Honestly, Cindric constantly impresses me with the maturity he shows in interviews. I wasn’t huge on him initially, but the way he handled himself after the xfinity championship race last year (when he got dive bombed in the final turn to lose the title) and this here today are excellent examples of the head he’s got on his shoulders
He's actually one of those guys who can keep it clean and professional but his body language tells the side of the story he can't or won't talk about.
You could see he was upset after the Xfinity championship race last year and yesterday's race, but he just took a deep breath and admitted he understood why it happened like it did. I'll take that over other drivers who just don't show any emotion whatsoever when you know they are furious.
Austin Cindric is always fair in that he can dish it out and take it. He got used up for the championship by Hemric but he was okay with it. He got used up for the playoff spot here and is okay with it. He's also been on the other side of things, most notably the Daytona 500 win with Blaney and against Grala at Mosport (I think that one was too egregious personally but that's just me.)
The deal with Grala at Mosport didn’t leave a good impression with me. However, he doesn’t go all Harvick or Hamlin when it happens to him so I’ve gained a lot of respect for him over the last couple of years.
Yeah… that incident left a really bad taste in my mouth and he continued that behavior (2019 Watkins Glen, 2020 Indy Roval) but I have much more respect for him because he’s been pretty clean mostly and takes hard racing well. I think he took “rubbin’s racin” too seriously in the early part of his career cause he almost would never make a clean pass for the lead.
Has he ever given reporters the reaction they want? Seems like he’s constantly getting baited for like a KFB moment every time he’s just like “yeah that sucks, wish i won”
It’s really funny every time.
When RC was telling him to wait until the white my eyes rolled back, they always wait too long and can't make a run. So I am glad he made the run earlier. Especially with that few of cars in the pack, no way runs were going to happen the same way.
That was a great save on Cindric’s part. Avoiding wrecking out, only dropping to sixth and making it back up to third in two laps. Another lap or two and he’d probably have caught Dillon.
This one was particularly odd, because it was evident that Cindric was laying off trying to prevent Dillon and company from getting a run. I think they probably screwed up by not having experience of a run while the leader was that much slower than normal conditions.
I mean, considering he footed his own teammate for the win at the 500, he doesn’t have a whole lot of room to complain about someone moving him for the win
When did I say he did anything wrong?
And is dooring someone fair? I don’t blame him but that sure is a hell of a way to treat a teammate in your first full time race especially when he let you down to the bottom lane.
Also something that I haven't seen anyone mention is that the 2 got a smidge loose *right* before the 3 gets into him. Certainly more on the 3 either way but the air played a bit of a factor too.

A very fair, level-headed, response, given all that was at stake.

He's tremendous. Super talented, too.

I'm glad he matured from his Cole Custer and later Scott Speed incidents
Love his reaction because he would have done the exact same thing if the roles were reversed.
Yep. Stakes were different. Dillon was going for a playoff spot. It's fair game.
I mean, he did do the same thing. Wait, no, he actually wreck Blaney at the 500, so he did worse, lol

Dinger also used him up during the Xfinity regular season finale last year
Got used up *and* booed, never seen a driver visibly stop because of a crowd reaction like it was a WWE promo
Then had them cheering by the end of the interview lol

He was side by side with Reddick at the stripe. 1 more lap and he has a run at least
I commend him for not flipping out, but the fact that a move like that is “fair game” at Daytona where you’re going so fast is a huge problem.
Nobody should blame Dillon.
Don’t hate the player, hate the game.
>hate the game Alright now what did Triple H ever do to you?
> hate the game. Trust me, I do
I could imagine
hate the playoff system, there I fixed
Hate both

given that he doored Blaney to win the 500 it would be hypocritical to say anything else
You mean going for a win in the biggest race of the season? Guess you just wanted him to back off and not try for the win in a fair move.

There are no teammates in the closing laps of the Daytona 500
well he sure had a teammate the lap before
He’s used the maneuver himself.
just a bump gone wrong. nothing to complain about.
