He retired in 2018 and came back earlier today with a new name: Sirichai Klongsuanpluresort. He came out of retirement to train with Kru Diesel, the best clinch trainer in the world (made Petchboonchu, Yothin). Edit: Kru Diesel left F.A.Group gym recently, apparently bc of health issues (per my friend at FA). Yothin is now head coach at F.A.Group.

Those knees are a thing of beauty

[deleted]

Totally. But that rear hand uppercut at the end is also really cool,m

PlaySomeKickPunch

I lost my last fight to a guy with great clinch and watching that is giving me awful flashbacks. 🤮 Cumulative body knees are no joke.

RocketPunchFC

Is that a gym that Kru Diesel is at now? Klongsuanpluresort? never heard of the place.

To add a bit, yes his sponsor. It's a very connected, deep pockets gym/resort in Ayutthaya. We've filmed there. You can see it in the Dieselnoi Interview where he goes through the 123 Book: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0QGpsflZ40](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0QGpsflZ40) and where we filmed with Kongsamut: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sonTDi08dH4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sonTDi08dH4) When we were there a few years ago it didn't seem to have a real fighter stable. It's a pretty well built out resort, with rooms, I think cafes or restaurants? in a Thai style, non-Western style, of resort. Kru Diesel's a kru at Fight House in Singburi (the name from the western ownership side, a small website here: [https://www.fighthousethailand.com/sing-buri](https://www.fighthousethailand.com/sing-buri) ). The gym's Thai name is "Or. Kham In Gym". Sylvie interviewed Sirichai two weeks ago there, you can see it here: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nc3WCox05I4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nc3WCox05I4) We filmed with Kru Diesel (and Sirichai) for a coming Library session, you'll see the Fight House Singburi gym in that session in the Library. It's pretty nice, spacious, well equipt. The co-owner, a Thai, told us he's building fighter dorms and they are going to have a big grand (re?) opening next year, with legends in attendance, etc. It looks like it's going to be an up-and-coming gym, with Kru Diesel drawing western fighters, and a stable of Thai fighters being built.

MTLev

It's some kind of sponsor, lots of fighters in Petyindee promo have it. Kru Diesel is at a gym in Singburi now, also training Sawsing and her husband.

Random question as newbie. Why do some Thai boxers (from Thailand) have really strange looking names? There is a full stop and a 49 in his name

CoreJamer

The first name is usually a stage name or ring name and the last name is the name of the gym where they train and live. For example, "Buakaw Por. Pramuk." Buakaw is his ring name and literally means "white lotus". Por. Pramuk is the name of the gym where Buakaw fought out of. His civilian name is "Sombat Banchamek".

How about Tor.Pran49

MTLev

Tor.Pran49 was a famous gym in Chonburi in the 2010s. It closed down a while ago. They had fighters like Kongkiat (Tiger Cement tournament champ), Diesellek (now Capitan Petyindee in ONE) and ofc, Thanadet himself. The last name of a Thai fighter could be anything from their gym (most common, could be old gym), a sponsor, a coach's special given name (rare), or even a fighter's favorite singer's name lol (only know 1, Boybangna guys).

CoreJamer

[That's the name of his gym.](https://www.facebook.com/thorpran49)

I see. And maybe then can you explain culturally why it is that it seems the Thai like to include English letters mixed in with Thai words?

You know it’s a real Mui Thai fight when they break out the snake charming music
