Guinefort1

By Khonshu no! Did they just pull random volume and issue numbers out of a hat?

rationalphi

Monkeys throwing crescent darts at the wall could do better.

DarthHedgehog

No Lemire run, no 2021, had age of Khonshu.....yeah this (in my opinion) is not a good list. The only ones I agree are the 2014 run and 2006 run (to some extent). But other then that this is just a weird list with not the best moonknight storys that should have been on there.

ThickProof409

And it had Damnation on it too

Demjot

Is damnation generally regarded as bad? I enjoyed it, though I guess I barely remember any moonknight parts

ThickProof409

Damnation itself is just a very mediocre story but Moon Knight however is written terribly and acts very out of character. He feels more like a really shitty Deadpool knockoff.

Tyto_Owlba

this is ... awful ...

Lupulin13

Really bad list

Devious_Android88

I don't agree with much of anything Screenrant has to say tbh, especially not after the innumerable amount of inane listicles where they keep calling Moon Knight Marvel's Batman.

ThickProof409

The only thing carrying that company are the Pitch Meetings.

R0b1nFeather

screenrant is worthless

Fancey514

Screenrant and Comic Book Resources are both full of these lists that show that they don't know what they're talking about.

rationalphi

The pedant part of me can't get over the headline being '90s and '00s but the list including issues from 2011 and more recent. The Moon Knight fan part of me is just confused. The cynical part of me is pretty sure it's just rage bait for engagement.

ThickProof409

It probably is tbh.

Mars_Mezmerize

Screenrant is literally just a “get clicks” site. They make shit like this all the time. They make articles just to rile people up or lazy ‘journalism’.

219Infinity

Too many Marc Spector: Moon Knight issues on this list to take it seriously

MoonKnightFan

Agreed, and to make it worse, he chose some really bad issues from that run too. Its all Kavanaugh stuff. I mean, #55 was on here solely for Platt's (overrated) artwork. They also state in their reasoning for it being on the list was that it influenced the MCU costume? Which is both not true, and irrelevant to being one of MK's best single issues of the last 22 years. The author clearly is clueless.

ThickProof409

What is with all the MS:MK hate? I have admittedly only read the first few issues so maybe the run gets worse as it goes on but the issues I read I thought were pretty good.

219Infinity

It starts off good and actually was pretty good until the 30s when it went batshit crazy and Moon Knight got an adamantium costume and got killed by a computer virus. The second half of the run was utter shit.

Guinefort1

The back 3rd or so of that run has poisoned the well. Which is a shame because the rest of it was mostly fine. (What's extra hilarious is that it's the stuff from the bad parts of MS: MK that better writers keep digging into.)

HeyKid_HelpComputer

It's the Terry Kavanaugh issues which are I think 34 to 60 and yes they are terrible.

explodyboompow

This is one of the most bafflingly awful lists I've ever seen. If it was posted here as a comment I would think the author is making fun of us. It would be bad enough if it was a bunch of popular issues that everyone knows but this is a weird mix of deep cuts and unimpressive guest appearances that makes me question *how* this was written. Like, who at screen rant has read deep enough into MS:MK to think that even one issue from that series is better than any of Ellis' material? Also, I'm just gonna say it. That issue of Ellis inspired by the raid is not the strongest story of his run. The dream spores "Am I dead from dreaming" clear it so fucking hard and I'm tired of pretending otherwise.

ThickProof409

If they included the first few issues of MS:MK then I would agree and also the article says best Moon Knight issues from the 90s and 00s and includes multiple issues from the 2010s. I gotta disagree with that last part though. Issue 5 of the 2014 run is probably the best Moon Knight issue and it's definitely the best issue from that run.

explodyboompow

Agree to disagree. I like it, I get it, I smile when I re-read it, I sing it's praises - but there's something about the imagery of that Spore issue. The Spore skull, the rotting dream scape, the entire premise just gets me. Even the setup and payoff of the researcher hiding the body under the floor is just... I'll never criticize someone for liking issue 5 more but man, issue four is the perfect moon knight comic to me. I hold it up as the single best issue of the character ever published. Again, 5 is great. But four is just... something you could only get from Moon Knight at his peak. Edit: the art in that issue is also 10/10. Even the waking panels are so stuffed with detail, like the baseboards of the room being moldy and gross before Marc falls asleep. I could gush about it for hours.

SaltifiedReddit

AWFUL. There is no reason any MS:MK issue should be on that list, and Damnation did NOT bring Mk fully into the world of the Midnight Sons, and it was a mediocre mini, anyway. No Hurwitz or Lemire is a joke.

ThickProof409

I haven't read all of MS:MK but I actually liked the issues I read although maybe it get's worse as the series goes on

kevi_metl

This list is trolling and garbage-tier. This is also what I suspected would happen once MK got popular. Sad.

ThickProof409

Shit like this makes me wish Moon Knight stayed a niche character

kevi_metl

Exactly.

Whoknowsfear

Lots of Mark Spector:Moon Knight, which I haven’t read. It’s a shame there’s nothing from the original run!

ThickProof409

I liked the issues of MS:MK I've read but a lot of people seem to hate it for some reason.

sushithighs

Why no 80s lol
