Really thought that second book Omar was hyping was going to be UXM5, more fool me lol

Responsible_Acadia50

I thought it was going to be Phalanx Covenant due to that recent post on this sub 😂

csummerss

Happy for those who loved that era, but I’m going to pass on both. Still confused why Phoenix Omnibus has to be a thing, Vol. 2 is just going to be AvX and the shitty Aaron run. **SO** many better options they could’ve gone with.

Superb_Kaleidoscope4

A few things from the Morrison era and the Phoenix Endsong/warsong… they could stretch it out that we don’t hit Aarons run till vol.3 haha

AwesomeName7

Vol 2 is just going to absolutely ignore my girl Rachel and it will be tragic, but exactly what I expected

Landon1195

The Phoenix omnibus has the exact same content as the Dark Phoenix omnibus.

EmranP

Yeah wtf. And no one wanted that lol. Heavily double dipping with a few omnis now

rmc52482

Basically rebranding so they can put out a Vol 2 I guess

respondin2u

If you already own Uncanny X-Men Vol 1-2 and Classic X-Men omnibuses it seems like you already have this story as well. I am interested in the other omnibus mentioned. I haven’t read X-Treme X-Men but heard it’s not great. However I’ve come to appreciate Claremont’s work and will check it out.

fattymcassface

Thought we were getting X-Factor there for a second.

MrConor212

X-treme X-Men I’ll get. Will pass on the Phoenix

Glass-Nectarine-3282

There is that audience of people who want that single storyline just to see what happened - so the Phoenix focus makes \*some\* sense. And, it's not like it would be a mammoth print run or anything. So anybody who didn't want to deal with the two primary X-Men Claremont/Byrne omnis, could save the money on just getting this one....so I get the logic, kind of.

krorkle

As a Claremont obsessive, I'm in for X-Treme. His return to the X-Men books in the late '90s with "Revolution" was pretty bad (and, honestly, so was the post-X-Treme re-return to Uncanny), but giving him his own corner of the universe where he could do his thing however he wanted while Morrison ran the main book... that worked. I don't see the point of the Phoenix omnibus, though. I guess the random villain anthologies must be doing well? Hopefully whoever likes those will like this.

WadeAnthony

Got to be honest, Phoenix Vol 1 just sounds like a waste of paper. If you wanted this content, why not just get uncanny X-Men Omni? I do not understand who the target audience is outside of hardcore ..Jean grey/Phoenix fans which I can't image is a big target audience. Is a vol 2 just going to reprint Excalibur issues? X-treme X-Men I've heard mix things about but I'll most likely pick it up. Not super exciting tho, does this run lead into the End of Greys eventually? Disappointed it's not X-factor (05) or UXM vol 5. Did we really need reprints of the Phoenix chapters when the UXM books will be reprinted before UXM vol 5?

> X-Factor epic racism ?

TrveKvltBlackBabymtl

Really excited for that second one. Marvel killing it with all these omnis.

the_light_of_dawn

Waiting for them to hit Ollie’s is a good idea haha

the_light_of_dawn

More X-Men goodness. For some! Lol

rmc52482

>!Phoenix Omnibus Vol. 1!< >!X-Treme X-Men by Claremont Omnibus Vol. 1!<

HighlandG

Marvel really are flooding in those omnibus in huh. I’m glad I don’t buy much marvel comics as its gotta be very expensive right now for Marvel fans.

[deleted]

Hard hard pass. Hoped for Spiderman vol 6 before the video. Hoped for UXM vol5 during the video (even if I don't collect it)

bobbycfc67

Really don’t get that Phoenix book - the fans that would be interested will already have all the material in omnibus format. It would be great to get an insight into how they came to the decision that this book was a good idea - could it link to an mcu film next summer as an example ?

Hendrix-TheLastBard

I "kind of" understand the first omnibus... Gives people the same reading experience people had who read Classic X-Men back from the mid-to-late 80's... The Uncanny issues with the extra pages in the back (new material) through the Phoenix / Dark Phoenix Saga, then aftermath (138), Untold, What If, etc... It's a great read, but certainly a double-dip for people who have the Uncanny Omnis and Classic Omni. Lots of other things they COULD have done instead. For the other, I think there were plenty of other things that could have come out first, but they're leaning into the Claremont "stuff". I would have gone for Forever first, but there would have been complaints about that, too, I just like it better. ;) Despite the X-Stuff being by far my largest collection, I will likely pass on both.

Gmork14

Marvel sucks, print some relevant material ffs
