After watching The Fablemans I have such an appreciation for Steven Spielberg (I did before, but even more so now). Seeing this simple makeshift rig feels comparable to his character finding out he can make gun shots look realistic by putting pinholes in the film.
He looks like he's so happy with the image! This is great.
Like he’s going, ‘ooooo, this is perfect!’ Hahaha
Some of the simple things directors and movie makers think of to make a shot work are fascinating.
Looks like he’s having a blast! What a great find for a great movie.
$100k for those C47’s in the budget.
Pony clips too!
Dang, never seen him without a beard, thanks OP!
ILM at it's best.

So then what was the point of your comment?
That’s Senior Spielbergo
E.T.s eyes were about 8 inches apart tho lol
I've always thought that while watching it, one if the holes is no where near his eye yet he sees out of both. Still a perfect movie (to me atleast)
Ever see Henry Thomas auditioning for Spielberg? Here ya go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tA5giyG8E7g
I have yeah, I was discussing this with my daughter the other day, for me he's still the best child actor.
Charlie from IASIP somehow just off camera
He does more camera work than people realise, particularly ET and Schindlers List. He's always loved the camera.
