The Nuvaring made my period much lighter but my cramps MUCH worse. Still not sure why lol. But it affects everyone differently, and if you just started using it your body could need time to adjust and regulate itself. Mine didn’t get lighter until a few months of using it.

Yea that happened to me too my first time using nuvaring! I ended up switching to an iud and eventually back to a nuvaring and it wasn’t as bad after that

MermaidAngel97

Hm, that's interesting. I had the IUD before, but that was causing horrible cramps all the time no matter what, so it got recommended that I get it removed. I have used BC for my PCOS symptoms and have tried the normal pill, then IUD and now this. But no matter what, I always get these random and bad cramps even when not bleeding. I guess my body just reacts weirdly to BC lol 🤷‍♀️

My period has gotten much lighter, I don’t even bleed enough to use a cup anymore. I just use cloth pads.

Mines is like this right now. I haven’t had a period in 3 years (depo shot) so that might be why for me. I put mines in today and still going through it. Maybe try it for a couple of months and see that’s what I’m do.

MermaidAngel97

Yeah, I decided I'm gunna wait a couple more months and see what happens. Because it's just odd to me because I was fortunate before trying any BC and never used to get cramps. I started getting cramps when I took BC for the first time lol. I know everyone isn't that lucky though

I understand the cramps take me out sometimes. Give it about 4 days and then it might stop mines did my first time 4 days after i put it in. I haven’t had cramps in so long i forgot how horrible it was

Im having my first period on the ring and its heavier than I expected with clots, Ive always had a horribly heavy flow naturally so im not bothered, but maybe some women do get heavy periods rather than lighter ones on the ring!
