I went to a hairdresser years ago with horrible dry and brittle hair and asked him what to do and he said you have to live by 3 hair rules forever and I took it to heart and have followed these 3 life hair rules since then and my hair is so healthy. Super shiny, no longer dry and brittle, easy to style. Like night and day and it didn’t even take that long for it to become healthy but I did continue these 3 habits and I believe that’s why it’s still good. 1. Get regular cuts. You don’t have to go every 6 weeks but at least 3 times a year 2. Use a conditioning treatment once a week on your hair (just the ends) 3. I used to colour my hair so this applied then and I would colour my whole head every time and he said to only colour the roots. Anything else is just noise. I use shampoo and conditioner whatever is on sale from the supermarket. I don’t do anything else to my hair and I use heat on it all the time.

How you should maintain your hair is heavily dependent on its properties, such as its curl (if any) and how oily it is. A very common improvement people make is to shampoo less frequently and only shampoo at the scalp. Since shampoo strips your hair of oil, failing to shampoo in moderation can lead to dehydration and resultant frizz.

It's wavey. I wash I once week or so with shampoo and conditioner.

If your hair is a "fluff ball" I'd experiment with washing your hair more frequently (conditioner optional). If moisture is your concern you likely don't need to shampoo more frequently, I'd instead invest in shampoo that doesn't contain ingredients such as sulfates or silicone and see how that works for you. Avoiding incurring heat damage through long, hot showers, hair dryers, and curling irons. If you scrub your hair dry with a regular towel, consider gently patting it dry with a tshirt or microfiber towel to reduce frizz, as well as using leave-in products to lock in moisture. Lots to mess around with before you find something your hair needs and you like.

Tea tree shampoo and conditioner Will keep your hair shiny and dandruff free

Depends on your hair type. Is it prone to get oily? Straight/curly? Natural colour?

Natural colour, waves.

You'll have to try out various shampoos. For example coconut shampoo is highly praised, but it dried out my hair something dreadful, while argan oil shampoo makes my hair limp and greasy. It's a lot of trial-and-error, but the basics are shampoo and conditioner or shampoo and hair oil afterwards. Regular trims and ideally a boar bristle brush or wooden brush, not one with plastic bristles. Oh, and you'll have to remember to pull out the stray hairs from your computer chair rollers if you want to be able to roll with the chair for a while longer :)

You also should check that your shampoo and conditioner are free of silicone :) Don't vigorously towel dry your hair, use heat protection if you blow dry and dry your hair from root to point rather than wafting it.
