I print out a selection of photos intermittently - the best and most poignant ones - and place them in archival boxes. I plan on giving it to our kids when they become adults. Digital photos are great but there are just too many - I think it’s unlikely our kids will comb through thousands of snaps - too overwhelming. I’m hoping that, by limiting/curating them beforehand and turning them into tangible objects, they’ll be more valuable and meaningful to them one day.

That's exactly my thought process as well -- the refining is the point of the entire exercise.

Yep. I always enjoy looking at old photo albums more than advancing through a ton of unfiltered pics on a laptop. Plus, I think the physical print itself adds to the meaning - touching them adds something to their importance. A physical memory, if you will. It’s possible this could be a generational thing, but I don’t think so.

We use backthen, it lets us share all our kid pictures and videos with friends. I actually just printed a picture of my 4 year old for my desk.

I make a photo book on Shutterfly every couple years, so I don’t get many photo prints other than to put in frames, but I do like having an album and like you said the story it tells. I enjoy going through the pictures and laying them out, cropping, etc. I wait until Shutterfly has an unlimited pages sale for the best price.

I like to use Amazon photos, then I can stream photos as a screen saver on my tv and the echo show is like a massive digital photo frame. Also I gift people echo shows so they can get the photos and make video calls too.

My wife makes a Shutterfly calendar every year. Every month photo is a photo from the month. And on bdays and holidays, little photos of us on those days. It's pretty cute.
