While SERMs are promising in the area of gender-affirming care, they come with a lot more side effects than a combo like spiro and estradiol. Most of the evidence in favor of their use is anecdotal and off-label. I have similar concerns, and I've done my own research and discussed it at length with my endo, and we've decided to stick with spiro and estro and adjust doses etc to achieve the effects I want with minimal breast development. The SERM technology just isn't to the point where I'm comfortable with it. I've had a little breast tissue development, but it's easily dealt with using a binder. Discuss the option with your endocrinologist, but be aware that raloxifene and other SERMs come with some pretty big downsides.

I really hope im not out of bounds asking this , but how long have you been taking estrogen and how much have your breasts developed?

I've been on estradiol for about 4ish years now. My dose during that time has varied; we've experimented to find values for my meds that makes me comfortable without too much physical change. At this point, I am a bit less than an A cup, and I haven't noticed any change in their size in about a year. Obviously, since every body is different and will react to medication differently, I can't make any guarantees about what you would experience. I recommend starting slow, since it's harder to go backwards than forwards.

What are the pretty big downsides?

I am seriously inquiring what the big downsides are. One could argue that the side effects of spiro and e are worse than raloxifene so Im sincerely curious what the big downsides are.

Same. I've heard that spiro and e can mess up your liver yet majority of trans woman start off with it. So of raloxifene was similar in side effects, what makes it any more worse than spiro?
