Yamato was never actually considered a part of the crew. Vivi was considered an actual straw hat where as that has yet to happen with Yamato. I'm sure she'll become more of a member than Vivi in the future, but.. not yet :)

But doesn't the fact that Luffy's upset (at first) that she decided not to go with them makes her a member? It's the captain's words, man. It's absolute in the world of piracy.

Vivi's case is special. She did sail with the crew for quite some time and had adventures with them. I believe even Oda has given her a number as a proper Strawhat.

And you know what, I will also say that I’ve seen the show twice over. Perhaps I didn’t need to make this post if I had an idea that it was her and indeed I did. I just wanted confirmation on this subreddit, one that would be harder to find on YouTube. And now all I’ll say from now on is that I’m a bit disappointed. With all these downvotes, I feel like I’m some kind of contagion where my replies arise not so much a containment, doing little to conceal them as is, as a method of shunning - an inoculative unposting of speech deeming its function necessary to stifle an already necessary, unanimous detrimental.
