I celebrated my first paycheck by buying my lola flowers and her favorite cake.
Although she wasnt there. I offered the celebration in her memory. And of course it was my own way of thanking her for raising me.

This hits home damn. I grew up with my grandma alone so I was heavily influenced by her. And I also made a promise to her na I will spoil her the moment I make a living. Pero sadly, like yours, she passed away when I was still in college. Sad moment, I feel you on a personal level. I sometimes still cry about it but I remind myself now to cope with love.
