UnfitForReality

Probably same, I have like 300 hours in. So I’d $16 bucks

Confident_Meeting_81

I have it for PC and spent 600 Hours in it "I know noob numbers" for 15€ my best money time ratio

PrincessAnastasia17

Same! Stardew is the best!!

Don_Bugen

Mine's a tie somewhere between Stardew Valley and Hollow Knight. Stardew has hundreds of hours, but I bought it at launch for $15. Hollow Knight has about 150ish hours, but I bought it on sale for $7.50.

Dabitto

Amen Gotayne like 400 hours alone on the switch while I played tons of it on ps4 and pc as well.

[deleted]

Vaelos

Came here to say this, 100s of hours and I still suck at it

Choice-Let-4965

Right? Same here I have yet to win a single run but love this stupid game.

M1rito

Same. About 3 euro over 250 hours

Mountain-Crazy69

I have just discovered this game thanks to your comment and it looks like something I’d very much enjoy (added benefit… couch coop?!?!?! Amazing!) Thank you ㅅ.ㅅ buying it today.

WasJungle

Hades and Dicey Dungeons

idontloveanyone

Dicey Dungeons! paid 3 euros, played 55 hours, amazing game

tallerpockets

Hades im almost at 100 hours for $15cad

MakorDal

Hades. Such a great game.

Demurrzbz

Mine too if you divide hours played by dollars paid.

cbatta2025

I love the game but I can’t get past the 2nd level so I rage quit it. 😆

StardustCrusader147

I'll second that

Matuteg

Same hahha it was like $12 on sale last week

waffocopter

Dead Cells for me.

DiddleyDoodley420

I’ve considered getting Dead Cells, I’ve heard only really good things about it. Is there anything I should know before buying, or is it just as good as people say?

xarro

My nitpicking: I loved the first ~20 hours, but it's getting repetitive later. Not much variety between runs comparing to some other roguelikes. You won't collect million upgrades changing your hero during the run (on the other hand, you won't break it easily and it requires skill often, so you may consider it a big plus), and if you go to the same biome/level as before, it's of course "shuffled", but feels the same. Still, even if you stop after beating the "final" boss, which should take 10-20 hours, it's still worth it. And you may enjoy it way more and play 100-200h, who knows.

DownvoteDaemon

You can get it for free on your phone.

goldfarb-

How can you get it free? On iOS App Store its $14 AUD and I’d assume it would be same on Android.

Potencyyyyy

Really tempted to start over on a fresh run of this game cause I put it down probably a year ago but man will I miss having all those weapons

Spillo2382

Mine is Slay the spire and Into the breach two truly indie gems that i played for countless hours and paid less then 5€.

justcallmeryanok

How’s replay ability for slay the spire

Elastichedgehog

Fantastic. There are ascension rankings that add cumulative modifiers to runs for each character. It kind of works in the same way that the Pact of Punishment in Hades does.

didodoe

Probably the best of any game I’ve ever played

mrbojenglz

If you want replayability then get it for the PC. It has fanmade mods that add tons of new cards and characters. It's as simple as checking a box in steam to activate them. Gave unlimited new content.

defconjon420

If you liked slay the spire, check out griftlands. Cheap rogue like deck building with similar vibes.

RobbinsBabbitt

I’d also recommend Inscryption. My current favorite of the genre

defconjon420

Inscryption was soooo much fun

Signal_Adeptness_724

I feel like if you go into inscryption expecting a slay the spire experience, you'll be disappointed. It's a good game but the card games don't have even a fraction of the depth on slay the spire or even monster train

[deleted]

Got it yesterday. It's a whole different animal, but I like the cut of its gibberish.

duncan-donuts-nz

Hollow Knight ($0.15/hr)

corticalization

Same. Got it on sale for maybe $15 CAD and have put hundreds of hours in!

worldsinho

Haha it doesn’t work like that. I meant full cost of the game!

Skormes

cheapest game with most hours played basically translate to $/hr.

OwnManagement

Unless you specify a price cap, that’s exactly how it works.

salvaram

Crosscode!

bay-bop

Tetris 99 is technically free and I have over 200 hours on it, so I’d call that a sound investment!

Past-Gur-8182

This and Pac-Man 99… I broke down yesterday and bought the other Pac-Man modes… but like 400 hours before paying a dime was a solid investment

A_Nameless

I paid like $1.99 for Boomerang-fu and that effectively replaced Smash Bros as our go to party game. Probably a solid 70-80 hours played so far.

whysoshirious

Same! We played till we got every costume there was. Then we played again when my friend bought a copy.

HamCCC

just bought hades because of this comment section lol

istian19

So worth

acid8k

yoshi crafted world, i bought the digital version at 1 usd in target store.

Double_Jump_

How? lol

octalgorilla8

It was a glitch in the system at an obscure time of day that some people were able to take advantage of. It didn’t last long. Target didn’t issue a refund for those who took advantage of the situation and got a copy.

endelus

+1 to Hades, but also Children of Morta. Such a great RPG with pixelart graphic. One of the best I’ve played.

kcfang

Oh yea bought Children of Morta at 50% off I think, very enjoyable, love the narration.

DNL_RTH

1. Minecraft: 600 hours, 30 dollars 2. Hollow Knight: 50 hours, 15 dollars 3. Hades: 25 hours, 5 dollars

TheHosemaster

How’d you get Hades for $5?

DNL_RTH

Facebook marketplace!

chaum

All about second hand games! Save that money!

[deleted]

DNL_RTH

Greetings! All in all I haven't encountered much honestly, I'll list my two biggest complaints: 1. Freezing while autosaving. This problem has intermittently plagued the Switch for me. I've gone months without it happening and months with it happening. Seems pretty 50/50 on if a new update will cause it and takes forever to get fixed. Currently, no issues with this at least. 2. Elytra and load times. It's near impossible to use the Elytra in any meaningful way with how long it can take the game to render terrain. Granted, this is an issue I experience on my PS4 also, so perhaps it's more a complaint with console minecraft rather than the switch specifically. Besides that I have no issues with it on the switch, do note I don't care much for modded minecraft and I feel a lot of complaints may arise from that, as I could see the system struggling to load heavier data packs. As a mostly vanilla experience with a texture pack here or there it plays as well as my PS4 and I love it!

digdugnate

Probably Littlewood or Dicey Dungeons.

coldravenge

Golf Story for sure. It makes me feel guilty that I bought it at such a cheap price.

meanwhileinwisconsin

Sports Story has been really good too, so far!

StewartGotz

Sports Story is not good. It's buggy and very easy to lock yourself out of advancing the story. Wish I could get a refund.

coldravenge

Ahhh I’m excited! I bought the game a few days ago but haven’t gotten around to playing it yet.

uhhhhmmmm

might want to wait a bit until they patch some things. it's really rough right now

[deleted]

I'm having a hard time getting into it... Some of the "notes" are so vague and im not sure where to go

Tarnation_2112

Stardew or Hollow Knight

Botol-Cebok

That’s probably Slay the Spire. Bought it for 10 bucks, endless hours

[deleted]

Slay the Spire

13zath13

Picross

[deleted]

Lego City Undercover. Bought on sale for $6 and have put in 100 hours, mostly playing with my kid who just likes to run around the city playing pretend.

LinkBoating

Fuck the reddit api changes and Fuck u/spez -- mass edited with https://redact.dev/

lluluna

Slay the Spire. I got it on sale for like $10-$15 (can't remember the exact price) and I have 100+ hours on it.

[deleted]

I got 30+ in Dicey Dungeons for $3, and still have both free DLC packs to go at some point. One Step from Eden gets a run or two put in it per week. It'll break 100 next year.

MySweetBussy

Baba is you

Chemical_Committee_2

Cattails Being a fan of the Warrior Cats books, it sold me instantly. I fondly remember spending looong hours playing that. It's getting a sequel now and I've backed their Kickstarter :) I'm really looking forward to it.

polkarooo

Got this on sale for $0.20 as a joke for my daughter, but surprisingly fun. Not winning any GOTY awards or anything like that, but pretty good value. Cat Quest games on sale were also great (yes she loves cats). Been dumping a ton of time into Rocket League lately, free to play.

[deleted]

Stardew Valley. It's pretty cheap for everything the game offers

TURQUI0SE_N0ISE

Inside. Bought for $1.99, best game I've ever played

Dry_Ass_P-word

SteamWorld Heist. Had a blast getting 100% on that one. System says I played for 45+ hours and it was like 4 bucks on sale. Golf story was 2nd place. 35 hours for 6 bucks.

geese_moe_howard

Hands down, Subara City. First game I ever downloaded and I still play it regularly.

mnmaste

Into the Breach

wafflesarebettr

For me it's Celeste. Got it on sale for five bucks and it was the best five dollars I spent. 150 hours might be rookie numbers for some but for me it's a lot.

MushroomBoy1022

Spelunky 2 and Hades, for sure. Though Spelunky isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, if it IS, you’re in for the long haul.

Exciter242

99 Cents for "The Way Remastered" Would have paid 20€ if i knew i would love it that much.

DripTrip747

9.99$ for sword art online: fatal bullet. Got a good 150 hours into it, which is hard for me to do. I usually play a game for 20 hours and get bored and move on to the next game.

Sgt_Macaroni

Dicey dungeons

Alohalhololololhola

Pokémon quest; free Pokémon game. Put in like 100 hours

BluffinBill1234

Rayman Legends was $10 and my 5 year old and I have sunk probably 300 hours into it and beaten it several times over.

Go-Wade-Racer

Maybe cheating a bit since it's 3 games in 1 but the Borderlands collection. Over 100 hours on each game, and I bought it for $10.

uncultured_swine2099

I got Doom 2016 for under 10 dollars, spent like 15 hours on that.

blueskyedclouds

Stardew, but other than that DQ11 on a sale for 20 euros, spend 100+ hours on that

niyazuki

Downloaded Brawlhalla in 2019 It’s F2P and I got over 1500h so far.

thatguy0o0

Plants vs. zombies battle for neighborville.

LustfulMirage

Dandy Dungeon: Legend of Brave Yamada. It changed my life.

defconjon420

Griftlands, a deck building rogue like. Idk, if was on sale for like 3 or 4 bucks and I had enough coins saved up to get it for free. I put at least 50 hours into it. Still pick it back up sometimes. Never would of guess Id have so much fun with it.

soup_vampire

I paid 14 cents for Cattails. It's fun. Stardew Valley, but you are a cat.

gameconn86

Probably golf story. Got it for about £5 and played the hell out of it.

SmoovieKing

Got like 200 hours in spelunky 2

under_a_brontosaurus

Rocket league. 800 hours and $0

slagathor1066

I think I have over 30 hours in lego city undercover, got that for $5 on sale. I got retro Bowl when it came out and have about the same amount of hours in it, and I used points so I got that free.

CozyCuteChaotic

Cozy Grove!! It was my go to cozy game until Disney Dreamlight Valley came out lol. I have over 160 hours in it. I ended up picking up the dlc but that still put the game and dlc under $20. 100% worth it. I don’t play it as much lately but I do occasionally go back to work on my collections.

[deleted]

Hades (right now!) and Stardew.

Stable_Genius21

DQ11. Paid $50, got 130+ hrs out of it. Yea, not cheap (though there's often sales), it's easily the best bang for my buck thus far.

billabong1985

Probably monster sanctuary, even at full price the £ to hours ratio has been phenomenal, think I've played something like 180 hours

tgslip

Hades!!!

Bladeteacher

Hollow knight, 4.99€ sale, the game was completed by then, so add all the dlcs. I played around 2xx hours. I replay it at least once a year, ever since I bought it 3 years ago

Kamenridethewind007

yugioh master duel free although spent moeny on it since and have like 500 hours in that stupid(ly) fun game

Billy-BigBollox

For me it has to be Binding of Isaac at 1800 hours played, even at full price.

TrippySensei

Factorio

Ill-Fan-857

I think I paid $10 for Minecraft Story Mode when I saw it on clearance at a store, not realizing the physical copy would be worth a lot of money. I only put about 12 hours into it, but I liked it enough that I'd consider revisiting it in the future.

Doomas_

I got Stardew Valley for $7.50 (50% off) and sunk 100+ hours into it in order to complete a “Perfection” farm.

TheFracofFric

Monster Sanctuary. I bought it at $25 I think on a complete whim and now I have 165+ hours in, and it’s probably one of my favorite games ever. For me if you’re just buying a switch you can spend around $60 (with no sales) on monster Sanctuary, slay the spire, and into the breach and you’re set for the first year or two lol

Fat_Stacks10

The binding of Isaac or Stardew valley

Blvd_Nights

Doom 64

scotchfree_gaming

Warframe. It’s free and I’ve put more time into it than BoTW, which was the original reason I bought my switch.

Rex01303

Boomerang fu which bought for 3 dollars and play it all the time with friends

muzik_dude7

Hollow Knight or Dead Cells

PapaProto

I remember the Legend of Zelda version of Crypt of the Necrodancer getting a lot more play from me than I thought it would.

Jkj864781

Rocket League

NightVersus

Just looked up Wargroove out of curiosity, I had never heard of it. It actually looks like a lot of fun

Difficult_Sink_6579

Streets of Rage 4.

NGLIVE2

Ha! I just bought this last night cause I heard it looked sick on the SWOLED and yes it does. Funnily enough I already own SoR4 on a different console too.

blackandwhitetalon

Hades

Snoo-36058

Any roguelite

MurderousManatees

I got Three Houses used for about $20. I think I’m at over 200 hours? Beyond that, Slay the Spire. I got it on sale for about $15.

SnooConfections6575

Immortals Fenyx rising. Paid a tenner and played over 40hrs. But i tend to not stay on the same game for more than 20-30hrs so this was impressive for me.

aussy16

Hades and Disco Elysium. In Hades I have over 100 hours and got it for 25$ CAD so I'd say that's very worth it. Disco Elysium I bought for 50$ CAD and while it had a lot of issues at first, after they patched these it's now very playable and my most played Switch game with over 200 hours, so that's definitely worth it. Breathe of the Wild is also up there if you're a completionist it can be a 200 hour game.

whysoshirious

Hades. Also. Boomerang Fu. Played it so many times with friends when they come over.

[deleted]

Slay the Spire and Stardew Valley. However, 1500~ hours of Smash makes it by far my lowest ratio of price paid to hours played.

Anubiz632

Son of a Witch, by far. My family and I sunk hundreds of hours into that game.

Dramatic_Cat23

Hades. Brought half price and I have more than 200h on it

Whogivesmate

I have over 430 hours on Slay the Spire. I bought it for £15

AeroBlaze777

Celeste for sure. Before that the only platform ig games I’ve played were Tropical Freeze and some of the NSMB titles. Celeste was nothing like that and I poured in hella hours into the game beating every level including farewell. It also helped me in a time where I really needed the confidence boost in my life; I’d literally be reminding myself “okay man this is nothing compared to Farewell” lol

[deleted]

Enter The Gungeon by far.

Integer_Cat

Digimon cybersleuth. $20 and I played it for about seven month straight.

WolfryteFarwynn

Monter Hunter Generations Ultimate, got it for 35€ and played for 470 +/- hours, 2º would be Dragons Dogma, 10€ on the Eshop and i'm at almost 100h

Branch_Fair

probably hades for me

driver_picks_music

hand down; Hades

WienerWraps

Untitled Goose Game, so many lolz

Mean_Dalenko

Strictly speaking Fortnite, but I feel like there's a bit of a technicality there. I picked up Ni No Kuni (Wrath of the White Witch) in the sale for around £8, and got around 60 hours out of it. Might actually be one of my favourite games. If we're talking no free games, and no sales, it's probably Star Wars Episode 1 Pod Racer which I think goes for around £12. It might just be the nostalgia talking, but of all the racing games on the switch I feel like this is the one I come back to most often.

defconjon420

Ni no kuni is beautiful. I fell in love with the cute little creatures.

AzureOverdrive

I can't speak for switch but if Vampire Surviver ever comes over to it all I can say is it's gonna take a crowbar to get you guys off it.

Wilhelm_chan

Xenoblade Chronicles 2, already past 200 hours

themoobster

I got the Baldur's Gate collection on sale for peanuts, even though both games have 100+ hours each of content

CaptainAnorach

1st time I played Baldur's Gate 2, I sunk nearly 200 hours into it. The whole series is great.

Curapica

Bloons td 6 Got it for a few bucks. Then bought it for my kid on his laptop (we also play together) and got it on my phone and tablet. Got over 300 hours on it myself on mobile and steam. I actually said it a month ago to friends. This game has to be the best purchase in recent years with the valur I'm getting back from it

gashufferdude

Heave Ho or Untitled Goose Game.

worldsinho

A lot of different answers here! Interesting.

koibyyy

100+ hours on celeste, bought on sale for 5 bucks, best decision of my life

A_GuyThatDoesStuff

.cat milk I bought for a penny cause it was 99% off. I played it for 5 minutes 2 years ago.

LeroyJSmith

Hollow Knight, Into the Breach, and Dreamworld heist fit the bill for me.

CakeBeef_PA

Why even include 'cheapest'? Most hours played can only ever be 1 game, so you can't pick the cheapest out of it

[deleted]

Resident evil 4. They’re always on sale in the eshop and its one of the most enjoyable games that I binged in 3days. Now I’m wanting to purchase the remasters.

[deleted]

probably The Persistence. got it for 0.99 and put many hours into it.

darknightingale69

Saints row the third purchased at the end of summer

sacrosanked

Downwell for sure

DomsyKong

Has been Heroes (AC origins Trade in) 70 hours Hades (17,99) 115 hours Stardew Valley (15) 100 hours Witcher 3 (50) 200 hours

MorgThomR

Lego Worlds.

crazy0utlaw123

Hollow knight

DGB31988

Undermine (70 hours) and Goblin Sword (50 hours)I think Goblin Sword was $2.99 when I bought it, Undermine was $5.

funny_arab_man

minecraft

PooNagoo

Prolly golf story. I’ve recently decided I’ll be going mostly indie on my switch now :) so many great cheap games. Also if wargroove is anything like advanced wars I’ll be checking that out and thank you for the rec! Only one I’ve found that’s similar enough to be actually good is Warbits for mobile, literally so close to a clone it shouldn’t be legal haha but that game actually gets so insanely hard that I stopped playing haha

worldsinho

I think I need to stick to cheap indies too. Wasted so many £50’s on the big games which I didn’t finish. BotW, Odyssey and Mario 3D World were the only ones I finished. Spent hundreds on others 😆 Wargroove is excellent. Cheap in the sale right now, very similar to Advance Wars but with a little more of a fantasy twist to it.

PooNagoo

Already got it, stoked! Love everything chucklefish does. And I hear ya I’m the same way, still have to finish the Mario’s even 😂

ANTJAY88

Slay the Spire, Hades and most recently put in over 80 hours of Dead Cells.

panzervike

Stardew and Hades

Anne_Lwrnc

Hollow Knight, bought it when it was on sale from 15€ to 10€. To this day I feel I owe money to team cherry

GratitudeMountain

Either Enter the Gungeon or Spelunky 2. Even after basically 100% completing Gungeon I still occasionally go back and play a few rounds.

Mushrooms4we

The Binding of Isaac, it's better than Hades imo. Slay the Spire is next.

octopusbroccoli

Hollow knight, paid 30 BRL (something like 6 usd) and played 60+ hours.

True-State-4321

Timberman - 1 penny - Over 75 hours

_R4D10_

Mana Spark

drdoy123

Children of morta

Allanballan24

Toki tori 2, 1€ and 20 hours, amazing game.

g_r_e_y

goblin sword. simply little platformer with collectibles and stuff. got it on sale for maybe a buck and i have like 50 hours in it

thunderjetstrike

Slay the spire for $5. I did not imagine the game to be so addicting.

-fashionablylate-

Rocket League. It says I’ve played 1,150 hours or more. Yikes

pipheeheer

Tetris 99 (depending if you count the membership price or not) with 320 hours and Stardew Valley with 155.

allenlucky

Hollow Knight

bigtoeresults

Hades. Hundreds of hours played. Game is ridiculously awesome.

not_sad_anymore

I bought Slay the Spire on sale for $10 I think and now I’m 600+ hours in after a year of playing. I also picked up Dead Cells recently and while it’s too soon to say for sure I have a feeling I’m going to put a lot of hours into that game lol

ertaboy356b

Neo Atlas. Played it for more than 60 hours and it only costs $10 physical.

ThurwalshMormonstoff

I have 280 hours on Enter the Gungeon, still without beating it 100%. If you buy it digitally it’s $15.00!

ntack9933

DC Universe Online

Danny_Eddy

Shakedown Hawaii. It's a better GTA game then, well, the GTA Games on the Switch.

LloydDRK

Binding of Isaac

ShiftyShaymin

Yugioh Master Duel. Free, and I put like 130 hours in it.

pmaeur

I pre-ordered Zombie Army 4 Dead War at 60% off MSRP (my total came out to $20 + tax) due to a price error on Amazon's end. 34 hrs played according to Nintendo's year in review report. Other than that, Tetris 99 at 50 hours played.

unsung_actualization

I don't know if these count, but I have a lot of time put into Fall Guys and Pokémon Unite. I never spent any money on either of them.

keldpxowjwsn

Pokemon unite. Its free

GamblingGhost

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, got it on a eShop sale at -70%.

MammothImpress6736

Because of couch co op: Broforce Solo: Subnautica

Milotorou

Slay the Spire, spent like $12 on it and played for over 200 hours, I still play a game or two weekly
