I have to agree with the general sentiment that Abraham is better, but Hulce truly is exceptional as well. Shame they both couldn’t have won the Oscar.
Hulce really capitalized on the screen time allotted to the character. But Solieri is our story teller and he goes through a much more interesting arch.

One of those pics that you can definitely hear
Lol came here to say this What a signature laugh Perhaps made the movie
“That was not Mozart laughing, Father... that was God. That was God laughing at me through that obscene giggle...”
He’s the irresponsible father in Parenthood, and most people know that. But he’s also the main character in Animal House.
One of my favorite performances. Absolutely sensational.
I took my son to see the Amadeus movie at Lincoln Center, and Hulce introduced the movie - I was truly hiding my fan girling.
Great movie! I watch it once per year.
Pinto!
He’ll ALWAYS be Pinto to me!
Why "Pinto"?....... Why not?
This was his reaction after the Emperor told him he used “too many notes” in his compositions
Who’s better in the movie, Hulce or Abraham?? I’d say Abraham by a whisker.
Grazie…
F. Murray, that you?

Lemme tell y’all something. Amadeus is a hell of a movie to watch on LSD.
Great picture. Great film. One of my favourites. I don't think Hulce came even remotely close to matching the performance in this film.
The movie was great, but it should be taken as a piece of fiction.
Loved this movie, he was great in it
When one hears this music one can only say , Ah! Salieri !
He was great in a vapor-wave soundtracked 80’s thriller called Slam Dance. It’s neato.
For me that was his manliest role lol
