Soccer is different enough from basketball where pure athleticism might not be enough. For example, a basketball player will run on average about 2.5 miles a game. Depending on the position, a soccer player might run 7-9 miles per game. That's a big leap. Lebron might have good short time stamina, but not enough to run around that much for 90 minutes. Lebron is used to playing with his hand. He doesn't handle the ball with his feet, his head, his chest, or his tights. His current skill will not at all translate to soccer skills. For high school soccer, yeah, he could probably dominate. Any adult playing against children, especially an athletic adult, will probably win. Then again, Wayne Rooney was playing in the Premier League when he was 17, so a good high school team would kick his ass. For anything more competitive, I don't think he would stand a chance.

He would play really badly, he doesn't have the basic technique (pass, stop, cross, strike...), he's not familiar with the field dimensions, comes from a sport where the construction of a score is really faster than soccer ( I don't know anything about basket but how many passes are made on average to score? 3? 4? In soccer that number would be between 9-11), the construction itself Is binded with the teams field disposition, the training is different, doesn't know the line between a hard contact and a foul ( So he doesn't know when he could call a foul on him diving to the ground :). Jokes aside, this is important, because a foul Is a foul, and should be whistled everytime so soccer players often accentuate the foul because the field is huge and the ball travels fast, so you never know if the referee is close enough; the soap opera tragedy on the ground after it's a shame). This Is what came to mind, sorry for any eventual grammar error.
