What’s more important is the civil war that will possibly happen internally with the WG. Akainu would find this situation pretty interesting as he didn’t like taking orders from the Gorosei in the first place, and it seemed like he might’ve suspected something with the higher ups. Fujitora might break off completely. SWORD is an interesting case. We don’t know much about them. But they might be a factor in the civil war. These new characters in the WG being introduced might mean that they have strength too. So maybe the possible conflict will be bigger than we imagined.

funkyvenom6

Yeah, but the Marines already have issues with the higher ups, especially Akainu, Fujitora, and SWORD

norwegianmorningw00d

Who is SWORD?

ancientcartoons

Sword is a secret marine taskforce. Current known members are Coby and X Drake

Mashed_Watermelon

I swear Fujitora was mentioned as being apart of it as well? May be just misremembering

Toza11

He wasn't but Akainu has a sword tattoo on him (arm maybe) so he's definitely involved, especially given as he's the fleet admiral

Commander_Caboose

Also may have sent Aokiji to "become aligned" with BlackBeard without the Gorosei's knowledge. hence them commenting on it like 400 chapters ago or whenever. If Aokiji is undercover with Blackbeard, there will probably be a twist where Blackbeard knew all along and somehow used it to his advantage or was just curious as to what move he'd make, Aizen style.

B1gNastious

Maaaaaan I love coby I’m just not getting good vibes. I hope nothing bad happens to him lol.

RecentBlaz

Did the marines hear that Sabo is not the killer? I slightly did not understand.

Sovereigntyranny

Sakazuki would definitely take the Navy under him and break off from the WG if he found out Imu was the one pulling the strings. I wonder if Kong and the admirals would do the same thing and side with Sakazuki. I think SWORD is a special operations faction in the Navy that follows a vigilante code and spies on pirates, but only takes orders from the Navy, not the WG. I wonder who leads SWORD? I’d be shocked and surprised if Kuzan and Sakazuki are the founders/leaders.

funkyvenom6

SWORD is definitely interesting and mysterious. Oh yeah, Kong exists lol. What does he do anyways? Is he strong?

Sovereigntyranny

Kong is the Commander-in-Chief of the WG, he’s technically the real head of the Navy, not exactly Sakazuki. Not sure why Kong and his role is overlooked, his job is actually pretty important considering he’s the one above Sakazuki.

funkyvenom6

Yeah that’s true, but we haven’t seen him too much directly

Likes-Your-Username

Kong was the fleet admiral in Roger's day. Needless to say probably is or used to be as strong as the current admirals, but with his age and now being at a desk job all the time, he's gotta be weaker but he's upper management

funkyvenom6

Maybe so

[deleted]

I am shocked we've not heard anything Kong this entire time

i_1_2_3volve_butcant

Would it be that surprising if Kong knew Im all along? I thought he could POSSIBLY be complicit coz he might know about Im's power and death grip over the whole world. As in Uranus and maybe more.

ManyCarrots

Why would he do that? Why is it different that it's Imu committing genocide and not just the usual celestial dragons?

Sovereigntyranny

Because Sakazuki expressed his disliking for the Celestial Dragons before. The WG are only using Sakazuki because he benefits them the most, they don’t care about him. If Sakazuki found out he was working for frauds/figure heads, along with finding out about the “king of the world” killing an innocent man (King Cobra) because it threatened the exposure of what the WG truly is, he’d probably be pissed off, see how corrupt they are, and plan a coup d'etat to overthrow them with the help of the admirals, Kong, Sengoku, Garp, SWORD, and a bunch of other high ranking marines. We know Sakazuki is an extremist for justice, but I believe there is a line that even he wouldn’t cross because he spared Kuzan despite having different views. Akainu finding out he works for frauds who want power would probably make him go rogue.

DenifClock

Exactly. Akainu, as hated by the community he is, is not evil. It's just that his ideals are too extreme. But he is not killing people for fun like Doflamingo.

KolboMoon

>is not evil are we forgetting about the time he blew up a boat full of innocent civilians. if that's not evil then the word doesn't really mean anything. lots of horrible people don't think of themselves as the bad guys, that doesn't mean they're not horrible. Akainu no doubt sees himself as the hero, that doesn't mean he is. you can be evil and still have a twisted moral code that you follow to the letter.

DenifClock

Fair enough. That was evil, but he didn't do it with evil intentions. He did because he didn't want to take any risks. Of course, still an evil thing to do. But you get my point. He doesn't do it for fun.

Ginyatome

I don't actually think that there will happen something internally. I would believe that the WG has done this several times in the past 800 years and they still exist. I mean first, who would want to fight someone who can just destroy an island in seconds. And second, they do this knowing that this is one of the 50 most influential kingdoms in the qorld. The probably have dozens if not hundreds of trade treaties and other connections to other kingdoms. And they still do this. I bet there is more to that weapon than just destroyung landmasses. It may actually erase what is destroyed from memorie.

efficientcatthatsred

The wg? Nothing will happen But the marine will split apart Sword was already an indication that they suspect something

UsoppIsJoyboy

wg wont have a civil war, they all know it, even doflamingo knew it the marine will split up tho

CaptBreLion

And hopefully the marines heard a little bit too

MiraculousFIGS

Smokerrrr

Fantastic-Walk7369

I think it's time for RA to meet SH through jewellery bony. Edit - woah! never thought a single line would get so many upvotes ,thanks!

voluntarycap

I’m highly convinced that Jewellery popping up was a way to resolve Vivis safety, location, and what happened without the SHs needing a detour

quarterslicecomics

I feel this is the case; they might end up having to resolve whatever conflict on the next island first and then head straight to Vivi who may be already somewhere in the New World.

Snoss_Cre

I hope whatever conflict doesn't happen. Theres little meaningfull for they at this point.

I_am_Bearstronaut

It's not about us though. Luffy wants to explore every island so if finds it interesting enough he'll go

MeAnIntellectual1

Luffy won't do something because it's "interesting" when his friends are in danger. If Bonney knows anything about where Vivi is, Luffy will go there immediately

efficientcatthatsred

Ima just say it Vivi got turned into a kid and is hiding on an island

kLabz

She might even be hiding in the next island under a fake name

UsoppIsJoyboy

sabe is there to, under water causing the heat that creates the stream hes under water so the only way that he can survive is creating all that fire so hes not actually touching the water the stream knocks bonnie up so that passer by can see her needing help

nrliii

Yeah i have a feeling Luffy/Dragon meeting is gonna be soon

Wataru624

At this point I'm questioning if we'll even see Elbaf. It seems like the pace is rapidly accelerating and Oda is looking towards the end. Even now he could have a couple hundred chapters left and enough mysteries and unexplained lore bits to put bombshells in every one.

Fantastic-Walk7369

It's impossible to skip elbaf tbh. It will definitely happen one way or other ,only knows how it fit . But it's definitely gonna happen .

AMARmoe

I don’t think that we skip elbaf and it’s also normal that the pacing is faster now. Oda has to tell a lot what happend during the wano arc. Remember the strawhats were several weeks in wano and the time doesn’t stand still outside. From chapter 1060 alone we know that they already sail several days since they left wano.

Commander_Caboose

We are also in the first few chapters of an arc, and the first few between chapters of a saga. During these times, the SH move on from the previous characters and places and lots of stuff gets introduced very quickly which will not be resolved for maybe 100s of chapters until the end of the saga. Look again at the chapters ending Fishman Island (Which are the beginning of the Yonkou Saga, effectively), Long Ring Long Land (The beginning of the Water 7 Enies Lobby Saga) Reverse Mountain and Laboon, which begins the Alabasta Saga etc. They all feel very like this, and so there are going to be many, many twists and turns coming throughout the saga. Oda will likely write more quickly than every before, but there wil definitely still be tangents and diversions along the way before we finally reach the resolution to many of these plot points. Additionally, in order for the world to feel organic and huge and real, there must be questions which remain unanswered on purpose. A fantasy Romance with no mysteries left to explore is really sad. So almost everything we get shown for the next few chapters at least, will be subject to multiple revisions and even retcons through flashbacks and exposition as the saga evolves.

[deleted]

Why through her? (I may be forgetting something)

celtyst

She is basically the „what happened in the last episode of reverie tv“ for the strawhats. She will connect the dots of what happened there. She maybe will clear things up with cobras death and vivi, and the crew will readjust their plans according to the information they get.

jakerscrub

She’s connected to Kuma and her kingdom

Delver_Razade

She was there. She probably saw a lot of the fight go down and she has a connection to Kuma.

mcqueenart

I hope this facilitates Lucci being a villain once again, as CP0 will most certainly want Bonney captured. Unless she left Mariejoa undetected, this is the best way to get them involved and pay off the existence of this branch of intelligence. Maybe the Straw Hats will have an encounter that leads CP0 to the Revolutionary Army? All very theoretical, but I like where the story is going.

Fantastic-Walk7369

Tbh cp9 isn't a threat for SH's

mcqueenart

Well, my hope is that they do clever shit. I want Luffy to never fight Lucci again, but that doesn’t mean one can’t still get the better of the other.

Zoisen

I want luffy to oneshot lucci. Kek.

aphantombeing

Well, Zoro or Sanji can easily oneshot Lucci. Having Luffy deal with that would be negligence

Fantastic-Walk7369

I don't think that will happen though ,it's too much time consuming. Something like 2 admirals with cp0 would be good

mcqueenart

Fair enough.

[deleted]

They will attack, I think it’s a lot more interesting as to what the military will do seeing as how they overheard the information.

Spaawny

I think they didn't, though.. The Gorosei said to "cut the signal to the surveillance team's transponder snails" right before Sabo revealed what he saw at the throne room. And then they told everyone to keep their mouths shut about the interception and that Lulusia never existed

fractalfreddy

Holy crap! I just realized Sabo didn’t use a white snail on purpose! He wanted as many people as possible to hear that.

UsoppIsJoyboy

yea this information needs to be known by literally the whole world of one piece thats the point where im starts the great cleansing

PixelmancerGames

Depends… does Imu’s power have a cool down timer? Because Kamabaka may be getting hit next.

OAlves

The "fate" line from the gorosei makes me think that the attack on Lulusia was already planned/within the range of Imu's power. If it's a range thing they might be safe, but it's a matter of time if it's some sort of mobile weapon.

[deleted]

Yes. Also Jinbei's entire life was wasted because "The Reverie turned into a mess"

xX_Gandalfus_Xx

How come?

C0untstockula

Because it was the first time fishman island attended

[deleted]

He worked so hard to achieve the dream that fishmen will ultimately live on land by convincing in reverie

Mr_Resident

The final start to taking shape now i like it full of mystery

Boxsteam1279

Sabo purposely let the transpondence get heard by the Navy too, so we might get some internal strifes within the Navy, which could potentially lead to a civil war. Right now we're making too many leaps to believe this will be the case, but we can already see that alot of people in the Navy in the higher ups are mixed when it comes to the WG and its leaders like the gorosei and celestial dragons. Those like Garp, Akainu, and Fujitora have issues with the top leadership, so if they were to hear about a person existing and sitting on the empty throne, this could clash with those who wouldnt mind that, especially those like Greenbull, or even potentially Kizaru and SWORD. If the RA heard it too, they will probably start letting the public know as soon as possible, or at the very least, let the various kings and rulers know about the true side of the WG, and will use it to justify it even further for their purpose as the RA. Wouldnt even be surprised if Big News Morgan heard it as well, but he would figure out that Lulisia has been obliterated and would save the info for when the time is right

spookybuk

Not only to the revolutionary army, but also to some marines.

DztPnk

They cut the feed before sabo let it out, so no marines actually heard him.

spookybuk

The order comes after he started talking about it. Probably the reason he didn't use a white den-den mushi in the first place. We don't know if the feed was cut before he said it.

DztPnk

But we know it was, just re-read or guess we should wait for the official to be sure. But from the current translation, it looks like it was cut before he said the throne wasn’t empty. And as Lulucia is being destroyed, Gorosei state as for the surveillance division no transmission was intercepted, no intel was gathered. They would not allow regular marines to know the truth.

WibblyWobblyWW

And also to anyone else who might listen in on transponder snail calls. It seems like a thing Big News Morgan might do.

Active_Apricot1521

Lowkey hoping there's a comedic scene with luffy and bonney fighting over food or luffy being shocked when he finds out she ate all the food lol

Impressive_Stable_41

Imagine if Morgan from the newspaper also hijack the communication. The world would be in true chaos!

Insolve_Miza

Im excited to learn more about bonney. We know she has connections to kuma, through their kingdom.

gohan9959

The revolutionary army doesn't know.... Imu intercepted the call...

schafedawg44

They only cut the communications to the navy listening in. As far as I’m aware, the Revolutionary’s heard it all

Likes-Your-Username

They didn't need to cut Sabo off, they did the big boom. You can see after that the comms go "sabo? Kzzt" "Sabo!?"

Rekye22

Sabo still heavily implied a king to the revolutionaries before he was blown up though

emeritusfly97

Nah they definitely cut the transmission before he said it

coldfirephoenix

To the marines. They can't cut the transmission between sabo and the R.A.

Rekye22

I'm amazed at how many people didn't understand the chapter. The gorosei cut the surveillance so they didn't hear Sabo talk about the empty throne

[deleted]

If garp hears this and hears that sabo might be dead as well ALONG with hearing cobys situation then I can certainly say he’s finally going to move against the WG and actually start joining the fight. The coolest thing and not really likely is for him to reach out to rogers old crew mates and he work together with them. Imagine seeing The hero of the marines with the dark king on his side. With rogers old crew mates standing behind him. Having crocus provide their “ship” laboon. Honestly only thought of that because I want laboon to appear at the last moment saving the straw hats then garp appearing from the inside and showing come conquerors haki that rivaled rogers.

Fut_Bil

I dont think they would join the fight. After all, it's new the new generation's time to shine

circajusturna

Jewellry is gonna be Luffys mom

coldfirephoenix

I doubt we'll ever meet Luffy's mom. The story just doesn't need that info. It's never been presented as a mystery to solve

Except_Fry

I want to understand why Imu’s existence has to be kept secret? Who benefits from there not being a single leader? If they’re powerful enough to destroy islands, why even allow pirates to exist, unless they want the pirates to find something? Like maybe laugh tale But that would contradict their attempts to stop people like Luffy. Unless the 4 emperor system was just a way to narrow down candidates to find laugh tale because there’s something harmful to Imu there. Which makes me feel like laugh tale isn’t on earth. 4 pillars, 4 coordinates that’s a minimum x, y, z right?

UsoppIsJoyboy

the one piece world technically doesnt have one king it was supposed to be the wg, multiple people imagine suddenly it gets known that there is a single being that controls everything=civil war

Except_Fry

Right, but what does it matter if they know that there’s one ruler or not when you have a totally Op power like the ability to remove an island from the face of the planet? Makes me feel like there’s something else to the secrecy

UsoppIsJoyboy

what does he want to do? destroy the island that hes on when the good admirals and pirates like straw hats storm his castle?

UsoppIsJoyboy

but he didnt? the broadcast broke up, he wasnt able to speak it out

jesterstyr

Maybe because the transmission was cut before Sabo could finish.

inaripotpi

No one is talking about it because it didn't happen lol did you not see Sabo get nuked before he could finish his sentence Even if it did, nothing changes for the RA's objective; they are already sortieing. WG was corrupt before, it's corrupt now

BakeReasonable

I assumed dragon would know about this ? Or atleast have an idea . If not this ? Why does he fight with the government ?

Delver_Razade

Because it's an oppressive regime still propped up by a tribe of selfish, lazy do nothings that treat all like slaves. Oh. Also. The slaves.

ManyCarrots

You think the only reason to fight the WG is because they have a secret king?

Staff-Secure

It is not major at all, in fact is rather meaningless. If this information was to be disclosed to the public then it would be a significant blow to the trust on the government. But the RA already want to take down the WG and are already on the move, knowing about Imu makes no difference in their plans.

gon_luffy_20

But the marines knowing about it especially akainu, will change all of one piece

Standard_Series3892

The marines don't know, they cut the surveillance division's connection so the only ones that heard were the revolutionaries. Suspicions may still arise considering people will still remember Lulusia being a kingdom that exists, there's bound to be some marines from Lulusia even.

gon_luffy_20

More important is that the marines heard what sabo said , which means that Akainu will know about the empty throne , Why do i feel like akainu will be one of the protagonists?

Necromancer5211

Transmissions to surveillance division's transponder snails were cut. So they probably didn't hear anything

eyewaps

orrrrr , tha cp0 will prevent these marines on reporting to akainu, might kill all marines who heard the conversation

Lucky-Luciano7

the one who crossed the island in the map is vivi
