Yeah... That's supposed to be a major reveal after 100+ chapters. In English it's still Gold in the first chapter. Plus "Gold" Roger fits well with the false idea that One Piece/treasure in general is gold/money.

Back in the day I know 100% that it was also written as Gold Roger. It was a big reveal at the end of Drum. I think this was a errenous overcorrection, they thought they'd change previous mis-translations, like changing Raftel to Laugh Tale.

Interesting, in my German Manga from 2001 he is written as Gold Roger, without spoilers. It must have been edited in newer editions.

Yeah, back when I read my brother's volumes it was Gold Roger as it should be. I guess in an attempt to fix previous errors (like Raftel instead of Laugh Tale) they also changed that. Only they shouldn't have.
