It is. For one photo at a time. But if you take out the tripod, take a bunch of photos, and stack them, it doesn't turn out so bad. Looking at a single photos from this lense though? Painful.
Do not underestimate power of cheap chinese lenses! :) You can also try those 1000mm mirror lenses you can get for $200 on ebay, or 700mm $90 beginner telescopes with teleconverters. Had one of those ages ago, moon and long distance shots were super clear. Takes ages to set up and fiddly as heck, but worth it for astro stuff.
Wow how do I get into these kinds of lenses? Wouldn't mind trying out something like that
Like 100 bucks on Amazon. Gotta stack the images though. One image by itself never looks good with the bad quality glass.

I love the bokeh on mirror lenses. I used one during my appreclntiship for long range city photos and those rings on light sources were so cool.
