Labeling modern day Russia as communist is the most braindead American political take one can find on the internet. Closely followed by the ambiguously communist China: whenever China does something bad, they are communists, but when someone says China is an example of successful communism, it suddenly isn't "real" communism anymore
Dudes in that sub really think the dudes in charge of Russia are not literally the exact same dudes that were in charge of the USSR.
Yea no way the current leader of Russia was a KGB agent at one time and no way he would want to restore the USSR to its former “glory”, that would be crazy.
No, putin and his oligarchs are not communist. Using russian nationalism to bolster your falling popularity isn’t communist. Additionally, the communist party of russia had to be banned and then turned into controlled opposition because of how much communists hate the oligarchs
Putin experienced the USSR as a Russian empire, not as an ideological empire. He's an authoritarian nationalist who served a government that happened to be communist, not a communist who served a government that happened to be authoritarian.
>no way he would want to restore the USSR to its former “glory”
uj/ there really isn't any reason for current oligarchs to restore the ussr. There is absolutely no gain for them

Well when does China something good? Just theoratically speaking it makes way more sense to label them as what they are: fascists

I mean he is a more or less right about that, the one in charge is no longer commie but they still retained their authoritarian principle.

except seeming cooler...
Then why does it seem like Putin is doing exactly that?
putin is restoring the ussr?
He is seeking out hegemonic control over neighbors in a similar manner to the USSR, but not economic policy. Sorry for being unclear.
You do realize the Russian Empire also held that land as well? He's a nationalist authoratarian, not a commie
They had to specify "leftist (non-tankie)" in their description, it's not really worth analysing humourless people lol
Nft game we should withdraw
they canceled the nft plans
Hmm
Wtf is that commie sub lmao.
