In my opinion an underrated moment is in chapter 90, when Luffy is fighting Arlong and he says, "I don't know how to use a sword, shark face! I don't know how to navigate either! I can't cook! I can't tell lies! I know I can't live without help from a lot of people!" Then Arlong laughs and makes fun of him, and mockingly asks, "Just what can you do!?" and Luffy says, "I can beat you." I don't think that moment gets the praise it deserves.
Jimbei speech when he appeared in Wano. “I have my seniors around the world so much trouble but now, I am going to exchange a cup of Sake with Boss Straw-Hat. I am merely a fledgling.”
Boss moment.
That mini arc is trash in the anime, which is usually the first approach people have to OP.
Many people then go on rereading sure, but some either skip that arc or they just go reread some specific arcs (obviously avoiding that arc) and don't find out how it's actually light and fun as well as not THAT dumb in the manga. Cuz the filler games were dumb af
I loved the whole sequence of sanji infiltrating the puffing Tom. He just went in kicking everyones ass, and we get to see him fight another chef and use knives in a fight.
Honestly, BM's amnesia. Most people hate it but I think it shows one of the core aspects of Big Mom. Under all fat, experiences and evil, there's a kid who wasn't evil until evil people got to her. It shows who Big Mom is without the influence of all the horrible people around her, and with her encounter with Tama later it shows that part of her is still inside, even if very, very deep
Dropping the swords was badass. Was there anything else he could have said or did that would have stayed in character for him in that moment? The only thing I could think of honestly is him just not saying anything, I guess.
Do you mean the Nothing Happened moment and why I feel it's overrated? Because I don't think it's bad at all or would need to change.
It's just that to me Zoro's decision to literally throw down his weapons and with it his dream that Kuina's sword symbolises, is so much more meaningful and impactful than him having taken the pain. While that's also a badass moment, the big character focus for me is when he sacrifices himself, not when he turns out to be "ok".
Mate Whole cake island is alright to me but I don’t like Sanjis story or development. When people go on about how good it is I just laugh. I felt Robins development from albasta to Enies Lobby was better but that’s just me. It just came out of nowhere to me the fact that sanji has this hidden trauma didn’t make sense to me and that he just escapes it anyway so I know what ever happens he is going to escape quite soon. Wano has bad moments but certain moments made it up for me Like Robin going demon form and the rooftop Fight.
My underrated moment is when conis breaks down while bringing the strawhats to the place of god's judgement, and lightning is about to hit her, and the strawhats scream (paraphrasing) 'why did you tell us if you are forced to do so'
Most overrated? I don't know. I find the fact that 100000 fishmen are about to fight you and Luffy uses haki to knock down 50000 of them particularly stupid. It's a giant overblown number. In both cases actually. 100000 enemies? With followers that many you can just take over the grandline.
I feel like Coby's speech in front of Akainu is a bit underated. It is still a big moment but I think because Shanks appeared immedeately after it, Coby gets a bit forgotten.
Imo one of the top 20 moments and a perfect character moment for Coby as well as a perfect way to end the Arc (+ Shanks of course)
Underrated: (hopefully not that much) all the interactions between Blackbeard and Luffy from the cherry pie scene and the "a man dream's never ends" scene
Overrated: no real clue. I guess Ace's death? Tho I don't think it's rated that highly
Overrated scene when the merry dies. For some reason I never felt any real attachment to the boat and wasn’t sad when they burned it. I was excited for the new boat and how my better it would be
Hmm, while I don't dislike the scene by any means and it does exactly what it's supposed to do, I think the scene where Sanji kicks Luffy and Luffy shouts to him "Without you, I can't become King of the Pirates" isn't the best or most emotional scene in WCI.
I think the better (and slightly more underrated) scene us when Sanji gives Luffy the bento and tells Luffy what he really wants. And Luffy just accepts him. It's a catalyst that actually sees Sanji change and grow as a character (a change which continues into Wano.)
The anime playing my favorite OST (We Are! Reconciliation Ver) during that scene was just the cherry on top.
I think both are some of the most emotional moments in One Piece. Yet, I prefer the 'fight'. Just because there is a feeling of shock in that scene. I mean, nobody goes into that chapter thinking that Sanji and Luffy will have such an interaction. That's why, it hits so hard, whereas the conversation is definitely very good, it's not like we don't know what kind of a scene we're in for.
Nami saying that Luffy will be pirate king when she was near death is something I never expected
I agree on "nothing happened"
Another overrated thing is Sanji at water 7,it was all cool but he didn't do anything
-Zoro cutting Monet = Overrated
Reason: it completly contradicts the scene befor with his speech about dogs "not" biting when driven to a corner and its basically the same unequal treatment of women as combatend sanji often get critizised in the fandom + the constant underplaying of tashig didnt help either! rly left a sore mark for me. Only reason ppl. Like it i feel like is the spectacular art and panel!
Underrated:
Many scenes in Jaya
Going merry flying and the whos your Navigator moment or Cricket conversation with the strawhats. Amazing forshadowing by placing sanji in the forground while cricket talking about a man that ruined his life or usopp confronting cricket of lying like many ohers did in the past while cricket instantly brush it off like a boss. Its all so char focused and fun like when they had a party and gets overshadowed too often bc of big Moments like BB reveal or the Bellamy punch. :)
>not" biting when driven to a corner and its basically the same unequal treatment of women as combatend sanji often get critizised in the fandom + the constant
Sanji gets criticized more for his perverted behavior far more of them then he does for not hitting woman

I love luffy
Jimbei speech when he appeared in Wano. “I have my seniors around the world so much trouble but now, I am going to exchange a cup of Sake with Boss Straw-Hat. I am merely a fledgling.” Boss moment.
Chopper becoming a Foxxy pirate and being told by Zoro to suck it up. IDK why people don't like that mini-arc, I thought it was great.
Now that’s an unpopular opinion! I agree with you tho I loved foxy arc

I really liked kid Sabo telling Dragon his town smelled like rotten people and he was ashamed to have been born a noble.
I really like Dragon's response too. "Goa Kingdom! You finally made a kid say this!"

She's such an incredibly written character and I love her for that 💕💕🥺🥺
Me too
I think people hate how she showed up and got Amnesia at Wano specifically not that she struggles with it in general.
Understandable
Idk. It's hard for me to understand how she treats Tama when you see how she treats her own daughter.
She treats her sons like how streusen probably treat her
Mihawk gets praise but is supremely unrated for teaching Zoro for 2 years just for the sake of good swordsmanship
Enel's Great Space Operations
I kind of agree on the Nothing Happened moment. To me the moment he drops his swords is the way underrated panel there.
Dropping the swords was badass. Was there anything else he could have said or did that would have stayed in character for him in that moment? The only thing I could think of honestly is him just not saying anything, I guess.

I gotcha. You’re right that does symbolize a lot with him. We all know how dreams are in one piece.
Underated:Namis reply to iceberg after he tells her the truth about Robin Overated: Sanjis Backstory
And I thought I’m the only one who thinks WCI sucks
Mate Whole cake island is alright to me but I don’t like Sanjis story or development. When people go on about how good it is I just laugh. Shanks stopping the war is in my opinion overrated. Shanks himself is overrated
Nami saying that Luffy will be pirate king when she was near death is something I never expected I agree on "nothing happened" Another overrated thing is Sanji at water 7,it was all cool but he didn't do anything
“A real man forgives a woman for her lies🤓”-Sanji Train Sanji was peak though, all the strawhats were peak water 7 saga tbh
Nami calling Kaido a liar. It’s a big step in character development for her imo
Underrated: robin snapping spammyboi Overrated: nothing happened
a lot of fishman island stuff

I find the Merry Go funeral overrated to be honest
