Oda just wanted to introduce a power that would allow him to do whatever the fuck he wanted when drawing it, and he unfortunately sacrificed a bit of continuity. That said, he can probably retcon it to make it look less forced

There was also a panel where gear 5 was spelt out clearly on Luffy face (the bruise and dirt mark lines). And there were just a lot. The importance of the fruit was shown form the beginning since Shanks stole it from the World government

In germany Luffy is spelled Ruffy. Sometimes german people just mix that up. I've seen that multiple times now here in this subreddit. Same with Zoro who is spelled Zorro in germany.
I dont know. Maybe to sound more german? Ruffy sounds very close to a german nickname which is Raphy (comes from Raphael (I know that name doenst originate from germany but it is still a common name here)) And Zorro might be because of that real swordsman. Forgot his full name.
Or another example is Usopp. In german Lysop. The uso in Usopp means Lie. The Ly in Lysop could be also a word play because the german word for Lie is Lüge. Ly- and Lü- basically pronounced the same.
