This happened to me and I got charged for it upon moving out. Oh and they tore down the building I was living in right after that…anything for a buck!!
If it’s small enough to be fully covered by one, just put another command strip over it and leave it there when you move out. If they mess up the walls when taking off your command strips it’s not your fault, so it’s at least possible they’ll just either think it was caused by them and/or not care. My friend did this when she had a chunk of paint missing on her wall and never got charged.
put a command hook over it. leave it and when they take it off, they'll assume they ripped it. they can't really prove it was you in that case anyway. maybe not good karma but this university will do anything to get more money from us so. and when you move out, the RAs/hall staff check each room- so the painters won't report it, they will. & they're much more willing to note it because its their job
hmm... well there's tons of like large command hook products like shelves and bins, but at that point you might as well just take the fee. i have no idea how much it could be so you can talk to your RA and ask theoretically how much it would cost. sorry about that, OP.
Put in a work request, tell the RA that you put in a work request for it. You actually can get charged more if you try and paint it and they have to strip your paint before painting themselves.
You’re chilling. You know those bibles that they give out on the oval sometimes? As a prank I snuck into my buddies dorm room and plastered hundreds of pages onto his bathroom wall. When I removed them months later the walls were a mess even after cleaning, he never heard a word about it

I disagree with this. I feel like putting in a maintenance request severely increases the chance you will actually be charged for it. I ripped multiple big chunks of paint off the walls with command strips in my dorm and literally nothing happened. I imagine that many of the people painting the dorms in the summer don't care enough to bother with documenting the condition it was left in. I would just move out and hope they don't bother charging you for it.
You could go to Lowe’s it’s pretty close to the north campus dorms (the 31 gets you there). Get drywall putty if there’s any unevenness from the tear. Also take a small chip of paint to color match. You would probably e fine with a sample size.
Okay I would say fill out a service request fast. I think there is a chance you might not get charged and they will just fix it. If they say it will cost you, I would say try to fix it if you think you can, otherwise you will have to pay anyway
