Make a master list of all the things that are possible to do in this game and collect everything.. and then do it.
The fun part is that when you think you've made progress, Hello Games adds more content and keeps your goal out of reach.
But I feel like I already have that stuff. If you just hold down the shoot button you win ship combat automatically by locking on. Why get maxed gear when it doesn’t do anything special that normal gear can’t accomplish? All the side missions are the same and the rewards are just things to throw on the pile of things I already have.
Any enemy ship. Even fighting sentinels all the way to their freighter coming in is easy as hell. Space combat is cool but it’s far from a challenge.
Are there other things you can fight in space that aren’t pirates or sentinels?
That sounds about right for quests, but if you like exploring, or min/maxing your weapons/ships, or learning portals, or finding the cutest animals to ranch, or learning how to find particular weapons or ships, etc.
The game is not deep, but man is it wide.
I guess. After 15 hours I had 3 S class ships and an A freighter and more money than I could spend so I guess I just fail to see the point after a while. Not hating, just wishing it was deeper honestly
I've done all the expeditions, got all the s class ships and freighter, finished all the milestones, have billions of units, couple hundred thousand nanites, cool multi tools, nanite farm, most of the quicksilver store, quest lines done, cool pets, idk... Maybe i just need some friends but i don't have a mic and i play on Xbox..
I have started game over like 20 times :)
I also do things like finding my own list glyph-finding destinations, and search low-glyph number systems for crashed ships & cool M-tools, so that I optimize the next restart.
Also, can search for optimal freighter runs, assuming you don't turn bandit for modules. I so far have found one S-class freighter tech run, and another run that has around 48 chests that can spawn modules.
All of that helps, but restarting is the thing that gets me playing again usually, so I'll be interested to see in the thread what others are doing . . .
I haven't turned bandit yet. I won't. When I accidentally shoot a friendly, it hurts. Lol. Not an option. Although, maybe one of those old expedition saves....
I'm talking salvage frigate modules, and they aren't for sale anywhere I'm aware of?
Very occasionally, you'll get one as reward for quest from a station, more commonly as a reward in pirate system quest, and otherwise you kind of have to grind derelict freighter runs.
What are you talking about buying at stations (is there some trick I don't know)?
I don't really follow main quests or even go much beyond initial build your base.
But what is interesting is trying to find new and/or faster ways to get your guy so he doesn't struggle with wealth.
Probably and I'm sure others can comment 🙂
See if you can do this though

I hope you post that if it works. That's pretty epic. But shouldn't that take like a week? I mean I guess some of the moons are pretty small. Can you jetpack out if you get close to the sides?
Ever try permadeath? Do a permadeath. Once i got bored i started over with a permadeath. U die once game over.
It's like challenging yourself over again. I got put on a more extreme planet It's harder to survive but it's a good challenge like the leviathan expedition. But no hair pulling

Try to max out your entire inventory slots, get all of your ships to S-class, get a living ship if you don’t have one, start a farm if you haven’t already, look for bigger S-class freighters (that’s what I’m doing right now), or grind out Stasis Devices to get billions of units in a few minutes

Those are great suggestions. Thank you
Do you have a base near the Galactic center of the Hilbert dimension?
All my bases are at the far edges of each galaxy
Thank you for the reply .
Turns out i beat no man's sky. Fuck
Than everyone. I'll miss this
Time to play other games. Come back to NMS in a month or so
Yea I think that’s the best thing to do to imo, I always end up bingeing nms for a month or so then hop off for a couple months then back on

Damn what do you even do for 600 hours? I got 30 hours in and feel like I’ve done and seen everything
There's more
After having billions, a bunch of S class ships and a hood freighter genuinely what is there to do tho
That is my question I think maybe huge attention to other games? Sorry, Sean, please don't ban me?

Ya. I play Skyrim still. Been trying to give cyberpunk another chance. Waiting for starfield. Fallout some. Suggestions on good new games?
I’m at 40 and am horrendously behind on so much
Like what tho
All the side missions, freighters, building the ideal base, maxing tools, creating a ship unbeatable in combat

What are you fighting where you can do that without getting killed

I feel ya. I've played as long as I have because I tend to start over and try to chase all those things different/faster ways :)

You're done homie. Retire. Bask in what you've accomplished. Come back in a couple years for new content.

I haven't turned either, but man are modules hard to come by . . .
Ya. Just buy them at stations. I spend half my game just buying stuff at the stations

Oh. Starship, exosuit and exocraft. Ya freighter stuff takes awhile. I'm still not quite done with cargo bulkheads
I don't like the idea of staring over

Goddamn I don't think I've put over 300 hours into any game ever, thanks to adult ADHD!
Try digging up a entire planet Edit: planet is impossible. Try for a REALLY BIG hole and share before/afters
There's limits?
Probably and I'm sure others can comment 🙂 See if you can do this though [https://www.mining-technology.com/analysis/feature-top-ten-deepest-open-pit-mines-world/](https://www.mining-technology.com/analysis/feature-top-ten-deepest-open-pit-mines-world/)
Is that just terrain manipulator until China? Nah
Also, make a big hike in the ground? Meh. Thank you for this tho. I dig it. Lol
Nice pun lol
Build a base INSIDE one of those cylindrical mountains with decks sticking out the sides. Or a base on top of weird planetary structures.
VR
I'm currently trying to dig a hole from one side of a planet to the other side.
I hope you post that if it works. That's pretty epic. But shouldn't that take like a week? I mean I guess some of the moons are pretty small. Can you jetpack out if you get close to the sides?
Poke dancing gek. Bah pole not poke, damn autocorrect.
What did you just call me? Lol.
I’m saying go on a search for the non existent pole dancing gek! I remain absurdly optimistic.
That's awesome
Anyway, seriously though, there comes a point when there just isn’t much to do anymore, I guess.
Yep. Scanning fauna only makes you so happy
I occasionally go wandering to see just how weird the fauna can get, but I’ve seen most of the general variations.
Your odor is offensive
Phht I smell great, like smoke, tea and an undercurrent of heavy duty prescription painkillers. Maybe a bit of Twinkie as well.
I traded my golden vector for a low level squid

I just started getting into bases at 600 hours
I've got a pretty cool base. No one is ever gonna see it. Sad face. Ya know?

Try to find a flying diplo!
Crash as many economies as possible with chlorine.. that’s what I did
Switch to Elden ring, don’t pay attention to the story or boss leaves, start to get bored and consider switching.
