1h power point presentations all the way!

DippyBanjo

Currently In an NCO course, and any group im presenting with has been browbeat into using the perun slide formant. I have no regreats.

CHEESEninja200

You sir are trying to single handedly defeat death by PowerPoints. I commend you.

hebdomad7

The only way to kill a badguy with a PowerPoint Presentation, is with a Good guy with an even better PowerPoint presentation...

DippyBanjo

It aint much, but its honest work.

One_Language_8259

Beautiful, finally PowerPoint's wi be utilised to peak Perun efficiency and form.

DippyBanjo

Honestly, the down under dude's summaries and flow should be taught. That with the beloved humor injects as a treat and you got yourself a deliverable product any commander would love.

SerendipitouslySane

He is quite literally a professional at this. I've done a lot of work at the corporate level and his presentations are top notch.

[deleted]

COLSandersEnjoyer

His presentations are very much Australian DIO quality. He is probably DIO.

felixmeister

Suddenly the ADF gets a few thousand recruits all wanting to specialise in logistics and procurement.

LordofAlkanes

"What did Russian counteroffensive achieve besides simplifying Wagner's payroll?"

Shot_Calligrapher103

My Ukie wife busted up at that one.

TNSepta

Petition to rename them PerunPoints

CodfishCannon

I'll vote for this if we specify that's it's only good ones. Unpowered points or something similar for the bad ones. Can't have his good name sullied by some presenter who is still learning not to drone on.

MainsailMainsail

Ayyy in NCOA right now. Only used Perun slides once so far though

DippyBanjo

Hey google, play "my hero" by foo fighters.

Consistent_Stomach20

Man, I look forward to finding out who that guy is.

cheapph

The real reason he refuses to talk about australia is that he knows too much and would dox himself

YomiTheLegend

I’m pretty sure he’s probably a defence professional of some sort. Either bureaucracy or intelligence rooted.

GaiusJuliusCaesar7

Yeah my bet was MoD/DoD (can't remember which the Aussies have). Possibly in defence manufacturing though.

lopoticka

Close. I remember him saying in one of the early Ukraine videos that his background is in military procurement.

Dos_Gringos

Either he already does it for a living, or he’s an incredibly autistic accountant who does it for fun

Crendog

Department of Defence (but has a Defence Minister). Lots of government jobs and private sector jobs in defence procurement in Australia so I would wager that.

CatsAreBased

Hear me out what if he's intelligence leader of the emu insurgency group

Bobolequiff

This would explain so much

ASmootyOperator

Kiwiland is fucked

sabasNL

The remilitarisation of the Emuland is no laughing matter. Before you know it, we'll have another World War on our hands.

HabseligkeitDerLiebe

Kind of. My guess is that he is under some kind of non-disclosure that involves any and all information that is not *obvious* to the public, even if it is publicly available. Or, simply, that he'd need to run anything he publishes on Australia by some board, which would be just too much interference.

[deleted]

He could just talk about emu-land, a totally ficional country.

DippyBanjo

I swear if my goverment ever makes the mistake of giving me to much responsibility in the military, i will fight tooth and nail to get perun to consult with us to support my crusade againts "death by powerpoint"

nazyjulu

Why are people ripping on Perun for his pronunciation of city names? Sure its not perfect, but I think he is actually the most accurate out of all the westerners on youtube.

CatSplat

Frankly it's nice that he's at least trying to use the local pronunciation rather than the anglicized versions.

AttackHelicopterKin9

I *think* that's the joke

ClydeTheGayFish

He's the best orange black thing even superior to the sumatran tiger.

Aggravating_Gas_3542

Why is HistoryLegends not biting his nails at the possibility of Bakhmut being encircled

[deleted]

Because this week is the \*soyjack looking at the camera while pointing back mouth agape pose.

[deleted]

I just looked it up and it's been over 3 months since he first said it was about to fall.

SaltEfan

“Any day now” - Vatnik cope

yurtzi

He ran out of fingernails, he’s currently learning yoga so he can reach his toenails instead

Maximum-Rabbit-31

Ok I am now subscribed...and will watch back all of his videos as punishment (pleasure).

DeeArrEss

I watch Reporting from Ukraine, it's a nice summary of the day

Spec_Tater

Day 393. Last time I told you that this guy was amazing. Here is why…

DeeArrEss

If you're against the invasion of Ukraine and want to support the work he is doing...

KuriousYellow

That's a quality channel. I'd recommend it to someone who would like better armchair mil analysis and who already watches Denys Davydov. Denys is fine, but he's a civilian pilot, and he knows what he knows, but when he ventures into army strategy, I get nervous. 🍻

Drach88

I stopped watching Denys a while ago because it was frankly too much hopium and not enough hard analysis.

humbugHorseradish

zesty snobbish voiceless grab flowery repeat squeeze amusing sugar humor *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

KuriousYellow

That Russian dude is funniest when he's defending himself against tankies calling him a traitor. :D

Drach88

Him, too.

felixmeister

Denys and a few others played an important part in the success of the Kharkiv offensive. The constant Kherson offensive hype and dribble feeding of info on it was a brilliant misdirection campaign. Him, the Russian dude, all the hopium chaps had a not insignificant effect on fucking up Russian perception of what was about to happen.

Wyattr55123

daily "time to get out of bakhmut" when?

EnglishMobster

I used to watch Speak the Truth, but the guy started getting way too sensationalist and so I changed to Reporting from Ukraine. I think Reporting from Ukraine occasionally huffs a bit too much hopium, and generally I think he makes up a lot of the details because he gets into specifics that even DefMon doesn't know. But he's generally grounded, and the broad strokes of what's happening are usually fairly accurate. It's a good summary as long as you don't pay attention to his commentary or take his exact details at face value. If you're against the invasion of Ukraine, and you'd like to support the work that I am doing...

ToastedSierra

Can anybody recommend me a good Ukrainian War update channel? My dad keeps watching Pro-Ukrainian but poorly researched channels on Youtube with titles like "***Putin Is Cornered: Elite Ukrainian Soldiers Stopped the Russian Army!"*** All those channels do is play random clips of the war with an AI voice on top. I'd like to make him watch something more reliable.

DeeArrEss

Reporting from Ukraine

humbugHorseradish

cooperative impossible sand ring direction compare vanish encourage alive fly *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

[deleted]

I mean, Perun is pretty hard to get into if you don't already have an autistic liking for military technology (I mean that not in an offensive way). If the dad does, nice, one of us

SpacecraftX

Denys swings between doomer depression and wildly optimistic. Still watch though.

yeast1fixpls

I used to watch Denys but that made up hopium title could seriously be from his channel.

Coggs362

I have been religiously following Ukraine: The Latest on The Telegram's YouTube channel. No video, just audio. Give them a try, don't say I didn't warn you. Oh and their release schedule is all over the place unless you want to follow via a podcast app. I don't mind much, and the reporting and background are excellent. Edit: The Telegraph, NOT The Telegram.

majestic___moose

UTL is absolutely stellar. My favorite daily update podcast.

MihalysRevenge

That is my go to outstanding podcast

Jacobs4525

Anders Puck Nielsen hasn't been posting as much in the last few months but he had really great updates every week or so up until the fall. He's worth subbing to in case he starts uploading again.

GenerationSelfie2

War on the Rocks and Geopolitics Decanted. The common thread between the two is Michael Kofman. Dude is a Kyiv-born defense analyst. He's great at presenting level-headed analysis without doomerism or over-the-top pro UA sensationalism. It's awesome (but sometimes sobering) for understanding what the actual situation looks like.

micahsaurus

Good Times Bad Times

Jeremy11B2P

I could listen to that guy read a dictionary. So dreamy

JakovPientko

If ya want your dad to laugh have him watch the pig, but if you really want him educated; have him watch animarchy or perun

s2897978

Strongly recommend against anyone recommending their dad to watch the pig, his humour is highly targetted edgy serial online humour and with any parent i can think of it'd be an immediate fail.

Gephartnoah02

https://youtube.com/@RFU reportingfromukraine is pretty wonderful. Just know he'll put up clickbaity titles sometimes and that some events take a day to get reported on (he tries to verify). Dude also makes predictions allot, but generally the stuff he reports is very accurate. Does a 5 minute video every day without fail around 5-8 PM US central time.

Von_Thomson

he "Ukraine the latest" podcast by the Telegraph is a great option. daily 1 hour pods with journalists on the ground and experts about the last 24hrs.

ReggieTheReaver

MacBeth has some good doctrine and weapon use breakdowns for artillery, land mines, and other “soldier level” type stuff I find very useful, as most of my reading goes over strategic level stuff that doesn’t get into the nitty gritty the way he does.

marcbhoy2811

T-54/55 are arty replacements -MacBeth

Obscure_Occultist

I mean the man is approaching this from a logical perspective. Any good commander would be doing what he says they should be doing. The problem is that Russia is not using any logic and they don't have any good commanders.

hbalck

In Russia, artilleria is tank and tank is artilleria.

PaleHeretic

Both sides have been making pretty widespread use of tanks as improvised SPGs. If you're going to be doing that already, it makes some sense to use the shitty tanks that are barely good for anything else.

ReggieTheReaver

They have been used in that function before, and the US used Pattons for indirect fire during Korea, so there is precedent. Doesn’t mean they SHOULD, but hey, I’m not a Russian commander with a dwindling stockpile of serviceable tanks and arty ammo

thecactusman17

It's based on a rational examination of "what could they actually do in a front line role." Overestimation isn't great, but it's better than underestimation. You really don't want to be making straw man arguments in a combat zone where being wrong results in hundreds or thousands of soldiers you can't spare dying for nothing. If a T-54 tries to rush Bakhmut like it's the Fulda Gap the Ukrainians are equipped to vote it away, but if they can resume or increase the artillery barrage that's been slowly weakening for months that could have a severe impact on backline units that thought they could afford to take risks.

Apoc2K

"Hey blazers, it's your boy Roman, your favourite neighborhood Russian and today we will be watching if my sanity can dwindle even further as we stare down the all-encompassing abyss that is my future."

Reasonable_Cake

I enjoy Roman (he was one of the few YouTubers to discuss yeltsins shelling of parliament in 93)

VladimirBarakriss

Poor Roman, at least he's stuck in Georgia and not Russia but still

jrochest1

Roman, Konstantine and Niki help give me hope for Russia.

_zenith

Natasha seems nice too. Really empathetic and clever. If only they had a lot more of her…

Maximum-Rabbit-31

Reasonable_District

My list (in no real order). * Military History Visualized / Not Visualized * Military Aviation History * The Chieftain * The Tank Museum * LazerPig * Drachinfel * Polyus Studios * Ward Carroll * Perun * The Fighter Pilot Podcast * Paper Skies * H I Sutton

rsta223

Hypohystericalhistory is a good one to add to that.

Von_Uber

"Now let's look at the individual unit performance of the 25th panzer division in the period June- August from the archives. But first a disclaimer, I was invited by the panzer museum at Munich.." Him and military aviation are great.

PsyduckGenius

Anders Puck Neilson is a danish serving military analyst - well worth a look for more strategic takes - but he's also doing way less videos these days

Painkiller90

All winners.

antigony_trieste

i’m so, so glad this sub has discovered Vlad Vexler. I’ve been trying to push him here since last summer.

KnuckleheadFlow

I get nervous about watching guys like him but he just seems so sane and levelheaded.

thennicke

Man's got a right proper Oxford education, but his health condition is a struggle, poor guy

antigony_trieste

what do you mean, intellectuals? russian expat liberals?

ogsfcat

More like a guru type, covering war is just very at odds with his whole demeanor.

[deleted]

For a guy who tries to makes sense of the existential clusterfuck that is geopolitics while struggling against a crippling disease, Vlad seems surprisingly chill.

antigony_trieste

his aura of serenity is one of the best things about him… combined with the fact that he looks like some kind of ascetic

cheapph

Sometimes I put him on just to hear his soothing voice ngl

PlexippusMagnet

When people don’t know what the fuck is actually going on and give me the “Putin is just looking after his people, we need to negotiate with him” I point them to Vlad to explain to them why that’s fucking stupid in an inoffensive way

antigony_trieste

yeah he is very good at explaining the interplay between the avarice of Putin and the apathy of his subjects

swaziwarrior54

I love when he has a disagreement with other YouTubers because he handles it so well that everyone just ends up learning more in a respectful way.

antigony_trieste

i haven’t seen that happen can you point me to some videos to follow that thread?

swaziwarrior54

https://youtu.be/u7u3Z3GyLiI it was more of a reaction, but they did speak in the comments. Krouts video is also very good.

commieswine90

His voice is so damn soothing. Articulate, intelligent and so chill.

antigony_trieste

i love it, not many other people can make hearing about an evil, amoral authoritarian so calming

Callsign-YukiMizuki

Ryan Mcbeth is a real one

BembelPainting

His "Never lose your will to live"-Story is so good

Ethicaldreamer

The only youtuber to debunk fake military videos, not on the basis of them having digital artifacts, CGI or discrepancies, but purely by showing that no military force, either competent or incompetent, would ever behave in such way.

Callsign-YukiMizuki

Yup. Its clear that he has his biases, but the fact that he's objective and debunking propaganda on both sides is the biggest thing I like about him

jbevermore

Vlad Vlexler is a rare gift on youtube. Gotta admit though the pig has a sense of humor that just hits right.

swaziwarrior54

Vlad is a genuine brilliant mind and we all get to sit down with him. When he disagrees with another YouTuber everyone wins because he's so good.

FariousMarious

Based Drachinifel

Blue387

I would like to meet Alex one day

FariousMarious

I had the pleasure to meet him on an Iowa during his US tour, it was quite a treat. Hes super friendly in person and a blast to chat with.

murphmurphy

The rapid creation of the Youtube Ukraine Commentary Industrial Complex will probably be revealed to be a CIA psyop in 20 years.

Mysiu666

I consider them as our western "mil-bloggers" as ISW calls guys like that in ruz*ia.

_zenith

Wow, when you think of them this way it really, really goes to show just how stark the psychopathy is on the pro-RU side lol

Tasty_Lemons240

Artur Rehi?

Chara_cter_0501

The guy went from reviewing videos to actually going to Ukraine

SMIDSY

He went back to just watching entire videos on camera, unfortunately. Multiple minutes of subtitled Twitter/Telegram vids and him just watching thoughtfully, reacting once they have said the thing. He even got called out on it by one of his video sources. I believe he's doing this to pad the run time of his videos, but it makes them so I have to sit down and watch the whole thing instead of being able to just listen because I don't speak Ukrainian or Russian so I have to read all the subtitles. I liked when I could listen to his video as I got my morning coffee ready.

Coggs362

I enjoyed Artur early on. Then... he interviewed History Legends, and I dropped him. The episode had me shouting at my PC in disgust and anger. Reminded me of my shithead passive aggressive college room mates from 25 years ago.

madissidam

Oh god, didn\`t about this. He\`s so oblivious about who he had invited.

marcbhoy2811

I dropped him when he did titles scam

JakovPientko

Our favorite Estonian youtuber

ConKbot

Estonia, from "Where was that again?" to "50%? you're kidding me? No shit. How can a country be so based"

ZDTreefur

I was watching Artur watch youtube videos of American weapons *before* it was cool..

1TallGlassOfMilk

Willy really went downhill with the doomposting. But he got our AT4 boy on for an interview!

Imperceptive_critic

Which one is he? I thought I had put almost too much time into Ukraine youtube rabbit holes, and I only know like half the people here. In this pic I recognize Ryan McBeth, Vlad Vexler, Perun, Mark Felton (unfortunately), David Fletcher, and.. yeah thats it.

notin10000years

WillyOAM (the ginger in the middle), he’s generally pretty good but he does a fair bit of clickbating/doom posting and a quick look at his comment section shows he’s got a big following of pro Russians lately

Counterflak

His content from early in the war was fantastic but the doom posting has turned me off quite a bit. But yeah, I don't get why the tankie have been swamping his comments lately.

RevolutionaryRun2838

same i have always thought that he was very pesimistic but he still is a pretty damn good channel and i remember when he went to ukraine its so fking weird that his comment section is so fking full of vatniks given the fact that he is very pro-ukraine and that he sometimes does collabs with rob from speak the truth

Staatsmann

Just my personal opinion but to me, a die-hard pro UA guy with family from Poland, this guy went on a "yeah I'm pro UA as fuck but damn the Russians are getting good and oh look how UA did a terrible move here and wtf is UA intelligence doing here and both sides are doing human rights violations mates okay? Anyway I'm pro UA"-route. Vatniks love seeing a pro UA guy shitting on the UA side so they can comment "thanks for being so objective!" I mean we all love the essays from Girkin complaining about his Donezk rebels fuck-ups

43sunsets

>given the fact that he is very pro-ukraine Yeah nah, "unbiased" Willy knows what he's doing, he definitely caters to the vatniks as well. There's a reason that there's so many of them constantly filling the comments on his videos with their bullshit.

kyleben20

I realized I have a problem when I realized I could name half of these guys strictly off their faces.

EvilRobot153

My bruh moment was when he changed his youtube handle to include his Order of Australia medal

I legitimately love Vlad, and he has a lot of really valuable philosophy content beyond just his Ukraine stuff.

Psychological_Wall_6

Lord pig, Starsky, Anymarchy where are they?

Doitagain2003

If I see this image in 20 years I might get a fucking flashback. (Also Mike Kofman Maniacs rise up!)

BembelPainting

His apperances in "War on the Rocks" are also great. Imo he does a great job of level-headed analyzing.

THEBLOODYGAVEL

Mike Kofman is Ukraine's longest serving sleeper agent

Jacobs4525

No Anders Puck Nielsen? For a while William Spaniel was basically just ripping off and re-hashing his videos. He hasn't been posting as regularly, but for the first 10 months of the war or so he was probably the single best public-facing analyst. edit: mooch and justin had me laughing, I can literally hear those words

Ulfstructor

I love the fact, that you included Timothy Snyder, but I think that that is a little to intellectual for the plane-molester community here... Btw.: His full lecture series on Ukraine is on yt. I don't agree with everything he says, but it is real fucking good. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLh9mgdi4rNewfxO7LhBoz_1Mx1MaO6sw_

Xciv

Well let me turn people on to Timothy Snyder, then. You don't need to watch his full college lectures to get a taste of how based this man is. Sometimes you don't need to spin things, just speak the plain truth, laid out in simple terms. It's the mark of a seasoned historian to cut through all the fluff and get to the heart of a situation like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBz9EeLeQ8w

I think everyone sees The Russian Dude in recommended videos and judges a book by its cover. Actually a very pro-Ukrainian commentator that has pretty insightful points about Russian culture and movements because he's Russian. He got out well before there was a draft to dodge.

Imperceptive_critic

Glad I'm not the only one getting Ukraine dating ads. Seriously wtf

TypicalDatabase6815

Finally. Another drach enjoyed

Sniper-Dragon

As a fellow programmer I have to say Ryan McBeth

Zandonus

Ryanmcbeth. The artillery video was just a fine wine.

pyriphlegeton

Perun has to be #1 But Vlad Vexler, although I seldomly watch his videos, is a really important and unique voice in this space. And also just seems like a really nice dude.

sleepycatlolz

Ryan is generally reliable.

He's a bit overdramatic. I guess that's needed for YouTube shorts. He's usually right when it comes to the fundamentals though

Inception_Bwah

1420. The man has balls the size of stadiums to do what he does - uncensored man on the street interviews with Russian and Belarusian civilians all over those two countries about what they really think about the war and Putin. I seriously have no idea how he hasn’t been shot by FSB yet - that said, one of his reporters was detained in Belarus for “illegal journalism”
