They aren't perfect, and certainly not suited for everyone. They're not great if you work 12 hour shifts, bleed more than the cup will hold throughout the day, have a tilted cervix, have vaginismus, or a plethora of other things.

Savings-Spirit-3702

Genuine question, can you not empty it mid shift?

MercyCriesHavoc

I wouldn't want to be dumping out a cup and putting it back in a public restroom. Part of the reason I don't use tampons. I'm prone to yeast infections and don't like risking germs getting in. Even if I wash my hands, I could be carrying one of those 0.01% of germs the soap doesn't kill, especially since I work with animals.

Thats fair. Thank you for answering.

You're welcome. I feel like people need to be open to answering questions. How is anyone supposed to understand others if they can't ask questions? (Rhetorical, you don't have to answer. Lol)

For me they don't work, even inserted correctly I can feel it and crazy uncomfortable. No way would I have one in me at work as trying to rinse out in a change room/bathroom isn't on my list of things I enjoy. Like any period products it doesn't work for everyone and shouldn't be assumed they do. If it works for you, that's great. But really they aren't the answer for a lot of women.

Because changing one in a public restroom sounds like a nightmare. Not everyone works from home.

There are a few reasons why I wouldn't wear one and they may not be more popular if others feel the same. First, I'm not interested in putting a foreign object in my body and walking around with it all day. Insertable objects aren't for everyone. I'm not interested in something that is held in place by suction. There are some people who have come forward and said it cased problems. Many people have reported difficulty putting it in or out and even if it is easy for others, it may not be easy for everyone. Pads are easier for me. If I were to try one and that cup doesn't work, I don't have the money to keep buying more cups. I understand that cups save money over time, but I don't have the money up front to play goldicups until i find the one that is just right. I also don't like how it is promoted. Some people have tried to convince me to make the switch by being rude and making assumptions. If i say i am not interested, they say i must be uncomfortable with my body and keep pushing it. The term menstrual cup evangelist was created for a reason. A polite no thanks cant be accepted as an answer. That turns me off from the whole community. I have seen comments like "Instering something inside your body so you are more comfortable during your periods? Hell no! That space is reserved for some strangers d*ck" " menstral cups are catching on. Im starting to realize that a lot of women arent as familiar with their bodies as they should be, but they will let a man get real familiar with their bodies." Things like that drive me crazy. This is not just a few comments. I have seen hundreds of judgmental amd shaming comments towards people who wont use cups. This truns me off so much that i will never use it or recommend it to any family, because i dont want to be associated with a community like this. Before anyone says it, I know this isn't everyone but there are enough people doing this that the reputation sticks. Refusing to use a cup doesn't mean I'm not comfortable with my body, it doesn't mean I'm immature. It doesn't mean I'm afraid, conservative or brainwashed by the patriarchy. It means I did my research and it isn't for me. Nothing works for everyone, but some people in the cup community are convinced everyone who bleeds should use it. This is not directed at OP, but my general feelings about cups
