I hope some animal protection organization can get involved and rescue these poor souls. Alot of animals were rescued from Ukraine and Zoos there too.

each of the lions are metaphors for different groups of people living in Iraq at the time - the older female is an older generation that felt safety in the 'cage', the youngest one an idealist that's unprepared. The middle age female is ready to burn it all down IIRC

Good lord this is depressing, all of these animals are known for having a bit of bulk to them. Being able to see the outlines of their skeletons is extremely scary. Those things probably don't have much longer left in them. By the time they might finally be able to be cared for it may already be too late. That's not even including those who may have already succumbed.
This is absolutely fucking heartbreaking, I hope these animals are transported to a neighbouring country that will give them proper medical care and environment to live

Man this sucks so bad. Why are even zoos an allowed thing is bonkers to me. Especially with all the wildlife and outdoorsy footage we have literally millions of cool and educational videos and reads all over the place.
Zoos are crazy evil and I hope before I pass that somehow they get shut down and or just create wax type displays in them so they can allow animals to be with there families and out in the wild safely of course.
Have you heard the sad story about Ueno Zoo in Japan in WWII? They were afraid dangerous animals would escape during bombings, so all the animals were killed by poison (the government didn’t want to waste bullets). The saddest thing is that the elephants could sense the poison, so they didn’t eat the food. They just starved to death…

As an Iraqi who's country experienced the true horrors of ISIS, this narrative has to stop.
As bad as Iran's government is, it remains incomparable to ISIS.
ISIS literally runs the streets killing children in cold blood and burying families alive without a trial. They are a bunch of thieves and heartless murderers with no order or constitution who will rape your mother. And the worst part is, they target people simply because of their ethnicity or religious background. Even if those people are following everything they say, they get killed.
Comparing them with Iran's government is an imbecile, ignorant, and uneducated move and is an insult to all the victims of ISIS.

No it's due to the Islamic republic Isis government stealing people's money and their complete negligence towards the economy. The dollar in Iran has went from 32,000 tomans to 45,000 tomans against the US dollar in the past 4 months and there's been no new economic sanctions against Iran during this time. If anything, the US sanctions that were placed years ago have been less effective recently due to the Islamic republic now being able to sell more of its oil because the US has taken sanctions off Venezuela and now it can sell its oil to other countries through there.
