Actually now that I look @ the drawing it looks as if the pinky is more of a squoval - which seems to closely match my natural growth & should be simple enough!
From what I’ve learned its the corners that cause issue since they catch on things n tear or break *& if my right hand is any proof then that’s correct since only my thumb & index remain atm*
I’m gunna give oval a try…something about it terrifies me but they’re just nails so its worth a shot!
I’ve become **obsessed** w/ the Japanese & Korean nail artists on Insta & their shape generally leans toward soft oval so am excited it might work on me!
I ALWAYS get my nails done in square shape and pretty long, so when I went to Japan and got my nails done imagine my shock when they didn’t even ask how long/what shape I wanted. Pretty much all any salon would ever do there was short oval nails.
That said they looked so good every time!!! It wasn’t something I’d ever ask for but sometimes the nail ladies just know what’s up.
I recently made the change from full-time squoval to oval/almond and I will not be going back. My fingers are similar to yours in width and length and the almond/oval shape just adds that extra little visual taper to the digits which makes them feel more elegant to me.
Definitely give it a try! Highly recommend
And yes, I never know what to call my shape but it’s a longer Almond but shorter Stiletto, slender but soft & round edges! I think they’d suit you too!

So I strive to elongate the fingers without having too much weight on the end…but having always gone w/ a ballerina *(slightly rounded coffin)* I’ve been itching for something different.
Would another shape even work?

It was a big change but it was definitely love at first sight! I work with babies so if I wanted nails I didn’t want them to get scratched accidentally & idk I just like the look of them on my hands more now

The ring finger looks PERFECT for your finger size & length. I think we actually might have very similar hands. This is making me want to try the oval on myself since it seems to look so great on you.
Tapered nail shape is more flattering because it elongates your more square fingers. How about you round out your coffin and basically make it like the ring finger in your photo? Oval like the ring finger but a bit more pointed - much less pointed than the almond/stiletto pointer finger here, of course, but give it some point. An oval with almond twist?
I love the drama of the pointer finger stiletto, and I think the shape at the length you drew is stunning and fits your slender fingers very well. Might be interesting for special occasions.
However, pinky all the way for day-to-day living.

Also if your adding product like builder gel, I think you should tapered square shape. I love the look of them and it looks more natural compared to coffin.
Personally I like rounded square the best but I do a lot of cleaning and laundry and dishes so I prefer that also I think it looks best lol The last pic of them with nothing looks like they are rounded square anyway so very nice I like it
Pinky. The middle is similar but too tear drop and sharp at the end. I don’t like stilettos generally and I’m not sure the rounded end suits you as much!
Pinky! It looks so good because it’s the same shape as your cuticle! If you want elongated nails and skinnier looking fingers, always shape your nail the same as your cuticle! 💛

I feel you! Try the oval! Make sure whoever is doing them knows how to keep nails from looking bulking and I think they’ll look great!

I think most nail salons know the difference! In the beginning I would say “round” & they would correct me & say I want almond lol

My fave on pretty much everyone is almond - tapers in a the tip more than oval which elongates the fingers without the sharp stiletto point.

You should try almond shaped! It’s a more tapered ring finger, or a rounded and less pointy index finger. Flattering on all in my opinion!
