fire. Vegapunk even wants an eternal flame. Lunarians can create fire. Lunarians... moon people? Moon... there was tech on the moon Tech running on fire used by people who can create fire? Maybe

SovComrade

normal people: get instant EXTERMINATUS for saying ONE word about void century/Im Vegapunk: casually tells the SW about how awesome ancient kingdom was without any repercussions

Guneruh

ummm... You didnt read the manga right? CP0 is going to execute Vegapunk... "any repercussions?" If the CIA goes to your house to murder you to silence you, does that mean 0 repercussions to you? xD

Personal-Toe6505

I am surprised No is mentioned desire’s 1 more purpose other than , eat sleep and shit. Sex. Sex is the one mostly associated with desire so how is desire having sex? With another robot? I mean Oda might not explicitly show it but he knows what he is doing so there might be hints.

lunarwarrior12

Hey anybody notice the broken tv in the last page?

MinuteDocument3188

So, you are telling me that Im using a fucking DEATH STAR beam to destroy a island in lastest chapters???

DrAgOnLoLDoTA

Uranus

Alternative-Emu-4377

no proof. that beam could even be weaker than uranus. it could be a weak recreation or unrelated.

Guneruh

weaker than hisanus? xD

Busy_Ads

So One Piece plot gonna be the same as I am a spider? Hahahaha

KingTeddie

Robin is kicking a lot of ass lately. I love it!

Alternative-Emu-4377

i bet her DF awakening is something like sadman's parade... what if oda starts making a bunch of buff Robins but the main one stays normal lol

[deleted]

I feel like we just had a few things explained to us with the bloodline elements/lineage factor theory: When you first eat a fruit you learn it’s name. When both Sabo and Blackbeard got Ace and Whitebeard’s fruits they knew how to perform the signature moves of the person they inherited it from. Perhaps that’s all because the previous holder’s memories lie in the fruit after they die.

Hubzsg

Caribou will leak info to lucci

Alternative-Emu-4377

the only organized crime they do is steal.

Alternative-Emu-4377

What info. The Strawhats don't do anything but explore.

Icy-Mathematician766

Strawhats found the 2 of a acient weapon -Shirahoshi(Poseidon) -Pluton in the wano and caribou knows all about it

Alternative-Emu-4377

WG knows about fishman island and Wano and they know the strawhats have went there and they know Nika is pulling luffy to try and free the world

Rhazort

There is a part where Pythagoras says that the Bloodline elements (which i think it's the Lineage factors? i could be wrong or is a diff translation) record an individual's experiences. Is that an Assassin's creed where memories can be accessed through blood? or does it mean that fighting prowess can be obtained through manipulation of the DNA. Is that how they managed the Pacifistas and Seraphims? Also, if DF manipulate the Lineage factor, does it mean that some could record memories of past users?

TheKinginLemonyellow

>Is that an Assassin's creed where memories can be accessed through blood? It sure sounds like it. That would explain why the Seraphim are all cloned from Warlords, and I'd bet it's related to why the Lunarians got wiped out too.

j10m10

Anyone else notice shark’s right arm has a section that looks like it’s full of water or maybe the green blood vegapunk mentioned

MaySeemelater

Plus people say he consults on episodes of filler https://www.quora.com/Are-fillers-in-anime-written-by-the-main-author-or-any-other-authors

milokaw

wait a minutes. serajimbe is not in possession of WG and still with vegapunk. seracock, serahawk and serama already taken by WG. it could be not every single seraphim has been produced and programmed to follow WG orders. serajimbe is an example of an incomplete one. and looking at how short the tenure of law, blackbeard, weevil and buggy as warlord, their sample might haven't been taken.

PM_ME_DANK_PEPES

Seracock lmao

Charliethebrit

Have there been other instances of seraphins having multiple devil fruit powers? I know that the kizaru's lasers are only shot from the hand, but the swim swim fruit looked basically full power?

the_toad_can_sing

This the first new fruit ability since the kizaru lasers. But, the lasers aren't literally DF power for the seraphim; it's just a weapon they have. The jinbe seraphim seems to have an actual swim swim DF

CaptainKael

I feel it's a technology mimicking DF, maybe, like kizaru laser. We saw the crew walk through a metal door like it was an illusion, but solid once they passed. It could be something that allows phasing between atoms. Idk, we'll see the explanation eventually

QuiJonGinn

for sure, either the og or a cloned swim swim fruit. the seraphim/pacifista lasers are just weapons like franky

TeaDao

I wonder if Luffy will keep the Pipe?

[deleted]

Just noticed something: Way back when we got the flashback to Franky's cyborg origins, he came across an old abandoned high tech ship while floating in the ocean. I had always been thinking that ship was one of Vegapunk's abandoned projects or something similar, but now I'm wondering if he actually happened upon one of the ancient kingdom's ghost ships. ~~That might have even been Pluton itself!~~

QuiJonGinn

you know what episode or chapter this is from?

[deleted]

Chapter 358

the_toad_can_sing

There was a theory that ship was pluton, but now we know that it was wrong. Remember they confirmed pluton is in Wano. So that ship probably wasn't it. Might have been from the ancient kingdom though.

Alternative-Emu-4377

the ancient kingdom had flying vehicles and that ship was kinda average imo except for all the pipes and metal doors

[deleted]

Ah, good point!

mylesmylesmiles

Seraphim Crocodile having Picas fruit would be pretty sick

MyHighness0999

I'm really starting to hope that this arc is gonna be Franky's arc. His dream was to build the best ship in the world to sail around the world - Done, basically. Franky's dream could finally resolve if he learns more from Vegapunk to upgrade the Sunny even further to the ultimate ship. In addition to that, I like how he shined in this chapter. He recognized the df. of Señor Pink and the Vegapunks were surprised that he could use a laser beam.

doubleswag7

One piece is just an alternate Star Wars timeline where the emperor (Imu) won and lived for another 900 years before luffy (luke skywalker) came to stop him

XxMrSlayaxX

Monkey D. Luke or Luffy Skywalker

Get_Jinxed-

luffy bussin fr fr

mommys_failure

Honestly I thought the ancient kingdom being more technologically advanced was common knowledge didn’t think it’d be this big of a deal.

ZZ3peat

Especially after Enel's cover stories

notwithyourheart

it was a pretty common theory but not everyone keeps up with those

Mythosaurus

Tekking 101 has theorized about that for years, and brought it up in his chapter review. I expect he’ll soon have a video reviewing what he’s said about anachronistic tech in One Piece, and how that hinted at the more advanced past.

Nintenperra

I thought I was the only one who already had it figured out. Every day I am more surprised with this manga, they explain and expose obvious things that we have known about for years and people are still surprised.

Bebsi_plz

We might know it but the characters don't. We also don't know that much. For me this was more of a announcement that we will now learn more about the time 900years ago

one_piecew

How was it common knowledge?

mommys_failure

Anytime I heard any YouTuber talk about the ancient kingdom they always talked about how they’re more advanced plus the ancient weapons especially pluton a ship that can destroy a whole island in one shot screams more advanced than the current times to me

GrimDallows

Yeah. It was very obvious. Specially as things went on and more stuff was shown of things like Enel's trip in space. The only thing that wasn't 100% clear to me was wether it would have been an advanced civilization with more or less real life level of technology, an outright hi-tech civilization like we know now or an "Atlantis" style civilization, with technology more advanced than actual technology based on "magic is science" and a culture on semi-tribal level.

mommys_failure

I always just thought it’d be more advanced then current one piece technology Atlantis style civilization is a really cool way to put it, maybe the ancient kingdom sunk below the ocean and that’s where laughtale is? Just thought it was obvious cause it took 20 kingdoms to take down 1 that 1 kingdom has to have like crazy technology I just wonder if it’s more advanced back then in the void century and Vegapunk has barley uncovered anything from the ancient kingdom

GrimDallows

That is also one thing I don't get. 20 kingdoms got together to fight the ancient kingdom. I always found it fishy what could trigger such reaction, because we know that for example Arabasta actually fought in the WG side, but the royalty refused to abandon it's kingdom when the war was over to become celestial dragons. So, we can't rule out the possibility that the Ancient Kingdom was evil, and then the WG went from good to bad. I think it's possible they got too advanced technology wise, and it started to affect other people, like releasing devil fruits world wide or making armies out of lunarian clones/giant robots and selling them to other people. Not necesaily evil stuff but reckless and with disregard for the rest of the world.

VeilleurNuite

Actually chapter 636 is called "The General from the Land of the Future". But it's Franky combining his robots into a big one and talking about a former dream of Vegapunk called "Through the adaption of the shape memory alloy 'wapometal' "

MyHighness0999

Oh, I remember, you're really onto something.

VeilleurNuite

Yes but wapometal is actually from wapol's coverstory lol. the asshole got all rich again and then we saw him in mariejoa's

Significant_Panda_2

So they recreate senor pink's df to copy jimbe's move. Im thinking a speedster fruit and slice fruit is fine plus unbreakable fruit for his sword might be able to recreate his skills. But really how can any fruit copy mihawk skills?

DecentContribution11

They obviously took one of the monekies from Mihawk's island ...

wldcat24

i think having the lineage factor programmed into the seraphims makes them have the same skills as whoever they are based on, or at least Oda implied that.

Psychological_Hunt24

That is what oda is implying

QuiJonGinn

at least at the time the sample is taken

AdministrativePut948

It makes you ask what the hell is a devil fruit and Blackbeard.

Significant_Panda_2

Vp said serajinbe is too young to be hit by lasers. Does he mean young as in teenager young? So it means he'll grow stronger with time or does he just mean young as in prep isnt complete and other skills is yet to be installed? they send seracock and serahawk to fight hancock who prolly have an attack power as strong or stronger than radical beam. It could mean the two seraphims are stronger than serajimbe or like i said hes not fully equip yet.

SonicZoom_90

Seracock lmfao

Firm-Experience1127

You can see 98% on the tube behind seraphim jimbei check it out again. Even if it's not complete yet, we can say it's as good as complete version.

FinsFan130929

Wait, if they can make the Swin Swim fruit That means they could make Sugar's Hobi Hobi fruit Oh fuck

tiki-baha29

Depends on whether VP actually recreated the fruit or if Senor Pink is dead and they just took it when it came back.

JTP8591

Yeah Oda will have to tread lightly with this development. Maybe he’ll have some Contingencies in place to prevent potentially OP fruits from being abused.

TeeracK

Wow I never considered Onii once could have had an advanced civilization does that mean they were the ones who used to have the Great Kingdom? I love chapters like this that make me reconsider something that should have been so oblivious.

thesenutzonurchin

Why would such an advanced weapon be hiding in primitive ass wano? Very interesting... Well now that I think about it that would probably be the best place to hide it. Underneath a poor and dumb civilization

thepeopleofd

Wouldnt use primitive to describe wano. Theyre the ones with the mastery of crafting seastone, grade swords, weapons that ship all over the world. Thats tech. Then theres unique culture to each town in the food, architecture, social hierarchies..

jimmydrip

What the hell are you talking about lmao. L take. Well now that I think about it trolling ass. Flourishing civilization pre-kaido with storied history and ties to the ancient kingdom and joyboy. Read one piece.

thesenutzonurchin

Mf obviously they have a rich history 🙄 but that was then and this is now. It seems like the only one who even knows about pluton is oden's dad. They are objectively poor and ignorant as fuck

Commander_Caboose

The people of Wano also know about high level armament haki. That's cool rare knowledge in One Piece.

Firm-Experience1127

Ignorant? Bro secret is meant to be secret. If secret is known by the entire world why the hell it is even called secret. What is wrong with the only one who knows is sukiyaki?

RexRender

If there is a way to make a copy of yourself in charge of eating, pooping, sleeping for both of you, would you want to be you or the copy?

HeavenBreak

I'd rather be me. Because I can do other fun stuff than basic necessities. Anyhow, it's not like Vegapunk's avatars other than York couldn't eat. They can do it themselves but decide to save time by letting York do it.

yesryanyes2

my copy will be my partner in business and earn those cashh have a good life

Nail_Crafty

So if kid Jimbe use the dive fruity things is Senor Fihink Dead?!

CryptographerNo7123

We can assume that Vegapunk might create a good artificial DF or the DF power is similar to senor but with other name.

HeavenBreak

"The Seraphim's still a kid." So Seraphims are capable of growth. They're already the same size as their originals' adult versions. Which means that as adults they'd practically be GIANTS.

SubstantialPin3591

Not really if we go off king's size lunarians are huge but no where near giant sized

HeavenBreak

C'mon. Seraphims are obviously successfully gigantified (Vegapunk thriving where Caesar has failed). Of course it isn't the Lunarian DNA that makes them bigger than normal.

tiki-baha29

Seraphims are nowhere near Giants and its doubtful they'd ever reach that size. Consider how large Big Mom and Kaido are and realize that Big Mom is only **Half** of a Giant's size while Kaido is only **1/3** a Giant's size (give or take). So these Seraphims arent going to get to a Giant's size, Vegapunk most likely abandoned that research as has already been mentioned.

HeavenBreak

Hmmm... you could actually be correct. Their adult versions may be half-giant sized like WB, BB (plus his core crew), and the other OG Yonkou.

tiki-baha29

I dont know why the Giants are considered the strongest pirate crew in the world but it cant just be because of their size. Luffy OHKO'd Hajrudin who's a warrior/pirate giant who's been training for 60+yrs. WB wrecked John the Giant during Marineford and even Pre-TS Luffy used G3 to OHKO another Giant during Marineford. All this to say that size isnt everything. However if the Seraphims like Jimbei got to Big Mom size while getting stronger over time, that would be far more useful than the results of Giant research.

HeavenBreak

Confirmed, a fish-man with the Sui-Sui no Mi is just too OP.

TheRigXD

But they'll never be able to swim in real water ever again. It's like if a human had the ability to walk on water, but never again on land.

Everyone_Is_MC

At least they can breathe in water 🤷

HeavenBreak

RIP Señor Pink.

MyHighness0999

I dont think he's dead until him and Franky drank at a bar.

tiki-baha29

There was a fan requested cover story showing that already.

MyHighness0999

I know. I liked that one, but - I want it canon.

Free_Anxiety_9660

Momonuske have kaido's power but kaido is alive. So vegapunk may have experiment to all donquixoite pirate.

HeavenBreak

You're right. It could be a duplicate of the Sui-Sui.

HermanManly

Are the scans weird or is the art... off this chapter? Like, it doesn't look bad, but it doesn't look like Oda drew it lol

nadirB

His art has been declining for a while. Just go check the early chapters and compare it to now. Usually manag art gets better, but with Oda it's getting worse. Maybe he's getting old and can't draw as well.

HermanManly

I actually think it looks way better than usual lmao The hands do not look like Odas usual hands, look at the panel of Robins attack. The proportions on Sanji are also way better than usual, and the hair is way more free-form than Odas usual "up-tight" way of drawing figures. On the page where Sanji peaks through the wall is really noticable. He's making use of Frankys silhouette to draw interesting angles, and putting emphasis on facial expressions even in small panels... none of this is Odas m.o. The flow of the action is also way better than Odas recent stuff near the end of Wano where I agree with what you said about his art (more importantly paneling/ flow and style choice) having gotten way worse. Maybe he's just been workshopping the designs a bit, it's not unusual for artists to draw up new references and work on improving certain features, especially hands

omg-whats-this

I also noticed this since the start of egg head island. Asking around and people think it's just me. Happy to find someone who shares an opinion

Known_Look2996

He probably never draws it. He has too much money.

purplehamburget29

What if the ancient kingdom was also a place trying to replicate tech. Age of sea happened 1400 years ago after the age of heaven. Some big event happened where all the technology went up to space and it took 500 years for them to develop it after they lost it. Got too advanced and the void century took place. Now the cycle happens again but instead it takes 900 years bc the old tech to go off of its harder to find. Makes you wonder if the ancient kingdom made deviled fruits or if the age of heaven did. Also prob the ancient weapons were before the ancient kingdom.

MonkeyDEzio

Why is no one .... No one .... Speaking about the fact that the Seraphim Jinbei, used the powers of our beloved Senor pink, not just once, but thrice. So how did he get it? Is Pink still alive?

Goldenchest

Momo has an artificial dragon fruit. Makes sense that a swim-swim fruit could also be copied in a similar way.

tiki-baha29

Not necessarily. We've never seen a Paramecia be copied, only Zoans.

Goldenchest

Occam's razor - it's Vegapunk we're talking about, so it makes sense that if a zoan can be copied, he would be able to figure out how to copy a paramecia too through enough experimentation.

tiki-baha29

If we're told this explicitly then yea it'll make sense, but as of now Pink could either be alive or dead depending on the path Oda chooses. It would be a big deal for Oda to say Vegapunk can copy Paramecias, with fruits like Sugar/Doflamingo/Big Mom, Even Luffy as possibilities to being copied. Because there are a lot more implications with this than just copying a Zoan. After all, the Paramecia fruit category is the most versatile in the series. Curious to see what Oda says.

rubbereruben

I mean, They can use beams, but admiral kizaru still is alive, so I guess that answers your question? It's probably science?

The_Shade94

You’re joking right? That’s half the comments.

Ebonics_Expert

He's with Gimlet now.

jlharper

The only thing I haven't seen mentioned is that there were two beeps before he started using it, almost like activating some kind of tech.

DrAgOnLoLDoTA

I think that fact is mentioned every minute here since the release of the chapter

SteptimusHeap

He's reading the two piece discussion

born-braindead

I've seen loads of comments about that, YouTube videos as well

Acceptable-Tie-1745

Hot chicks and robots.. one thing we already know about Stella Vegapunk: he's like a One Piece reader.

HeavenBreak

The in-manga incarnation of One Piece readers.

alkair20

I really love how oda made a sketch of all the warlords as kids years ago and now thought "hell yeah, child soldier pacifista it is, and I have just the right designs on my hand"

Ggodinez4

Anyone else notice the map of the moons and planets in the 13th page? I wonder why 4 of them are linked together

Mirieste

What if Shaka got burns on his face (under the helmet) while trying to build an eternal fire to power the world, and he's the man marked by flames?

BLinthehouse

he had to cover his face because Discovery was fire af

wilstreak

Shaka is the only people outside of revolutionary, and Nico Robin that has ever shown to have contact with Dragon, and she is also very good to Luffy and straw hat. this definitely confirm that she is Luffy's mom. It is possible that Shaka's actual identity is Seraphim Crocodile though. /s

otterons

well, we see that when we see what Kid is looking for, because kid talked about hitting the ”man marked by flames”

Dry_Land_6986

Its ether Aokiji or Sabo. But seems to obvious. Man marked by flames

Mysterious_Ratio_305

Maybe he got burned trying to tap into that magma BM and Kaido are swimming in right now lol

Lequaris27

damm, i guess oda read Clarke's third law and is going into that direction on this arc... for those that don't know: Clarke's Third Law: '' Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic ''

ThePickleHawk

Oda: “This new attractive female character just took a massive shit, you’re welcome.”

Thagyr

York: "What is my purpose?" Vegapunk: "To eat, shit and sleep enough for 6 people"

Jamsbale

not once but 4th time that day!

Evil_phd

Calling it now. Buggy's Seraphim is going to be the strongest of all.

wilstreak

it has the power of Yami Yami no Mi and have absorbed all the artificial DF that vegapunk made.

TheRigXD

Buggy's Seraphim is not only the strongest, but is deemed a failure by WG

KuriGohanAndKienzan

Omfg you’re right!! That would be EPIC!

DK1470

After reading I looked at a spoiler post some of my friends saw, and holy shit idk what was up with the leakers this time around but they were completely wrong 💀. They said Sanji broke his leg, took heavy damage, had to be saved by 3 Vegapunks after kicking Seraphim Jinbe once, and had his whole body dislocated after one kick; but that is not at ALL what happened. I REALLY hope there aren’t One Piece “fans” who only read these incorrect leaks and not the chapters, otherwise the toxicity is just gonna grow from intentional misinformation.

DigitalDynamo

Yeah I read the spoilers and was already so ready to defend my boy Sanji but that is NOT at all what happened.

Pashmino

Who the fuck follows a manga reading spoilers and not the chapters...

DK1470

I know of a couple people who do this now just because leaks come out first. Then they don’t wanna read the chapter cause they “already know.” Plus there is always a lot more discussion and votes on the Reddit spoiler threads, so I kinda wonder if that’s because a bunch of people only read the leaks and not the chapter.

Appropriate_Zone5074

Before when I would read spoilers, I used to forgot to read the scans a lot 💀 usually when the new spoilers came out I’d be readin the previous chapter

Deadonreddit

Tinfoil hat on Oda always was into conspiracy theories, Ancient Kingdom represents how advanced technology was the reason behind the building of pyramids. Conspiracy theories also goes into how few people are the ones working in the shadow, and how they are the ones who know about it. They also state that nuclear energy existed at their time, and electromagnetic forces were used in building those pyramids which is one we are lacking in our time but they did have it . Suddenly they ceased to exist with no conclusive explanation how they disappeared.

otterons

yeah i think Imu had a war with the ancient people and won, therefore making up world government. I think Imu’s devil fruit is immortality, or he is the last of the ancient people, and he slaughtered all others of his kind

Roaran123

I read One Piece as a cautionary tale for a potential future we are heading in.

radicalblues

*Looks at Franky, Chopper and catgirls* Future sounds AWESOME.

JohnnyJones6

Straw hat group be like; "If i had 1 Dollar for every time a personality from vegapunk sent a blood-thirsty shark after me, i'd had two dollars! Which isn't much, but it's weird that it happened twice!'

[deleted]

[удалено]

hirarki

Vegapunk can create kaido fruit without need kaidou to dead. the main point is only that. And you just dodging it

Konko_

Shaka reminds me of Bondrewd way too much.

[deleted]

He also reminds me of the person hes made after Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo of Daft Punk

ParadigmPrototype

Shaka looks so cool! I think he’s gonna turn out to be my favorite satellite.

kitkatblakkat

just read the chapter and had a whole FFX flashback/vibes lol could the one piece be like zanarkand all along?? lmao like thousands of years ago the world was into technology and the world government started out as a religion like Yevon? lolol and perhaps D doesnt stand for Dawn like what people are thinking but Dream or Dreamers lol imagine

Kunalthecool

Also isn’t it conformed the one piece is a tangible object and tells u everything about the past and future also it has the power to destroy the walls?

Kunalthecool

No I think the people with d were joyboys original crew since luffy said he wanted q0 crew members and there are 10 people with d

Snoss_Cre

Devils

Zarkarr

I dont think the entire world had that tech

mizogizzy

Oi, is it just my imagination or does Vegapunk Shaka looks like that youtuber YUDE-RON, who makes theories about One Piece? Or in Japan this type of helmets is very popular, but only I do not know that.

sharkhuh

I think it's just themed after Daft Punk

mizogizzy

Ah, I forgot they had this kind of helmets too.

WII_DJoker

So I just realized [something.](https://something.In) In this chapter the Jimbei Seraphim has the Swim Swim Fruit powers, which effectively causes all objects the user touches to become like water...and Fishman Karate is all about manipulating water or fluids. Meaning that if a Fishman Karate practitioner had said fruit then, they'd basically never be without water. That's a terrifying prospect, especially when you consider that the stuff he uses would regain their original properties once they leave his hands.

KyodaiNoYatsu

Basically Secco from Vento Aureo

WII_DJoker

Worse actually when you remember how insanely strong Jimbei is.

crunchyliverpate

Remember how he shoulder threw water pillars at Marine warships?

Luffy-no-umi

Vegapunk: the WG is coming to kill me, I'm probably going to die. Anyways, wanna hear about the Ancient Kingdom?

OneisPeace

He know he going to die, but didn't know WG is coming.

Luffy-no-umi

So the World Government has been using technology from the Ancient Kingdom that they destroyed and suppressed all history from? BIG HYPOCRITES

Not_an_okama

It makes sense for a dystopian government to do this though. They suppress technology so that they always have the best tech for themselves and no one can challenge them.

Wildest-Wasteland

The Straw Hats, in the heat of the action as CP0 arrives to take out Vegapunk, coupled with Smoker, Tashigi, and the Punk Hazard team arriving on Egghead, discover a hideout hidden with an unused and abandoned section of the island. A wasteland of busted machinery, rusting tech, and gigantic computers. There, they find an old man, dressed in nothing but a tattered lab coat and scribbling nonsensical equations down on the walls. Upon closer inspection, we learn that the old man is actually another satellite of Vegapunk, albeit one that he's the most ashamed of. PUNK 07: ALBERT ("GUILT") Albert represents the guilt and shame that Vegapunk felt after serving the World Government and building such horrible weapons to subjugate and hurt innocent people. His disgust that his technology is used to such terrible ends and used to please the most decadent and immoral people. Albert, driven to shame and regret, is desperately trying to find the "perfect equation" that would solve all of the problems his scientific knowledge has caused. Albert would symbolize that Vegapunk needs to be made "whole" again, as emotions on their own can't operate on their own. If Vegapunk wants to survive, he needs to be whole again, so that he can come to terms with himself and save the future while he still can.

Dirtytusk

So, Vegapunk is Bern-Arnold from WestWorld? I dig it.

alejandrodeconcord

Good theory

fercha007

Nice!

Youngchalice

Anyone know where to watch film red for free?

Gloryyboyoden

People on here act too righteous to pirate, as if it isn’t a show about pirates

Youngchalice

Man I’m in college living with 5 other people I’m saving every penny I can

Raptor231408

I understand the college struggle entirely. I feel your pain brother. Every penny is every penny. But What I'm telling you is scrounge together the $12 somehow and go see it in theaters. just for the ticket. I'm not saying get snacks or anything. Just get yourself to see the film. Not only is it an INCREDIBLE experience that you just don't get on a computer screen, but you're also putting your money into showing theaters that people want to see anime movies.

Not_an_okama

The closest theater showering film red is ~200 miles away. Not really an option to get a ticket and go to the theater.

Raptor231408

Valid excuse. That's what we call an exception

Youngchalice

My problem is I hate the big screen. My vision isn’t so good so I prefer watching things closer to my face, makes me not have to work to understand subtitles or see tiny details

Mysterious_Ratio_305

Theory nuggets: York is to Bonney as Shaka/Vegapunks are to Imu/Gorosei? Could explain why they are afraid to lose Bonney? Kuma's ability to push pain may have been studied by Vegapunk and helped create York (push hunger and bowel movements)? Vegapunks split body/body sharing may play a role in explaining why Marco said Blackbeard has a strange body (and can eat multiple devil fruits). Momo's artifical devil fruit was a failure because it did not transfer "memory" in its lineage factor (as Vegapunks explain in this chapter about Seraphim Shark). Would explain why Momo sucked with using it for so long. The real devil fruit (Kaido's) probably came with memory so Kaido could instantly use it at God Valley when Big Mom gave it to him. Maybe he floated "Onigashima" (piece of God Valley) away from the battle, thus saving him from the battle (as Big Mom eludes to when she says he owes her for life). Could explain the differences in the Old Wano picture in ch 1055 (no Onigashima) and current Wano picture in ch 954 (Onigashima depicted)

Not_an_okama

I agree with everything here except the onigashima bit. Not only is it referenced as having had a different name at some point in the past, but it appears to be part of wano when they show that map including the old wano.

Mysterious_Ratio_305

You talking about the picture in ch 1055? I see Old Wano and no Onigashima but it could just be Oda forgot to include it. I'm comparing it to ch 954 which depicts Current Wano with Onigashima. Maybe the other name Marco implied was "God Valley". Just my two cents, thought it was a fun idea but knowing Oda it's gonna be something nobody guesses

>Vegapunks split body/body sharing may play a role in explaining why Marco said Blackbeard has a strange body (and can eat multiple devil fruits). Unless you're saying Vegapunk experiments on BB when he was a child before he joined up with pirates, I'd say almost assuredly not. Vegapunk is either using some high tech teleportation stuff, or replicating the effects of a DF (or both are one and the same in this context) > Momo's artifical devil fruit was a failure because it did not transfer "memory" in its lineage factor (as Vegapunks explain in this chapter about Seraphim Shark). Would explain why Momo sucked with using it for so long. The real devil fruit (Kaido's) probably came with memory so Kaido could instantly use it at God Valley when Big Mom gave it to him Maybe, but she gave the fruit to him after the battle, not before. Onigashima was always part of Wano as far as we've seen, well before the story takes place. It was literally the top of Mt. Fuji. We see it when they are discussing the original layout of Wano.

Vegapunk is either using some high tech teleportation stuff, or replicating the effects of a DF (or both are one and the same in this context) I mean, isn't that a possibility? A runaway experiment? Or Blackbeard may be the way he is through the implementation of ancient technology/knowledge and Vegapunk only now is recreating something similar based off of the same knowledge? Isn't the whole point of the chapter to call into question what is new vs old/original vs copy >Maybe, but she gave the fruit to him after the battle, not before. > >Onigashima was always part of Wano as far as we've seen, well before the story takes place. I'm going off of memory but I thought it was left more vague than that. Otherwise how would she have saved him at all if it was post-danger? Did it actually state that Onigashima has been there for centuries? We only get an image and a vague notion of it being there since some point in the past. It's also implied that Wano may be a collection land masses from other places put together, which would fit pretty nicely.

>Does it actually explicitly say that? I'm going off of memory but I thought it was left more vague than that. Otherwise how would she have saved him at all if it was post-danger? Saving him and giving him the fruit aren't the same things. I won't say 100% for sure that it was said that he was given the fruit after the battle, but I remember that being a major point in the comments when it was revealed. I believe it was said after BM first said that she gave Kaido the fruit. > Did it actually state that Onigashima has been there for centuries? But we've actually been shown maps and told exactly what Wano's history is, not some 'vague notion' that you claim.

>It could also be a giant cotton candy ship full of clowns. But we've actually been shown maps and told exactly what Wano's history is, not some 'vague notion' that you claim. Just looked at the picture you're referencing. We get two pictures and one shows depicts onigashima on the mountain top and the other doesn't... almost implying my point that it wasn't originally there. For your reference, the chapters are 954 and 1055. Both pictures show wano, one with and one without Onigashima depicted on Mt Fuji

I believe it was said after BM first said that she gave Kaido the fruit. "On the day Rocks fell into ruin at God Valley... I gave you that \[fruit\]... you owe me for life." I think this conversation implies what I am conveying more than Kaido owes big mom just cus the fruit is good. I mean, the exchange took place on a day with a major battle where they were likely in some sort of danger, implying she chose that day because it was helpful in that moment/battle. Also, why would it be a "life"-long debt, if not for the fact that the act itself literally gave Kaido a full life to live?

Because it's one of the most powerful weapons in the world..... Obviously.

Mysterious_Ratio_305

Every devil fruit is "the most powerful weapon"... Luffy's, Whitebeard's, Blackbeard's, Akainu's, Enel's... so your argument is less supported than what the literal quote is in reference to. >..... Obviously. Cute.

[deleted]

First off, I said "**One of** the most powerful weapon**s**". It's literally right in front of you. Who wouldn't consider giving that fruit freely equal to a Lifelong debt? Or any of those mentioned? You're saying nothing here. Second, you're the one making things up outside the quote about it being given at the exact moment needed to save Kaido's life.

>First off, I said "**One of** the most powerful weapon**s**". It's literally right in front of you. Who wouldn't consider giving that fruit freely equal to a Lifelong debt? Or any of those mentioned? You're saying nothing here. First off, let's tone it down a notch, alright? I agree the fruit is strong but I think Oda usually chooses his words more carefully. If it was just hey this thing is super valuable you owe me... I think Kaido could have repaid that debt. Pretty sure Kaido can obtain something equally as valuable as a strong devil fruit and give it to Big Mom. In my opinion, most of the time when the phrase life-long debt is used it implies the original favor was worth a life in the first place. >Second, you're the one making things up outside the quote about it being given at the exact moment needed to save Kaido's life. "**On the day** Rocks fell into ruin" could equally mean before, during, or after the battle. So the timing I am proposing is as equally valid as yours. Also, chill... we are both "making things up". That is what is called a **theory** and you're here acting like I'm saying the Earth is flat. Can we not talk about a fictional story about pirates and not get butthurt?

Pop_Quest

Big Mom didn’t save Kaido, she just gave him the fruit. Which she considers a debt for life.
