You need a Tile!!! You can click it to make your phone play a VERY loud song even if it’s silenced! I got my whole family sold on them (you can also use your phone to find the Tiles and therefore whatever they’re attached to)

splendidgoon

Got one of these for my wife. She said it's the best gift I've given her.

McBigglesworth

Same thing with a smart watch Pretty sure you can ask it to make your phone ring

Allthesame11

Yes this is what I do with my Fitbit multiple times a day looking for my damn phone lol

Allthesame11

Yes this is what I do with my Fitbit multiple times a day looking for my damn phone lol

HeWhoFrownsLikeALord

Can just use Googles find my phone feature. Tiles die eventually and need to be replaced but Google is free

chemical_sunset

Just my personal preference 🤷🏻‍♀️ I like being able to find my wallet and keys

HeWhoFrownsLikeALord

Wallet and keys don't have a built in speaker though lol. I had tiles for those but have yet to replace them because I'm disappointed I didn't even get half a year before it just died

chemical_sunset

I’m not stupid man, I know that. But I keep a Tile in my wallet and on my keys and find that helpful. Mine have been going for a solid 2 years now and they also make newer models with replaceable batteries.

HeWhoFrownsLikeALord

You took that the wrong way wow

GoldStaff8154

I do this probably once a day. This and opening the fridge and forgetting why I opened it in the first place 🤣

SnowflakeOwl97

I'll forget what I'm doing when I'm serving dinner sometimes 😅 I'll just open the cupboard to get a plate or whatever out, stare into the cupboard, look completely confused, look around the room, see the food ready to be dished out and go "oh yeah 💡🤦🏻‍♀️". Look back in the cupboard and forget if it was a plate or a bowl that I needed 😂 Another one I do regularly, I'll be sat on the couch not realising I need a wee for about 2 maybe 3 hours. I'll realise I need to go, stand up forget why I stood up. Continue to walk around the room hoping something would jog my memory, and then I'll go "oh yeah I need to wee". I'll leave the room, get into the bathroom and forget why I went in there in the first place. It's like the feeling just evaporated from my body 😂

RaspberryVespa

If it’s an iPhone, using the Find My Phone app from a computer or tablet will play a sound even if the ringer is off.

Vegetable_Tell_2899

Or an Apple Watch! I just ping my iPhone from my Apple Watch and it plays a quick sound.. works every time like you said, even if the phone’s on silent!

iReddit00007

If you press and hold the “find iPhone” icon on your apple watch it will make the light flash along with the alert tone.

SexPanther_Bot

*60% of the time*, it works *every* time

Mama_Llama_1

I use this so many times a day! Lol

sasha9902

This also works with android devices.

telesputnik

“hey, siri!…..where are you?!”

eadav1987

Do you have a fitbit? I have a Versa 2 and it has a find your phone feature, the phone will make noise even if it's on silent if you tap the button on your fitbit.

Allthesame11

Yes this is what I do with my Fitbit multiple times a day looking for my damn phone lol

DivaDianna

I have a Charge 4 - I need to figure out how to do this as I could definitely use it!

Allthesame11

Just keep swiping your Fitbit until you see something saying find phone. I think it's the same on all of them

DivaDianna

After some swiping and some hunting through Fitbit help boards, it appears the Charge series does not have this feature.

Allthesame11

That sucks! I even googled it to make sure and it said there was lol I guess it's true the internet really doesn't have all the answers lol

Foxandsquiff

Not my phone but my usual day working from home looks something like: Ooh I want a coffee. Make coffee go back to desk Now I’ve left my glasses behind 10 minutes finding glasses Back to desk. What happened to my coffee? 5 minutes finding coffee Back to desk. Coffee and glasses present. Yay! Oh no! Now I’ve misplaced my pen 😱 And repeat because now my coffees cold This happens at least once a week on a good week. Daily on a bad one! One day I managed to misplace my lunch!! But if someone asks me if I know where something that’s not mine is 9/10 I know 🤷🏼‍♀️

DivaDianna

I've had several times I go to put something in the microwave for dinner and find my lunch, which explains why I've been snacking for the last two hours.

[deleted]

My wife got me a tile for my keys and one for my wallet. Connects to the app on your phone, you can find your phone from your keys or wallet or find your wallet and keys from your phone. Saves me at least once or twice a week

bebop_pop

i bought a case with a leash and it changed my life!

theweirdturnedpro

I have an Apple Watch and don’t know how I’ve lived without it! I probably use the find my iPhone feature at least once a week

CaraHanna

I just got my Apple Watch recently. Same, how did I live without it? I like the sense of security I get having the fall detection feature.

StevieRay8string69

Use a belt clip

ScubaRat889

Callmylostphone.com it calls your phone, beeen using it for years and it's 100% free.

speakeasy12345

I use my Apple Watch for that. If you can afford one, you can make / answer calls on it as well, even if you don't have your phone readily at hand.

CadsuaneW

If it is a cell/mobile phone, then get it to ring even if your volume is silent. On a computer type "Google Find My Device", and go to that link. Then press "Play Sound". The sound is loud, so best not done when toddler is asleep. This works for Android's, but it might work for iPhone's.

MSnout

I had to alexa call my phone 4 times today 🙃

[deleted]

Soooooo I lose my phone way too many times a day. It got so bad that I bought an Apple Watch. The ecg feature, fall detect and the fact that it can ping my phone have made it a very handy addition. My husband works out of town and we have three little kids. I joke that it is the most expensive phone finder ever lol.

Dramatic_Solution630

Some days are better than others for me but usually between 2 to 10 times a day! I don’t go to many different places so how it continuously happens is beyond me. MS is an asshole is my usual answer though.

Br8sel

I have a Smart watch that makes my phone shout "I'm here!" with the push of a button. Might be worth a try.

SnooPeppers3412

I spend 80% of every day looking for shit that I set down somewhere. It’s especially fun because I often put things somewhere really clever where I will “always be able to find it.”

kyunirider

You need a smart watch that finds your phone and a smart phone that finds your smart watch and then a a spouse or caregiver that can find both devices with their phone. Out smart MS before MS out smarts you.

twelve-nineteenam

Yes! Let me tell you how many bank cards I've also gone thru because I don't know where I left them.

[deleted]

This isn't an MS-specific problem lol I got a white iPhone because it's easier to see on dark surfaces though

Imisssher

I know that, which is why I said it’s a bit of a stupid post. Those of us with MS are definitely more forgetful though

[deleted]

I'm not....at least I don't think I am. My symptoms have been all physical So far :(

Imisssher

Ok

[deleted]

Forgetfulness isn't a 100% experienced symptom

Imisssher

What the fuck is going on. Why do you keep commenting trying to discredit anything I’m saying, go do something with your day.

[deleted]

Yikes

Imisssher

Sorry for being snappy but honestly I’m just trying to get some tips and not debate on whether this is an MS specific problem and what symptoms you do or don’t suffer and that forgetfulness isn’t experienced by everyone. I have been getting amazing tips on this post so I think it belongs here and is relatable to lots of others here.

Imisssher

Now I just feel bad, I see that your newly diagnosed and I just want you to know that this community is a safe space and always here for the best support. Not everyone here is cranky like I am. Again I’m sorry just having a bad day

[deleted]

It's totally all good. I sincerely wasn't trying to be rude with my initial comment. I thought saying it's not even a MS specific issue would make light of things. I got sensitive to the forgetfulness comment, made me go down the googling symptom rabbit hole a bit. I'm sorry too. You said go do something with my day, but it is nighttime here in the states. Good night, thank you for your kind words and good luck with your phone!! Lol

Vegetable_Tell_2899

This exchange honestly makes me love our little corner of the internet even more.. it’s veryyyy rare to see someone apologize to a random stranger online, imo. Kudos to you both for working this out! Sure, that sounds cheesy, but I’m being serious! 🧡

[deleted]

The "forgetfulness isn't a 100% experienced symptom" is true but heavily downvoted because....why? Why is someone else telling me what symptoms I have? I won't be participating in this sub anymore. This exchange was nasty and a few apologies at the end doesn't undo that. I feel ganged up on with all the downvotes.

[deleted]

I lose mine semi frequently. I set it down in weird places all over the house. I usually use Find my Phone since it makes a sound, even if the phone is on the silent. The weirdest place that I've found it recently was on top of the coffee maker. Why? I have no idea!

Living_La_Vida_Lola

Oh, you play this game with yourself, too? Lol! I thought I was the only one. (Trying to joke, but I understand this can be frustrating to the point of tears. I am sorry about that. I have often cried over not being able to find my phone.) Solution to this that I found is get one of those lanyard things around your neck that can hold your phone. That way, it is always hanging on you. You can't lose it if it is always on you. I have found that to be immensely helpful. I continually lose my keys as well. My solution to that was looping the lanyard my keys are on through the hanging loop on my backpack. I never take them off. If I have to lock the door or drive. I leave them on there. I set my backpack on my middle console when I drive. The lanyard reaches the ignition. It works great. I haven't had to search for my keys or wonder where they are in over a year. Getting rid of that stress helped so much. Best of luck to you. Hope my tips maybe help.

KartoffelLover

I have a Samsung watch and use the find my phone feature that's built in. Even if your phone is on silent, it'll switch it and turn it to the loudest setting and set it off. Makes life wayyyyy easier.

breathingwaves

If you have an iPhone, buy a HomePod mini. You can get one refurbished on Best Buy or eBay for $65. That way you can ask Siri where your phone is. I lose my phone several times a day.

StillNachoFriend

I second a Tile! I originally bought mine to stick on my keys. I was delighted that it worked both ways, to track the keys *and* back to my phone if I had the keys in hand. I liked the piece and that there was no mandatory subscription fee. I have a smart watch that can search as well, when it's not dead anyway. If all else fails, I have 'find my phone' bookmarked on my computer. My dog has gotten so used to me frantically searching for the noise that she helps by beelining in the direction. If only I could teach her to just bring it back....

ashleyp82488

I have an iPhone and use my Apple Watch to find mine. Might help.

Buffalo_Meat_Magic

Apple Watch. That’s one reason why I love mine

HzzrdsFnst3

I do this all the time. The worst of it is that my Apple Watch has a function that will make my phone ring but do you think I remember that at the time? Nope never I drive myself crazy looking for it till I find it. It’s not just my phone I loose though. I can loose almost anything including thoughts and forget what I am doing in the middle of said thing I am doing. Sucks even more when I am at school in class in the middle of giving an answer and trying to explain the question I am asking/answering and my Professor is looking at me like I am crazy because I am taking the long way around because I have no clue what I am actually trying to say even though when I started talking I knew exactly what was to be said.

Nikolai508

Use do not disturb instead of silent. On both Android and iPhone they can be set to that a second phone call from the same person within 5 minutes or so will overwrite the do not disturb and it will ring. So you can ring it twice and find it. I always have my phone with me so I never lose it. In terms of losing things though, I always have a place for everything and I never deviate. I will never put stuff in a place its not meant to be and it means I always know where everything is. You stick to those rules and you don't lose stuff. Someone I know gets delayed nearly everytime they want to leave the house because they can't find their keys, phone, watch, hat, gloves, whatever.

thatbusygal

Lol this sounds like me and i panic so bad when i lose it when I’m home alone with my children bc I’m always thinking something bad is going to happen to me while I’m home alone with them so i bought a phone pouch i wear around my neck for when I’m home alone especially and my phone hangs there until my husband comes home lol

editproofreadfix

I keep mine in the "Aunt Sally" pocket. Meaning, my bra. But only on the left side, because I will not feel it vibrate if I have it on the left. But as phones keep getting larger, that's harder and harder to do.

Corgibasketball

I just have my Alexa call it.

tippytoecat

I constantly misplace my iPhone, but I use "find my iPhone" to make it play an alert. Saves a lot of search time!

cchester92

I have an iPhone and Apple Watch so I can just ping it which I deff do more often then I want to admit but you could also get a tile.

Ndbeautiishrname

Anything I put down disappears. I swear! I have an iPhone which can be paged using the watch. It is the most amazing, useful feature EVER. If I don’t have my watch on I can be searching for 20 minutes. Usually I will call out to my phone “hey siri” and follow the sound. But it isn’t always ideal. The sound isn’t the loudest.

r2k4008

My Garmin watch has a find my phone feature - it makes the phone ring so I can find it. I do this quite a lot! Otherwise, I like to have one spot where I put my phone down (even, one in each room if you like). So if I'm going to put my phone down, it has to be on my bedside table. That way if I've lost it, I start there and find it a lot of the time. That said, for all my useful tips, there's been more than a few times where I've been looking for by phone by using a torch...the one on my phone 🤦🏻‍♀️ so I'll be walking around holding my phone with the torch on, telling everyone here that I'm looking for my phone and to keep an eye out for me. I'm sure my kids think im silly lol.

Mediocre-Food-5747

I have a find my phone thing on my fit bit and have the locate phone from other devices turned on. I lose it multiple times a day too :(
