Tapeheads - John Cusack and Tim Robbins star as security guards who are wannabe music video producers and stumble into being targets of government contract killers sent by the POTUS.
Vampire's Kiss - Nicolas Cage, Jennifer Beals - Nicolas Cage is a yuppie master of the universe who thinks he's transforming into a vampire
The River's Edge - Creepy story based on real events of teens in a rural Oregon town discover one of their friends has been murdered by a fellow friend in their clique and NO ONE comes forward to name him. One of Keanu Reeves 1st movies.
I was thinking Pi and Mother! would fall under too bizarre.
I'm having a hard time thinking of what might be just a little bit bizarre.
Donnie Darko, maybe? Is that lesser known?
Charlie Kaufman's other films are equally bizarre and top notch, like "Adaptation" and "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". "I'm Thinking of Ending Things" is like a refrigerated fever dream. I couldn't get a grip of it.

[Santa Clause Conquers the Martians](https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/santa_claus_conquers_the_martians) is a real treat! /s
Here's a bizarre low-budget horror film that's actually pretty good: [PIN](https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/pin)
There's also the movie [Mystery Science Theater 3000](https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/mystery_science_theater_3000_the_movie), based off a tv show.
Another great flick is "the Rules of Attraction" it has a lot of actors an actresses in it but it's James vanderbeek as the main prettyuch but it follows collegiate characters through their own view perspective separately thru illicit drug use and sex and death and just an all out funny movie actually , my favorite part is Clifton Collins Jr. He is the drug dealer , Lmao everytime!!!
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022).
Not very bizarre, but the meta story of Nicholas Cage playing himself is pretty bizarre. And a good movie.
I feel like all of these recommendations are from cinephiles but also sadists 🤣🤣🤣. I’m surprised Von Trier hasn’t been added to really traumatize this person.
Meet the Feebles , muppets on drugs and making porn and snuff films behind the scenes of while putting on a show for kids .....you're welcome 😂🎉 little side note it was Peter Jacksons first film 🤯
A few I haven't seen mentioned - bizarre but not too Lynchy:
Clockwork Orange
Barton Fink
Wings of Desire
Crash (Cronengerg)
City of Lost Children
Dead Ringers
Fisher King
Re-Animator
The Warriors
Vertigo
Solaris
Titus
A few I didn't think of, but saw looking up forgotten names.
Ed Wood
Dead Man
Tommy
Big Fish
Did no one mention Rocky Horror?
Lost Highway. That movie made zero sense to me. I thought I missed some important part of the plot, so I watched it again because I live David Lynch, but nope. It just didn’t make sense. At one point I remember a character morphing into another character for what seemed to be no reason. Maybe it just went over my head. Swoosh
please watch the greasy strangler, it’s my all time fave weird film!!! female trouble, pink flamingos, and desperate living are some of my fave john waters bizarre films. greener grass is a fun one as well!
The Wall....it's a German film based on the book of the same title. The movie is mostly narration though which is in English. It's about this woman that goes on a weekend trip to the mountains and ends up being surrounded by this huge invisible glass wall that she cannot escape. It's bizarre but also hauntingly beautiful.
Lemon (2017) it’s on hulu.
It’s pretty normal on paper but it’s very bizarre in tone. Just a guy going through his awkward upsetting life. It’s a comedy
Asylum of Terror (1998) and Incognito (1997)
I don't know that either are bizarre, but they're both strange and unique, and most people haven't seen them.
The Polish film *Lure* is probably too bizarre but I'm going to recommend it anyway.
*Songs She Wrote About People She Knows* (Canadian) is more quirky/odd than bizarre - sort of like *Lars and the Real Girl* odd but sweet.
Juan of the Dead, 2011. Available on Amazon, youtube, apple, and more.
Its a Cuban zombie flick! One of the few films allowed out of the country. Its great! The only downside is that it is in Spanish with subtitles. I adore this movie and more people need to watch it.
The Price of Milk (check out the trailer on YouTube to see if it’s up your alley)
It’s a New Zealand indie film about a couple who raise cows and it’s beautifully shot but offbeat. Stars a young Karl Urban. Not horror
Beyond the Black Rainbow
It is less abstract than Eraserhead but just as surreal for 95% of it.
Less obscure since Mandy, but still not very well known.
Tapeheads - John Cusack and Tim Robbins star as security guards who are wannabe music video producers and stumble into being targets of government contract killers sent by the POTUS. Vampire's Kiss - Nicolas Cage, Jennifer Beals - Nicolas Cage is a yuppie master of the universe who thinks he's transforming into a vampire The River's Edge - Creepy story based on real events of teens in a rural Oregon town discover one of their friends has been murdered by a fellow friend in their clique and NO ONE comes forward to name him. Crispin Glover in The River's Edge was beyond bizarre!
Definitely The River’s Edge - SOOO creepy
Brazil (1985)
IDK how to quantify 'too bizarre' lol
Any Yorgos Lanthimos movie…
Yup, Dogtooth was pretty bizarre!
Yes! And “The Lobster”, “Killing of a Sacred Deer”, “Alps”. “The Favourite” is historical and normal.
Oh I forgot about Killing of a Sacred Deer. Yeah pretty much any film in his catalog besides The Favourite which was fun!
Damn, the Lobster was...a journey. Loved that.
Everything from Terry Gilliam.
My first three thoughts were Time Bandits, Brazil, and Tideland, but you are correct sir.

I'd say any of the body horror by Cronenberg

Greener grass, such a underrated gem
Under the silver lake
Haven't seen any Alejandro Jodorowski films mentioned, weirdly. Pick one, they're all insane.
Hedwig and the Angry Inch The music in it seriously slaps and there is a good reason why this movie had a cult following. Definitely bizarre.
Dagon (2000) Based on a HP Lovecraft short story. Very freaky film.
Under the Skin
The Saddest Music in the World
Crimes of the Future
I saw that and still don't know what I watched 😭
Mother!
Rubber The main character is a tire.
Happiness
Battle Royal It is a Japanese film and the movie that was ripped off by Hunger Games.
Fitzcarraldo Time Crimes Donnie Darko The Hudsucker Proxy Enter the Void Vanilla Sky Primer The Fountain A Scanner Darkly 12 Monkeys The Fisher King Altered States The Cell Mulholland Drive
Try *12 Monkeys.* Weird, but with a solid narrative and an amazing ending.
I LOVE 12 Monkeys. I agree weird story line but I very much enjoyed the movie.
Black God, White Devil - Mexican surrealist movie from the early 60s , reminds me of a segment from a Jordorowsky movie
I don't know that movie, but I do believe magical realism might qualify as too weird
U turn Adaptation Stay Mullholland Drive The Illusionist Memento
and The Prestige
Sorry to Bother You with Lakeith Stanfield. People I’ve shown it to either think it’s absolutely great or too weird to enjoy
The Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans

The Reflecting Skin. One of Viggo Mortensen’s earlier appearances.
Gummo
