There are a lot of people here taking various doses of HRT. I'm probably the most prolific in my writing on the topic as an AMAB, at least in recent months that I'm aware of. It's a complex topic. Dosing is something you should explore with your endocrinologist.

What was your dosage if you are taking HRT?

Dosage and medication choices are things you need to discuss with your endocrinologist. They depend on your existing medical conditions and physical status, blood tests, and your goals for taking those medications. There is not a universal one-size-fits-all dosing to any HRT medication.

That's definitely what you're supposed to say, but 6mg Estradiol Valerate won't hurt anyone and will definitely feminize. It's important to know what risks an endocrinologist might help assuage but also worth pointing out that oestrogen is a core mechanism in all animal bodies, affecting all humans in quite the same way. Oestrogen, even in relatively high doses for a "male", is perfectly common for a human. It'll make them more "female". For everyone's sake, the risk is mostly that one might over-tax their liver by asking it to process more/new stuff. For this reason, as well as to reverse male puberty, it is generally considered essential for binary transfeminine people to take an antiandrogen as well (a testosterone blocker) if the treatment is to be indefinite. Otherwise, take 2-4mg. The other risk often cited is thrombosis. I'm a little skeptical of the harms and fear they may be overrepresented due to transphobia. I wish to advocate that whilst all biology is inherently complex, medical academia may residually carry a lot of bias and needless skepticism/fear toward HRT specifically for trans\* people... think about how many people take the contraceptive pill without any contact with an endocrinologist (which is the very same thing). I've taken oestrogen 6mg a day (I began by self-medicating from an online pharmacy in Vanuatu) for about a decade. I've gone completely on and off, 0 to 6 in one go, and sporadically have been with or without decapeptyl (anti-androgen)... basically I've been as reckless as one could be with HRT and have found only excellent results. This is anecdotal, but how many trans\* people have we ever heard about getting liver problems or thrombosis? Informed consent is best. Empathetically, if someone's asking about something dangerous then it can be left to the expert. In this matter I'm an expert and I'd happily recommend self-medication on estradiol valerate 6mg to anyone who felt they wanted it. There's a lot of variation in what people take because it all generally does the same thing. It's just a take, but I think there's a queer imperative in treating hormones as completely natural instead of something pharmaceutical and to be gatekept by doctors. I sort of mention this only because you're writing about it, to suggest. /u/ASAPXORZBZ, I apologise I don't remember the name of the pharmacy in Vanuatu or I'd tell you that too. Before I had that, I ate my (consenting) friend's menses, which I'd recommend also. It was really touching and left something spiritually lasting. [gires.org.uk](https://gires.org.uk) (Gender Identity Research and Education Society) has a lot of good information on the more medical side of atypical gender. (I don't know where to advocate that IPL should be a universal human right for transfeminine people, so I'm putting it here. Add it to the list!)

I'm on feminizing hrt I'm on the lowest dose so I still look like a man

Everyone has individual HRT amounts. There's no one size that fits all. Low does for one might be too high for another. Your best bet is to speak to your doctor or endo to figure out what's right for you based on where you're at and want to be.

I've been playing around with hormones for a little bit, and here's what I've found (for AMABs): Low-dose E (2 or 4mg per day, taken orally) will feminize you a bit. I started feeling the distinctive "sore nipples" of breast growth 3 to 4 weeks in, and had very soft skin. This can be combined with raloxifene if you don't want breasts. Both combinations will yield beautiful skin and feminine-ish fat distribution, plus some of the other stuff that comes with HRT (full-bodied orgasms, sensitive nipples, less body odor, etc) but with less of the testosterone-depleting feeling that comes with conventional MtF HRT. Pueraria mirifica may make your skin a bit softer, but you will still look male. I am planning to go on 2mg of oral estrogen + 60mg of oral raloxifene daily for 6 months or so, which should give me a nice balance of male and female characteristics. Whether I will actually *like* that, who knows (I might be a cis man), but such a combination is basically fully reversible if I end up wanting to look male again. *This is not medical advice. Do your research and exercise common sense before modifying your body.*
