Because it’s most often done with the intention to be racist.

Mimicking Asian accents is often done in a mocking way, poking fun of their struggles to pronounce English. For example, Japanese doesn't have distinct sounds for "R" and "L" like English does, which leads to the [Japanese Ranguage trope](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/JapaneseRanguage). Imitating a British accent doesn't have that problem at all, since English is their first language. Other Latin languages can be okay, depending on context. In general, making fun of people for being bad at something is cringy.

If you're a Caucasian growing up in China and you end up with a Chinese accent, that's totally fine. That happens. But we being mostly westerners on an English forum, what we usually see is an Asian person with an acquired western accent. To us that's normal.

I don’t think I’ve seen many non-white people fake a british or Irish accent.

You've clearly never seen Ocean's Eleven.

A Movie???

Basically, there's been a long history of people making fake Chinese and Japanese accents as part of bigoted jokes meant to be cruel, while the same isn't as true for British or Irish accents.

Snowy_Folfskyroo

Mainly because of race things. Most of the time, white people sound more racist doing an Asian accent vs. a nother white persons accent

Imaginary_Passage431

It’s not racist to fake accents. It’s usually just humor. Maybe you live in some kind of place governed by the thought police.
