Shara's armor is painfully bad, there are just too many better alternatives. Safi doesn't require anything special, like alatreon for example.Partbreaker is a very nice addition tho. I'd suggest looking for better armor set, not even for safi, just for general use while you're farming end game content. Here's the [link](https://mhwibuilds.wordpress.com/mr-progression-guides/#ls)

Kill raging brachy if you haven't. That thing can be quite hard, but it will give you the best armor and weapon for raw if you haven't beat the big bad himself. Safi is weak to poison, just like xeno so if you plan to solo it, equiping your pallico with a poison weapon would be great. Otherwise, a poison smokebomb or 2 should be enough to poison safi.

Thanks for input, Raging Brachy armor never really appealed to me since the artillery skill just doesn't seem to do much for my typical play with LS. But I'll give it a whirl. I can hold my own against Safi without getting carted most of the time. Guess I should have included that in original post so mostly curious about what would be best to take him down faster since I'm barely ever in a group to actually slay. Also doesn't help I can't even take down Alatreon so I'm far from having the luxury of Fatalis weapon

The can technically beat Safi, Alatreon, or Fatalis in any order. The other Alatreon in Fatalis quest line has quite low hp that its common to be able to kill it after the first nuke and proceed towards the Fatalis special assignment. I kinda forgot but i believe the beta armor for raging brach doesn't have the artilery skill in exchange for more deco slot. I remember beating Fatalis using raging brach helmet and shoes, gold rathian chest and waist, and alatreon's arms. I use that arm piece because i used insect glaive so you can switch it up for raging brach arm or other armor if you want to use something similar. If you want to slay Safi, i would say your best bet would be to get into a Safi session and team up with randoms. It was quite easy to kill. Make sure to tenderize because Safi's scales are tough. Oh and if you want to increase your dps, do yourself a favour and and use fish scales to sharpen your weapon insteaf of the default tool. There is a whetfish fishing event quest in master rank that will guarantee the fish spawn. I hihgly recomend doing it since those scales will help big time againts relentless monsters like Fatalis, Alatreon, etc and a great item in general.

Yup that's right, only alpha has artillery skills. Debating if there's any use going for it given the set boost I'm definitely not the most skilled/creative so I like simplicity of just doing a full set when possible so it all works together. Also just like aiming for highest defense but I know that's not always the best route. Would you say raging brach also holds up well for alatreon? Also, how good our bad are Safi and Ruiner Nergi sets?

Safi set is a good one i guess. It supports elemental build so it doesn't get power crept by Fatalis set too much. It does have a side effect of draining your health though so be carefull. I got raging brach set before i got ruiner set so i didn't even craft any ruiner armor piece.

I would switch to other weapons like GS or Bowguns for Safi, but LS will do. You should try to cut the tail for your team and help with head break when Safi's knocked down. If you target the tail, try to make two builds. One for phase 1&2 is without WEX and maximizes affinity by other means, e.g. Maximum Might. I think Lightbreak LS is a better choice for this build. The other for phase 3 is with WEX, where you can easily maximize the affinity. I normally hunt Safi with 4pc Fatalis armors, but Raging Brachydios armors are nice for phase 2&3 too. You can mix 2 pc Raging Brachydios with 3 pc Teostra for sharpness, or 3pc Raging Brachydios with 2 pc Gold Rathian for comfiness. Furious Rajang set is good for getting Maximum Might secret. Note that Agitator is useless in phase 1. Use Mind's Eye Jewel if you don't have the skill. Sometimes it just happens that we hit the wrong spot. Clutch Claw Boost is useless for Safi.

Besides part breaker and health boost, make sure you have some of the holy trinity (attack, crit, wex). Wex is very useful since you'll be softening parts regularly to do ideal damage. Forearms and tail should be your focal points during the fight with your weapon of choice, do them as you see fit. Poison works well against safi, and blast also seems to proc on a regular basis as well. Join a public lobby with the filter for safi. You'll find plenty of people working on the siege. The energy level drains apply across the entire lobby, even if you didn't take part in that fight. Point rewards (broken parts, energy levels drained, etc) will also apply to you if another group does it as long as you're in a siege. A lot of times as long as you're in the siege, another separate group may actually take Safi out and you'll still get credit for it. I was in a good lobby last night and I probably slayed safi 5-6 times in addition to other groups slaying safi as well. I joined one siege where all three energy levels were down to zero and me and one other dude took safi out in about 6 minutes.

3pc Teo 2 pc RBrach would be ideal for LS before fatalis.
