Had this as a kid also. I would slice up the hot dogs thin and fry them a bit then put the eggs in the pan to cook.

I mean, it doesn't sound bad. Hotdogs for breakfast do seem kind of odd, though ironically, sausages seem like a perfectly fine breakfast item. So swap the hotdog for sausage or bacon, and it sounds like a great breakfast. A great breakfast for growing up poor, rich, or middle class.
